Mr. Velez accepted funds for parts that needed to be ordered for the repair & failed to return numerous phone messages left on his answering service since accepting the funds. After his second ( & last) service call, we noted that the receipt he provided was generic with no printed business name, which, in retrospect, raised concerns. A follow-up business search with the Sec'y of State of Ohio shows he has not filed business documents with the State of Ohio & has no "Certificte in Goodstanding". Due to his failure to complete the repair as he promised on his last service call & our failure to thoroughly verify his credentials we were obligated to purchase a new appliance. This review is to alert the community that Mr. Jose Velez is operating J & J Appliance unethically & to prevent others from being scammed by this disreputable, untrustworthy individual. Very disappointed with the quality of the furniture I purchased and the communication is terrible…read more I purchased an electric recline couch and loveseat and have had a little over 2 months. In the store I noticed a small stitch coming out and was assured it would be fixed before delivery. It was not, it was delivered with the stitching still out and we had to have one of their guys come to fix it. Not even a month later more stitching has come out and I have attempted to contact them through the website with no response. I called the store but all I got was they cannot be returned but they have a 1 year warranty. I also contacted on Facebook Messenger which took way to long to get a response and all I got was that their guy would be in touch to come fix it... AGAIN. I am still waiting to hear from their guy and them and it has been over a week since they last responded. The motor is also starting to act up on one of the recliners. This is absolutely unacceptable for new furniture and doing business in general.

Bought a floor model dishwasher on January 28th. Never received an install email or phone call for…read more9 days. Was told the installers would contact me within 48 hrs. Called Lowes Ashtabula store on the 8th day and was told " The installers came to pick up your unit but we told them it was not shipped here yet. It's a floor model and it's been here." Went up there after work the next day to confirm delivery and wanted the store manager JOE to schedule with the installers for me because I did not want to get caught up in the automated loophole for hrs but JOE was rude and said " Do you want a refund ?" Will only be using Mentor stores from now on.
