I'm not one to write bad reviews, but I went in with one problem and came out with more. I had two CV axles supposedly replaced. I say supposedly because the passenger side CV axle looks like it was never touched. Anywho, all in all a pully adjustment and two axles cost me over $1,000. There was a coupon online for 10% off that I showed to philip. He had the audacity to tell me that that would only knock off $10. What do you think I am, stupid? So when I got the car back, not only did I get it back with a missing nut for my tire, but that wheel stud where the missing nut was, was completely stripped. On top of that, there was another cross threaded wheel nut on that same tire. I know because I was so frustrated with their service I had my wheel stud replaced elsewhere. Another thing I've noticed, as I'm driving I now have a vibration coming from my driver side tire. That was never there before. You can feel it on takeoff and when I go to break, the car shakes pretty violently. I definitely would not recommend coming here, but that's just my personal opinion and experience with this location. The outcome of the performance of my car has been so frustrating that I don't even want to go back to them to " fix it ". Oh and by the way, I purposely left a few bucks in my cup holder to see what kind of people I'm dealing with at this location. Needless to say, those dollars were gone. Edgar the mechanic should not be taking care of customers. The customer service is horrible. They left my hood open on a windy day in Fontana. The wind tore my hood off and the manger at the time told me he didn't have to tell me he could've just fixed it. But he was nice enough to. What a piece of work. $4000 and a year later. Took my car in 1 1/2 years ago to get a rebuilt transmission put in, car is running great still. I searched other transmission shops before taking to AAMCO they were not able to do it that I would have to take it to the dealer ship I was trying to avoid that. Paid for a rebuilt transmission and got taken. Returned my car 7 times for leaks, warning lights, etc. They finally exchanged one rebuilt for another. 3200 miles later the tranny leaked and has a shutter shift at 62 mph. What a joke read more

