A plus for Abalene - A Great Local Family Business I had a leak in the basement which I thought was coming from PVC joints underneath a tub in a bathroom in the first floor. I called Abalene and got an appointment within a week. They showed up on schedule and Eric did an amazing job detecting the leak. It ended up being the drain assembly. He and an assistant installed a rubber washer in the drain to replace a haphazardly done plumbing job. Eric cleaned the drain meticulously and put a healthy amount of silicone on the fitting. They left the place spotless and were exceedingly affable professionals. I had to wait at least 24 hrs before using the bathtub for the silicone to dry. I waited 72 just to be safe and two weeks later, still no leak. I asked if there was a warranty program in the event that the tub started to leak again. Eric told me he's been doing this for 20 years and he hasn't got a call back yet for similar fixes. That was pleasantly reassuring. I'd definitely recommend Abalene for any plumbing issues. They are friendly and reasonably priced as well. I may give them a call for installing a whole house water filtration system. If I do I'll make an update. Abalene gets an A plus. Cheers read more

We had a leaky freestanding tub filler. We were very hesitant to get it fixed for fear of unreliable contractors (especially with plumbing). Well the leak kept getting worse and we called Abalene based upon a respectable referral. This is a very professional and reliable Plumbing and HVAC company. The Abalene office people coordinator with Delta to expedite the replacement part to ship overnight. Abalene was installing the part within a day of my call. The serviceman Sean was exceptional! He was professional, knowledgeable, respectful, and really showed an attitude of care and pride in doing a great job! He was also able to fix the backyard hose connection that was leaking (bonus). The price is more than fair but most importantly it was a job well done. We plan to use Abalene for our upcoming AC annual maintenance service. They fixed our old Central Air unit when it quit at the beginning of the cooling season. I needed them to come quickly because my wife is ill and the AC is essential to her wellbeing. I think it was Matt who came, diagnosed the issue. A part had to be ordered because it's an old system. Part came in as promised and a very courteous capable man whose name I can't remember installed the part with no fuss, buttoned up the unit and it works like new. I could not be happier with this company and its staff. Every single interaction on the phone or in person has been 5 star. This kind of consistency and level of service is unfortunately rare but what better than those you rely on to heat and cool your home (amongst other services). They were recommended to me by a neighbor who has used Abalene for years because his father used them and I was happy for a recommendation rather than winging it. Needless to say, I couldn't be happier. I read many reviews about how great and reliable their response time was, especially for emergencies (You'll see these reviews further down). Well tonight was a test of that service and they exceeded expectations. Tonight, in the middle of the winter, my burner went haywire and set off a chamber fire which filled the house with carbon monoxide- thankfully all alarms went off and my wife and daughter left immediately (the fire department cleared the house and disable the heater). I was an hour away from home and called Abalene's emergency service and within two hours, Chris, the nicest technician in the world, was at the house and not only found and fixed the problem but tuned the whole unit.... at 8pm! He could've have just fixed it and left but he spent the time ensuring the unit was optimal. I only wish I'd contracted hem sooner and prevented the problem in the first place! I'm so grateful for the crew at Abalene and I'm now a lifetime customer. You can't go wrong. Don't cut costs and corners and especially service on something so essential by using budget companies, but if you do, keep Abalene's number handy for when the other company leaves you hanging. I received an estimate from this company on a conversion to gas. Had some questions and I have been calling them fir three days and Left numerous voice messages. I have not received a return call which has forced me to seek another company to help me. What would have happened if I did business with them and needed emergency help ? Do yourselves a favor and look for another company that can return calls and probably offer you reasonable service.
