I was checking the longitudes of both places, and the Easton restaurant was slightly east of this Rising Sun coffee shop. As it turns out and amazing coincidence, I just wrote my 2 most eastern Yelp reviews in the state of MD. Never had one further east of these locations in MD like in Elkton, Ocean City, Salisbury, etc. I visited Rise N Grind Cafe on a Friday in September 2022. I was going up to Newark, DE to visit my parents for a night at a hotel for a mushroom festival in Kennett Township on that Saturday. I managed to get a parallel parking right in front of the store in the small downtown Rising Sun. I wifi at this cute coffee shop as I had some work on that Friday. I had a delicious coffee, and I think a tuna salad sandwich, which was delicious. The staff was friendly too, and they were efficient. I comfortably got my work done. Unfortunately, I didn't take a pic of my food, but I took pics of other aspects of the cafe itself. If I ever end up back in Rising Sun, I'd come back here!

There's a cozy couch area, tables/chairs, and even a small bar area where you can sit and look out at Main Street. They recently connected to the building next door and enclosed a super cute breezeway and adorned it with plants and such to make a nice relaxing space. This is located on the Main Street with a few parking spots out front (parallel parking), but there's also a back shared lot, as well as side street parking in the cross street. This place has all the possible caffeine and non caffeine drinks you could ever want. There's seasonal goodies that they get creative with as well. There's also a smoothie menu, breakfast menu, and other food options. The bakery goods are always a treat since they are mostly made in house. They do have a low carb option with a frittata and you can always throw a breakfast meat on top of it as well. You will not go hungry here. You will even want to take stuff to go. I always get the Americano and the protein energy balls which are the perfect combination of salty and a touch of sweetness. The frittata is also very good. They easily accommodate any kind of order you may want. The staff is super friendly and attentive. They call your name when your order is done and now have another system of giving you a buzzer for when your order is ready. Always great employees who are smiling and doing their best to get your order to you. They do have merchandise to promote their cafe, and even a super cute retail space in the very back. There's also some locally owned items sprinkled throughout the cafe for you to browse and purchase. They even have some super fun treats for the four legged family members. Just a lovely vibe and a great little local place where you can spend a great morning/afternoon catching up with friends or spending some alone time lost in a book or working,

I distinctly told the young lady that this was my first time here, so I didn't know how everything was run. I specifically asked for one slice of bacon because due to a heart condition, my doctor only recommends one slice every three or four days. It came out with four slices. My food came out in a paper box even though I told them I was eating here and no one ever told me that it was ready. I was sitting in the opposite corner of the restaurant. Consequently, I just happened to get up to check on my order and it had been sitting there for several minutes. The eggs were good, but the hashbrowns were overcooked and hard and crunchy. It was just a hash brown patty from Sysco, like McDonald's, but overcooked. If you go here, make sure you keep an eye out for your order when it comes out of the kitchen. Otherwise, it will cool off and get hard and crunchy. The coffee tastes good.

BLUF: Go check it out, you won't regret it…read more TLDR: OMG I'm so glad I stumbled upon this adorable coffee shop on cozy Main Street in North East, MD. It was just me, so I only got half a dozen donuts with a knife so I could taste them all! I tried: Cookies & Cream, Salted Caramel, Maple Bacon, Toasted Coconut, Chai, and Fluffernuter. Let me start by saying the cake part of these donuts is just perfect. Not too dense, lightly crisp on the outside, and insanely fresh. The toppings might sound over the top, but they weren't. They were perfectly subtle to add a hint of flavor without a dose of diabetes. And the coffee- such unique lattes both in name and flavors. I went with Davy Joey's Locker with an extra shot of espresso. So good. Not overly sweet and not bitter at all. And then I just had to try the cute little pistachio cannoli. Shell was filled upon ordering, so the shell was nice and crispy. Now this was super sweet, but I haven't met a cannoli yet that wasn't! Barista was friendly & bubbly and patient when it took me some time to pick my 6 donuts. Basic tables and chairs with some bench seating along the window. Pillows & chairs could use a refresh, as well as the bathroom, looking a bit worn & dingy, but that's literally the only negative thing about this place.

Tik Tok made me do it and I'm glad I did it!…read more My co-worker recently had been seeing some videos about the food at Newberry Cafe so of course we had to make a lunch time stop to see what everyone was talking about. Newberry reminds me of your hometown bakery where everyone gathers in the morning for their donuts and coffee before heading off to work. Very much like many of the shops in the Bel Air area. The employees are super nice at Newberry. Really taking their time to provide great customer service to each patron that strolls through the doors. Although it was lunch time we settled on breakfast sandwiches with homefries. And I of course had to grab a donut because it's a must, and a latte. The breakfast sandwich was just what you would want to start your day, a savory piece of meat and cheese on a soft bagel. But the star of the show was the homefries. Cooked and seasoned perfectly, crispy on the outside and a soft texture on the inside. We both loved the potatoes. My glazed donut was divine, pillowy with just the right amount of glaze to not make the donut too sweet. The latte was a little to sweet for me, but I'm a little finicky with the sugar level in many caffeinated drinks. All the times I've ventured into Bel Air I never thought to stop at Newberry and I'm glad I finally did. I'll definitely be back to try more of their yummy donuts and breakfast sandwiches in the future.
