Unfortunately, AAA may have become too big, or their business model relying on local mechanic shops may not be working anymore... I encourage you to find an alternative-QUICK. Their wait times have become increasingly long and unbearable... Called in a request for a jump start and battery replacement. My wife and kid were sitting in the cold in the parking lot of a school stranded. I placed about 3 follow up calls to no avail. 2.5 hour later, I was able to make my way from Boston to Worcester in rush hour traffic and was able to jump start my wife's car. We continued to wait for AAA so that we can get the new battery. We decided to leave the location after hitting the 3-hour 20 min mark of waiting, and also being promised that the driver has been en route. We were about a mile away when the call came in that the driver has arrived. We told him that we had left, but that we will turn back. We caravanned back to the parking lot of the school and the driver was indeed there. He popped the trunk and ran his diagnostics. He confirmed that the alternator of the car was working, but it definitely needed a battery. Here is the punch line.... He went to his truck (a battery truck) and came back to inform us that he doesn't have the correct size battery for our car. That was a blow I wasn't expecting, as I wrote in the special instructions area of the request that we needed a battery-SMH. I think the entire ordeal was unacceptable-the long wait time of my wife sitting with my child in the cold, in a dark parking lot, the inefficiency of the driver not having a battery that fits her car, the unapologetic rude customer service reps with whom I spoke, etc. This experience was the straw that broke the camel's back. I'm done with AAA and will become an ambassador for their boycott. No one has called to apologize, or to mend the ill feelings from the horrible ordeal. read more

Had a "battery truck" come, tow service was from Framingham - after having them jump start my brother's car the day prior, agreed to purchase a $200 battery which the driver had on his truck. The driver quickly got frustrated removing the cable from the post and said "Sorry, man, I just can't do it. I normally have the tools with me, but I don't today." Think about this. This was a BATTERY TRUCK. and they were selling a 200 dollar battery, unable or unwilling to get the cable removed from the battery post. This driver should be reprimanded or fired. I will find out which towing company from Framingham was and contact them. My local mechanic stated that it was quite simple to change out the battery. AAA should be alerted to this vendor's incompetence. read more

I came in to get my driver license renewed at 4:15 pm on a Thursday. I was in and out within 20 minutes. The service people were super friendly compared to the DMV. This experience alone made the membership fee worth it. read more

I like being a member and I definitely like having the ability to make a call when I need help with an auto emergency BUT anytime I need to visit a branch for something it turns into a time wasting run around. None of the employees knows very much about anything, many times it feels like they are learning right along with you. It makes it very difficult to trust what any one particular employee is telling you. On top of that you will often get different answers to the same question. It could be a training issue but it's very frustrating, too often time consuming and I always seem to leave feeling more confused. The workers are all very nice, just not very knowledgeable. read more

I have been an elevated member for 20 years, two years after I started driving. I get 4 calls a year, many years have gone where I didn't make a call. This year I used my 4 allotted calls, it renews in 12 days at the beginning of the year. I found myself stuck in a snowbank in a freak storm in unfamiliar territory. I called AAA, all of my details, and was told that I was over my calls... Fine, understood, that I would need to pay, fine...Expected, no problem. Passed me to next operator. Next operator informed me "YOURE OUT OF LUCK ....You used your calls up " REFUSED! REFUSED TO PLACE THE CALL TO A TOWING COMPANY!!! HALF HOUR ON THE PHONE, WOULD DO NOTHING FOR ME . What if I had been an elderly person with no smart phone ? Why can you not register the call with the local AAA TOW COMPANY!!! The tow company I found was great....They could not believe that dispatcher at AAA did this....AAA Has had days to return my complaint on phone, Facebook messages, and it's done nothing. Really they should take my complaint seriously and look into who the hell was working that evening in the area of RED CREEK NY ... I always had great faith in AAA....It's now shattered. I will not be renewing my services ever....I've googled and found far better alternatives and services. It's not about price, it's about being there when you need them. AAA IS NO LONGER THE COMPANY IT USED TO BE, IN MY PARENTS AGE OF RELIABILITY.....FAR BETTER ALTERNATIVES EXIST ......Time to say goodbye to this faulty company! read more

I went to AAA thinking it would be morw convenient to renew my license rather than going to the RMV. I was wrong. I still waited 1.5 hours to get my license renewed. They had 2 clerks working that were very friendly and customer service based. However, because they were being over friendly and over courteous, it caused the wait to be extensive. I will not be going back to this AAA location for any RMV services. It's not any faster than the RMV. If they truly wanted members to utilize this service, they would have more people working the RMV station. read more

Realized my drivers license was set to expire and had been told AAA offered license renewal services so I stopped in this past Saturday. The place was hopping. From people booking family vacations to others reinstating their AAA membership while even more were investigating a new insurance policy. I was lucky in that there were only 4 people ahead of me. The line moved quickly with the average processing time hovering about the 6-7 minute range. The people working there were extremely nice and quiet helpful. Everyone seemed pleasant and in great moods. I'll certainly look to them again in the future if needed read more

