I was really excited to get my car fixed. The response time was quick. But Larry does not know how to communicate well. I came all the way from up North and set a time with him so he can look at my car and he did not come and see my car until 2 hours after the time we had. He kept pushing my time back and putting other people before me after we set times to meet up and his excuse was "I didn't hear from you and can't wait for a response" after I replied after an hour. Please read entire review for your own sake. By far the most dishonest mechanic I have ever encounter. I called him on 8/2/2017 Wednesday. He came later, than he said he would. He checked it within minutes he said he knew what it was. He told me he was going to order a fuel injector and that the part would cost $120 plus $80 dollars for labor. He said he needed the $80 before he left and the rest the next day. He said he will come back, at 6 the next day. Now its Thursday 8/3/2017 he arrived at 7pm. I had sent him a mesaage 2 minutes before that i wanted to see receipt for part. He came to door knocked, I asked him in person for receipt, he left to his car, took a while, so I went outside to his car and he became nervous and stammering when speaking saying he doesnt show receipts but he went ahead and handed to me. When I saw the receipt, he paid the same price, I had just researched that it was going for on internet. I asked him why he was charging me $120 for part. He stumbled and stuttered that it was because its his whole sale price. But I had just checked on line part was $33-$44. I told him Im a single mom and he was doing that to me when I been screwed before. His response was that he was a single father too and stuttered that he had to support his family. It seems he feels he needs to be dishonest in order to do so. I then asked him if he was going to charge me what the part was really. He stuttered that hell see and grabed his phone and said he was going to charge me extra 5 and change for taxes. Mind you taxes he did not pay for and that it was going to be $55 and change, plus the $80 I paid already. He looked very upset that he got caught that the part was not $120. I stayed with my car to watch since now he was obviously upset rushed to change the injector and didnt say a word. I give him that, he changed the fuel injector fast and was done within half hour since he arrived. I asked him for receipt again and very upset he handed it to me and said he will write me receipt. While he was writing receipt I asked him when the smoking would stop and if it was going to be something else he said it might be the catalic, but he doesnt fix that. While he was taking my cars info down, for receipt, I went inside to charge my phone. He knocked on door. He handed me receipt he wrote up and I handed him the rest for part. He now said $50. And change I gave him 51. Seems he likes to nickel and dime. My mom came to door and sweetly said, oh if you do a good job on hers, Ill let you look at mine and put the word out for your work. My mom at this point had no clue what had happened yet. He turned to me ignored her, and said your part has warranty, but im not giving you warranty for labor, and I dont care about you giving me business, I never want to do business with you again. I guess he was upset that he got caught being dishonest. I told him likewise. There you go a mechanic that doesn't guarantee nor give you warranty for labor if you catch him being dishonest. Now that I dealt with him, Im honestly wondering if the reviews left here are his friends and family. Never again, stay away theres plenty others who are honest and will even diagnose for free and have more than 140 five stars. I would of used them but they were not available till next week because how busy they are. This has taught me a lesson always research first and do not to believe all positive reviews they could be his friends and family. My car is still smoking, and he said it will still do so for a while. Its running normal so far, except that white smoke is still coming out of the back. I will see if it stops and how it runs today and update. Update car is pulling and jerking so ill need to someone to look at. read more

Please read this entire review... it's long, but insane! I contacted Larry last week in desperation. I have a 2011 Hyundai Sonata. The air conditioning would only work if I was moving fast enough and the car would overheat if I was stuck in traffic or just idling (like in a drive thru). AAA had free safety inspections in March, so I took advantage and brought my car into an approved mechanic. He was only to inspect safety aspects (brakes, seatbelts, etc), so I was not able to get an electrical eval. He did say that my fans were not kicking on, causing these problems. Day 2 of the heatwave, I had enough. I took my car to Pepboys in Redlands. They informed me the fan for my radiator was shot and I needed to replace it. Since the part had to be ordered, I picked up my car that same day. I decided to look up the part number to double check that fan was the correct one for my vehicle. I came across an alarming surprise... on pepboys website the fan was $115. The recommendation showed the price of the part was $230 (this is for the part only, labor and warranty were listed separate, a $500 total). Also, the $45 eval fee would NOT be applied to the work. When I called to ask why the huge discrepancy, they could not give me an answer. That's when I sent an SOS message to just about everyone I knew. I spoke with Larry that night. Frustrated. In tears. I told him everything.... he said he could come to my home the next morning. I asked if I should order the part since I found it for $95 online. He said he wanted to eval first. He showed up, and within 15 mins, he knocked on the door again, informing us that the car is fixed!Turns out the fan was UNPLUGGED!!!!! The fan was NOT faulty at all! I appreciate Larry's honesty so much! He could have made a couple hundred dollars off me, but chose the high road. I have promoted him all over work (I work at Loma Linda Hospital). I just hope karma will come and take care of him. He felt so bad for how I've been treated, he didn't charge me a cent. I am beyond thankful and now have a trusted mechanic.