My check engine light was on and I called to see if they can do a diagnosis. When I show up I was greeted by my name that was a nice touch for customer service, Donnell hooked up my car and what do you know? Everything comes back fine. Donnell says it could be the lights that are burnt out he checked the brake lights first and low and behold one was burnt out. I go inside to pay and the guy at the front desk sorry I don't remember your name asked Donnell about the codes and Donnell said everything was clear and he said no charge. I am shocked as I had no issue paying for the service they provided which was seeing if there was something wrong with my car. My husband's car completely died and when Aamco had the car towed to them for a reasonable price within 15 minutes of me calling. Phillip was professional and most importantly HONEST and TRUSTWORTHY. The prices quoted were entirely fair and Phillip went out of his way to help. Let me start off by saying this is the worst the worst experience that I have had with with any automotive company or mechanical repairs. I brought in my vehicle to this location aamco in Fontana on arrow for transmission repair I was assisted by Philip Robinson which is the service writer and manager of the facility. At the time he seemed like a caring person that was concerned about your vehicle And not to worry we will take care of it Within 3 to 10 days By their motto. Well let me just say it did not work out that way After 2 weeks Of me calling checking on the status of my vehicle they kept telling me they could not find the parts And kept giving me broken promises on when my vehicle would be ready So now a month later I get a call that my car is ready I pay my fees of $4,600 and take my car home after 2 hours of driving my check engine light comes on comes on and the same problems problems are happening For what I originally took my vehicle in for, So I take it back And for a another month I kept getting the run around Stating that they're working on it, Not answering my phone calls because they have caller ID and they see that I am calling to find out information on my vehicle, stating that Philip has gone home cause he wasn't feeling well, So I did a surprise visits to see what Was the status on my car Philip was at work And stating he has covid Delta So at this point he should not have been at work at all. Saying that it is An electrical problem Saying that now my CPU is burned out when I took in the car with a working CPU Now it's burnt out when they try to Fix electrical issues. So now after a total of 2 months and $1000 more for a cpu that all of a sudden went bad in their care. I go to sign paperwork and pay and this guy has covid so I did not want to touch anything that he touched Now he becomes unhinged calling his general manager Telling him that he needs to deal with me Before he kills me And making fake claims that he is highway patrol fake badge slamming it on the desk as hard as he can. This place is very unprofessional the service writer/manager Philip Robinson is extremely unprofessional you don't treat your customers that way by cursing at them giving them, broken promises, keeping your car for 2 months because you don't know how to fix it, Not answering phone calls during business hours because they have caller ID and they know you're calling, Becoming unhinged when I advised him that I am not touching paperwork or the pen that that he touched because he claims he has covid and not wearing gloves to protect the customers, Then gets upset because I did not want to sign paperwork with him touching everything including the pen, And then makes criminal threats To his general manager mike stating that "he needs to handle me before I kill him" with another employee there to witness what he said when confronted about about it he reaches in his bag To pull out a badge that looks fake to me And even if it is real by law if your not employed by them anymore you CAN NOT go around flashing a badge. So slams it down on the counter as hard as he can And starts cursing And claiming that he is highway patrol And Make fake calls to the highway patrol to send a unit When you can clearly hear that it was a scanner that he was talking to that didn't answer back to him Trying to use it as a Atimidation factor To write me tickets for modifications to my car in which I did not have any modification, my car is stock thinking I was going to be scared. Ive read other post and he's acted the same way. So again here you have a service writer/manager that is very unprofessional stating that he is going to kill someone To his general manager because I did not want to touch the pen that he was using because because hes claiming he has covid and not wearing glover and also Impersonating an officer, Manager Making broken promises And when you confront him on it he hangs up on you. Called the shop to make an appointment for my check engine light. The owner Randall let me know to come in anytime today and they would get me checked out and diagnosed for free. I mentioned to him I had a car through Fair which pays for my service. He then refused to take my vehicle saying it was to difficult for him to bill them. I've had no issues at all with my services being performed anywhere else including pep boys. Also the diagnosis was free so I am extremely confused how he would have a issue billing for that. Very rude and unprofessional. The issue here is actually that they don't want to work on fleet vehicles since they get the minimum amount of profit and can't run up the prices like they do on regular customers. I have a 2012 Ford Mustang, six speed manual. I was having some fun one day and ended up messing up my clutch and fly wheel. I took my car there to get second opinion on my car issue it was driving but not driving like it should wasn't shifting correctly I was told by the first mechanic that I had cracked the solenoid for the drive shaft and that was the only problem I told it over to Amco spoke with Philip he said that it would be a free diagnosis on the vehicle he said it to take about 10 days I called the see what's going on with my vehicle he's telling me that the transmission is totaled it's burnt up and that it would cost 4600 to 6500 and for the diagnosis is $1,200 and then sign any documentation on approving any $1,200 or any only paper I signed was a free diagnosis and now he's holding my car hostage read more

The staff here are probably the most honest people you'll find in this type of field in this area.. literally I went to two different places for my check engine light. The Lexus crown dealership which told me that I needed a whole new transmission, or get a reseal done on it because there was a "leak". I paid 1,000. The engine light remained and they told me to come back to get my transmission replaced for 5000~ The second place I went to was for a second opinion. I paid 200~ just so they could tell me what was wrong. They informed me that there was a situation with my solenoid in my transmission and that it would be 800 to get it done... that or I get my transmission replaced for 4000~ I felt that I was getting jipped and didn't do any of those options, and so as my final try, I went to get a third opinion here. Philip was the one that spoke me and told me he would run a check up on the car an diagnose for free. Fernando was the one to check up on my car and he did great there was actually really nothing wrong with my transmission as nothing came up. So, the owner and Philip let me go free of charge because they didn't want to charge me for something that wasn't needed which wow, obviously not so many people like that out there anymore. When they could've easily taken advantage of me for I am a young female ( shouldn't have to do with anything but unfortunately with our society young females do tend to get jipped at car places and any auto repair). Very honest work And just disregard that one review with one star and the owner that calls out "little girls" because the owner has since changed and was personally very honest with me and my car issues! :) read more

