A few weeks ago my AC compressor went out and while every other shop was quoting me for a full AC overhaul Sal worked with me to make sure he could get me the best price he could while also getting my AC back up and running cold right before a major heatwave. Was a really nice experience getting my car fixed at Sal's garage. I had to get my rear shocks and control rods replaced and at the local dealership they told me it would be $2300. I called and got a quote from Sal's that same day and they quoted me at $1000. The next day when I brought my car in, they told me some "repairs" the dealership recommended really weren't necessary and my total cost was $300. Sal's garage strikes again!!! I wouldn't recommend any other automotive shop with out being more confident they'll take care of you. I'm a returning customer. Sal's garage replaced my transmission on my 2013 Jeep wrangler about 2 years ago and it's still running strong after 25k miles. They took care of me last week. Long story short himself and his crew found a fuel injector that got stuck open, it flooded my engine and air intake manifold. They took care of it within a couple hours. The main thing that stuck out is they stayed open about a half a hour after closing hours to finish the job. They could of told me to come back the next day to pick up.. but they didn't . My mom's car broke down the other day. She's 81. We felt it needed to be looked at, maybe there was some issue with the transmission. We called Sal's Garage 909, and spoke to a friendly young lady. Explained the situation, she said bring it in and we'll look at it. We had it towed to their shop. They looked at it, determined it would need a transmission. She gave us a quote which we thought was fair. We thought they would have the car for 5-6 days. Enough time to take out the old transmission, get the new transmission and then install it. But, they finished it the next day! They had it out the same day they got the car. But here's the most important and impressive part, this young lady has the absolute best customer service. Texting us updates and photos all throughout the process, which again was 1 day! Sal's Garage 909 is our new go to mechanic and I will tell anyone and everyone where to take their car if they need service. Customer service like this is non-existent these days. Sal had ordered 2 engines from his reputable vendor and once they arrived he sent them back because they didn't look as good as the said they were. My car clutch was in very bad condition could barely drive and called them last minute on Friday and they let me explain my situation and problem and asked questions and wanted to make sure the diagnosis was good. Not only that but their prices are very well. Best costumer service I had from mechanic shop. Family company and wholesome. They did above and beyond on my work and knew I was in good hands. They stay an hour after closing just so I can get my car that day because they wanted help a college student. Not only that but did multiple other additions to the car with no added charges. Never again. This time I took my girlfriend's car in for what I suspected to be a bad cat. I was surprised when Sal offered to do a Micky Mouse repair. Basically installing a home made resister (a metal spring) to trick the sensor into passing smog. He wanted $200 for this "repair". He didn't bother to inspect the car to find out what was really wrong or offer any other solutions. Ultimately we went to the dealer and they said it was a bad sensor and charged $125. read more

I wanted so much for this to be a great review because I wanted to find a great mechanic but... I have a 80 series Toyota Landcruiser and wanted a LS swap. Sal's Garage was recommended by a friend and I was so excited it was going to happen. Sal quoted me 9k and 30 days and ended up costing me 13k and 5 months. even though it was more and took longer I just wanted my truck back, but to my dismay there were a ton of issues. 1)a/c was not working even though he promised he would have it done and would have to bring it back to him. later he told me that even though he had said he would provide a/c, I would have to take it to someone else (electrician) and pay out of my pocket for it. I ended up paying another $2800. 2)some dash gauges were not working. 3)transmission would only go into drive or reverse (no low gear or 2nd gear) 4)no reverse light. 5)things I found were not tightened (oil drain plug, transfer case drain plug, motor mount, hose clamps) 6)overheating issues (even though I didn't initially have overheating, all my hoses were leaking from one to other and finally blew my heater core. finally took it back to him and he had it for 1 1/2 weeks and put new fans and supposedly put other radiator and did a head gasket on there but still getting over 240 deg on big hill such as Grapevine and Cajon Pass and at this date of review I think he is done with helping me on it. initially he had told me it was a 2 year warranty but now after 7 month he said it out of warranty.) 7) today after Sal work on the above overheating issues the transmission line to the radiator burst but luckily I saw it and was able to bring it to another shop to fix it on my dime. 8) valve cover leaking. 9)transmission leaking. 10) broken down in Vegas with misfiring issues and had to tow it all the way back to Cali. bottom line is I hate giving bad reviews because it means things didn't go well. it was a huge mistake finding Sal and I've spent countless hours and thousands of dollars trying to diagnose and fix ongoing issues while I built this truck to be a traveling/overlanding vehicle. hard to travel. when your vehicle is unreliable. let my bad experience be a warning to you! read more

I had a bad oil leak on my 2007 Nissan Altima 2 years ago. I had gotten quotes of $700.00 and $1100.00 to fix. Sal didn't charge me to diagnose it and he fixed the leak for $380.00. It's been 2 years and the car hasn't leaked oil. Recently my son got a backyard mechanic to fix his truck which they didn't fix his truck. I had Sal diagnose his truck. He couldn't find the problem at first. He found out the problem after. We got the truck fixed and the truck is running really good. I will be bringing all my cars for him to fix moving forward.