Terrible customer service. This is the second branch to charge me the wrong amount for movie tickets. They too but the burden of fixing their mistake on me and they didn't seem to care that they kept me waiting on the afternoon I stopped in. Going to this branch to renew my license was a wonderful alternative to my usual RMV experience. I was in line for about 30 minutes, but that was my own fault for waiting until the last week of the month (like most other folks!) to do my business. I was in line already when a pleasant and helpful employee approached to inquire what I was there for. She made sure I had all the right paperwork and that I didn't miss anything on the forms....can you even imagine that happening at RMV? Me either! Everyone I dealt with was pleasant, friendly and smiling...and patient, I might add, with a particularly trying elderly couple. All in all, an A++++ experience! read more

We received the worst possible service from AAA on October 9, 2018. Our 2007 Ford Edge broke down at about 7pm and was parked at Wendy's in Woburn, MA. I loaded up my floor jack and tools then drove an hour to see if I could fix it. I determined the car could not be driven and noticed two AAA wreckers in the parking lot. I approached the drivers, explained the problem and told them we are AAA members. They said they were on dinner break and suggested I call in our service request on the toll free number. They said they would help us once we called in and their break was over. We did so and explained that there was a AAA tow truck and an AAA flatbed on site. The dispatcher said she could to assign either to assist us since they were not contracted to service that area. The drivers told us the same thing. So it's ok for them to eat in Woburn but not provide service there! The dispatcher told us a wrecker from that service area would arrive in 45 minutes-it didn't. I called back with our request number two more times over the next two hours and was told the same thing. I was told I could track the AAA provider on the web site. True for a while then truck stopped around 10 and we could no longer see it moving. Coincidentally, the Red Sox were playing at that time. Finally at 11:45 pm a wrecker arrived. The truck was based in Worcester, about 75 miles away! The driver said his ipad died enroute and that's why I could not follow him. I told him we wanted the car towed to Spero's Auto in Waltham, a distance of 16 miles. At that point we were told we would have to pay in cash for everything after the first 4 miles plus a $25 hookup fee. The driver said there was nobody in the office at his home base, 3B Auto Body and he did not have the ability to process a credit card. I gave him $56 in cash and he could not give me a receipt. Based on this experience, a subscription to AAA is a waste of money. We'll be cancelling our membership, telling friends and family along with reporting our experience on social media. We are very disappointed with AAA. read more

I booked a trip three weeks before the trip they called to cancel but said they had another trip which was exactly the same. The trip adviser said it was the same hotel which was by all the attractions we wanted to see in London. Well the package came 9 days before the trip they changed the hotel which is on the other side on the city. We now have to travel miles on the underground to meet up with the tours. We are left on our own my friend is 70 and I am 65. We also took a trip to Ireland and our hotels were changed. They show you great hotels and them change them to not so nice hotels. This is crazy and we will never book with them again. The one star was generous for the way we were treated. read more

I arrived at 10:50 think if there was a lunch crowd I would avoid it ..all I wanted to do was renew my registration..... after waiting for one hour ...2 people were ahead of me ..another employee stepped in to HELP OUT this took another 15 minutes ...not much easier then RMV.... Has got to be the worst AAA it's so slow I waited over 2 1/2 hours for the tow truck to show up. I'm canceling my membership it's not worth it I lost money cause I had to take time of off work and my boss was mad at me since I only requested an hour. AAA person told me it would be around 40 min then had a call saying another 40 min wait then again I could not believe it. Don't waste your money on a membership I really rather pay the extra $40 and get my car towed right away. Please be aware!! I tried to get home insurance and it was not done in time for the closing. I had to call another office to speak to the agent's supervisor who was able to get me an insurance certificate in less than one hour. The agent had 3 days. Needless to say, the closing was postponed after I filed an extension as not to lose my large deposit due to not having proof of house insurance. Unacceptable. Never again will I use the agent, but will continue with the AAA services. read more

My wife and I went to register a vehicle and to renew my wife's license. We entered at 4:45 pm and were finally served at 5:35pm. They registered the vehicle but refused to renew my wife's license because "they were closing and they had already stayed late." Huh? If you are not going to provide the service then make that decision before letting a customer stand in line for almost an hour! Guess I'll go to the RMV where I can get better service! read more

I went to AAA to renew my license. I thought it would be friendlier and speedier than going to the registry. It was definitely friendlier. It was speedier, but not by as much as it should have been. I got there and there was just one person in line in front of me, who needed to update his registration. He had to wait for the rep, who was chatting it up big time with another customer. Once he was taken, it took about 10 minutes, so I was psyched, since I was next in line. Another customer service rep then took my paperwork and filled out some info on the AAA computer. She said the next step was to move to another computer for the registry steps, and asked me to go back in line and wait while she checked in another person. And then yet another person, who also had to update his AAA membership. 20 minutes later, I was still in line. To her (or AAA), the process that makes sense must be to check all people in on the AAA computer, and then move all people over to the other computer. To the customer (me), it makes sense to complete my transaction end to end. It's not fair to keep me waiting like that. I hope my license picture does not have a scowl, because that is how I was feeling after waiting 20 minutes after essentially being first in line for license renewal. Please work on your process, AAA. read more