My sisters cars "check engine" light came on and threw a transmission code. I recommended AAMCO because I did not have time to look at it and I thought it was a trusted name. She went to the AAMCO in Fontana where they said they diagnose the problem for free. She had the car towed to the shop. The next day Phillip called her and said it's more than likely the solenoid and that he'd ordered one from Honda and that it should arrive the same day. Towards the end of the day he called back stating they tested the solenoid and it was in fact the problem. He stated the part was $88 but that he recommended a "transmission service" bringing the total to $450. I asked her to inquire what a "transmission service" entails. Philip replied that it was basically adding fluid back in. She felt taken advantage of and now held hostage despite not approving any work. She asked me to call him. I called and spoke with Phillip. I asked what the "transmission service" included and he could not say so I asked for a breakdown of the bill. He replied that the part was $88 and that he had already discarded the fluid because it was "tarnished" so he'd be charging her $36 for that. He got very defensive and stated that he was now charging 2.7 hours of labor at $110. He said he had recorded her phone conversation and in California only needs verbal agreements to authorize service. When i explained that she hadn't authorized any work from my understanding he got very angry and threaten to leave the car as is. He said i was being recorded also. He changed his story numerous times about whether he had started the work, was in the middle of it or that it was completed and test driven. He raised his voice, loudly talked over me and was very rude. Whenever I tried to say anything he again threatened to stop all work leaving the car immobile. I explained that because I was paying I was just trying to understand the bill. He didn't listen and hung up on me. When I called back he said my sister is a "big girl" and should "learn to do things on her own." He then said I wasn't a customer and wouldn't talk to me and hung up. I hope he does in fact have the conversation recorded and he has my permission to post it. I'd gladly sign a release so others including the AAMCO corporate office could hear it. My sister called back and asked to get her car back and he said she'd have to pay $450 for the work she never authorized. She had no choice but to agree because her car was being held as ransom. Then he said it wouldn't be ready until the next day, despite the fact he said the work was "already done." I even called another AAMCO to get a quote and confirmed the solenoid on her car is external and a fluid change is not required. They took advantage of my sister and attempted to overcharge her and when I inquired he became very unprofessional and hostile. Reading other Yelp reviews it appears he has called other people "little girls," etc. Seems to be a theme. I would not advise going to this location or AAMCO if they allow this of their stores. Expect to be taken advantage of, especially if you're a female. Bait with "free diagnosis", then they start work without authorization and toss your fluid leaving you immobile and held hostage before recommending erroneous service. Question what the "needed service" is and you'll be sorry. Update: Read the owner's response; it doesn't even make sense. This is how he communicated over the phone. Loud, boisterous filibustering and insults won't win you any customer service point, civilized conversations do. read more

This is definitely a very honest and professional shop - I took my sons late model BMW there with what sounded like a trans or flywheel issue. They were the only shop in the area that would even take later model vehicles and I thought I was going to have to take it to a dealer. They spent a fair amount of time inspecting everything, pulling stuff apart and diagnosing the problem. It turned out to be a broken exhaust mount that intermittently rattled. They called me back within 24 hours of dropping it off and told me what the problem was. They didn't charge anything since their diagnosing is no charge. They could have made up any excuse, told me the exhaust also had a problem and billed me for the repair but they didn't. I have no problem taking even the cleanest nicest of vehicles there because of their honesty and the shop is very clean (I am a kind of neat freak). Phillip was great and the tech even took the time to explain to my son and I where the rattle was coming from even referring us to a place that could repair the exhaust. I forget this place is there because it's down on Arrow off the main streets but it's definitely a great place and I will call them first from now on. read more

I bought a car from dons auto center three months ago, and it always felt like my car took a long time to accelerate and it kind of slipped. I thought that was normal for a cvt. I took my car to get inspected at a different place and they told me to get a transmission flush and they wanted 300$ for it so I thought hey maybe aamco will do it cheaper. I called them and Philip the manager answered and he told me to bring it in for a free inspection. He was kind and honest told me it was an internal problem.
