However, I was treated like one by techs J and N, who were far more interested in talking to each other than in acknowledging my existence or making even a modicum of effort to see that I was as comfortable as possible while they were working. The tech who finished the job, J, seemed utterly oblivious to the fact that she completely soaked the back of the t-shirt I was wearing, with cold water, while rinsing out the neutralizing solution. When I declined a blow-dry with diffuser, she declined to offer even the most basic comb-out, once the rinse was done and the rods were removed from my hair. I was so disappointed in her utter indifference that I plan to seek further cosmetology services elsewhere in the future. It was a particularly bitter disappointment given the excellent service I got in January and the good service in April.

(Spa services review)…read more I'm generally a fan of visiting the Euro Institute for spa services and depending on what you're after, is a flip-flop between here and the Evergreen Beauty College that's about ten minutes away. Here, while it's also a beauty school, has placed an emphasis on building the ambiance that many professional spa services build for clientele. There's the nature-themed furniture and plants in the lobby (maybe from Marshall's or Homegoods), quiet sounds of waves and bells in the spa area, dimmed artificial lights, good air circulation, lots of natural light coming in from the second floor, and overall just a quiet, inclusive-feeling environment. There's also the option to do the spa treatments with a wrap. When you're led to the restroom to do so, there's three restroom stalls and a larger open area to change and put your items in an open cubby. It would've been nice to have something like shower stalls to change in for privacy instead of choosing between taking a restroom stall or changing in the open. The amount of machines, devices, and spa treatment materials used was worth the price. For one of the facial treatments I got, there were LED light treatments, masks, eye coverings, steam towels, steam treatment, arm and facial massages, toner, and other services included for under $60. Both times I went, the students were well-accommodating and balanced between asking questions and keeping the quiet ambiance. There are some features I'd appreciate if they were implemented like online scheduling (can only be done through the phone or in-person), spacing out the spa tables more/having less of them (students easily bumped into other machines or had to navigate around things because of how cramped it was), and the private changing stalls as noted above. Overall, a really nice and more affordable way to treat yourselves or others as a gift. Driving in and out can be a challenge because it's situated next to a busy, major intersection.

I thought I would have my eyes covered with a slice of cucumber at the very least, but that didn't happen. Nevertheless, it was quite relaxing. Keep in mind that they are students performing the services which means they can't receive tips by credit card. I made that mistake and didn't bring cash. Will know better by next time!

My hair stylist Sophia was very attentive to my request and careful in washing, cutting, and styling. The instructor checked constantly and made a few small changes to my layers. I recommended thinning since my hair quickly grows thick, and Sophia immediately fixed the cut. For the quality, price, and attention to detail, the haircut was amazing. The only downside is the long appointment time (I finished near 5:30), but it was understandable since the students needed to check their plan and each step with the instructor. Once I was eventually taken in. It took over 40 minutes after the consultation for the student to begin working on my hair because they were still writing notes and preparing their sheet. The service itself felt inconsistent and poorly managed. I understand this is a training environment, but there seemed to be a lack of structure and time management throughout. My color turned out chunky and stripy, and it was very obvious that at least two different people worked on my hair because my original stylist needed assistance mid way through the coloring. One side came out significantly more orange than the other, and it honestly looked like I had months of grown-out color. After my hair was washed, I was told they "didn't have time" to finish with a blowout. Instead, I was given a card for a complimentary blow dry for another visit, which I was fine with and they said we'd do a rough dry. Since it was 6, which was closing time the instructor stepped in to "rough dry" my hair. There was no product and they did a few passes. I left with my hair about 90% wet. I was shocked that they allowed me to leave the appointment in that condition. Not until I went home and fully dried my hair was when I noticed that my hair cut was uneven. My original 1 PM appointment didn't end until around 6:15 PM. I later emailed them about the experience and, after escalating it with multiple people, they brought me back 2 days later for a correction appointment, which took about 3 hours. I'm still not fully happy with the result, but it will have to do for now while my hair recovers from being processed twice within 48 hours. Overall, I would strongly advise having very low expectations. I would not recommend getting your hair colored here. A simple trim might be okay, but even that feels like a gamble depending on who you get.
