WHAT an unfortunate event when my car's rim and tires where stolen late night around 2am. Fortunately the alarm went off before they could steal the third tire and was left with two wheels, my car on a Lo jack and some tools. Now this is where it gets more interesting because I only had one spare tire...I still needed the fourth wheel to tow my car reason being my car is an RWD BMW..and this became the challenge..mostly because it was a liability on both ends towing my car could cause damage to the front of the car while towing it and to that made the majority uncomfortable towing which had me uncomfortable...after having several suggestions to tow my car in a timely manner considering I would not chance another night for the robbers to come back and steal the remaining two wheels Paul Gomez with AAA at Hadley Tow made it happen! Paul got my car to the shop safely and just in time, he showed creativity, he was knowledgeable and walked me though the processes with care and patience. Walked into the Whittier AAA office to register my boat and trailer. After reading some bad reviews, I was hesitant. After checking in, Anthony helped me out. It took three visits, but it was a lot faster than the DMV would've been. AAA made it painless as possible. The only drawback is cash or check only for DMV fees. It's not their fault, DMV regulations. An ATM in the building would be great. I still give it 5 stars. read more

I would like to say that recently Becky ( Rabecca) at the Whittier location in Whittier California, was so helpful in helping us plan a vacation cruise. Becky was very professional as well as personable and got us the best pricing and helped us to understand the ship set up for the best cabin location to maximize our comfort for our trip. I was told by this AAA Club that I could get tags as of April 5. This is my third attempt to get tags and NOW they are saying I have to wait until 31! I paid my tags back in February! Such bullshit! Maybe one of the employees could get their stories straight! I mean lies maybe one of them could get their lies straight! Maybe I should cancel my card turns out they aren't helpful! I haven't written any bad reviews yet , but I feel so strongly this that I'm compelled to inform the public about this particular branch which is located in East Whittier CA. As we all know insurance companies are a pain in the butt when it comes to doing what promised to do, they'll take ur money with out hesitation but when they gotta pay they break out all the tricks- which is the purpose of this review. So a couple years ago I purchased a new vehicle, a lot of money went into my new truck so I came to the big name insurance company (AAA) so that I could get honest and reliable coverage---boy was I mistaken! After a year of having this policy I added my wife, and I sat with an employee as we made these changes- at that time I also changed my truck status to a work vehicle and agreed to pay extra for a rental if my truck was ever inoperable due to collision. So to make a long story short here I am like a sucker paying extra money every month for this needed coverage because my truck is a work truck that carries my ladder, tools, and materials. With all that my money is made and my bills are paid- most of all my family has food to eat and a roof over their heads. Now at this very moment I'm about to be late on two more bills and money is draining fast. The reason for this is that AAA refuses to give me a rental truck to get to work even tho I've been paying for it for over a year now- their reason is because they said that the rental was listed for my wife's car -huh? Why is that? My truck is the work vehicle not her car - so I reviewed my policy and my truck isn't even listed as a work vehicle!!! Somebody has clearly tampered with my policy or maybe just made a clerical error- so I called up this branch and gave them the situation-well it's been 2 weeks now and all I've gotten is run around- they like to apologize for the situation I'm in but have yet to correct it they directed me to the case manager of the claim and back to the branch manager. It's good old fashion BS! I paid months for this coverage and they don't want to honor it-all I hear is we're looking into it or I'm waiting for a call from the top , will be sending you an email soon, it's being investigated blah blah blah meanwhile I'm out of work because of this and it's destroying my family. This is a review about AAA WHITTIER, as well as AAA as a company. Part 1 is about DONNA from the Whittier office. She is so focused on relaxing every day in her cubicle and not actually doing anything to help her customers that I would not recommend her for my worst enemy. She refuses to do anything beneficial, and it seems like her motto is"clock in,act busy and fly under the radar,go home." Part 2 is about the companies policies and customer service. My rate for insurance has been extremely high forever, but I figured it was normal I had to pay for the best. Wrong. I've been with aaa for 8 years and finally said I've had enough and switched to a different company. Well I cancelled with Donna, I cancelled with 3 different customer service reps who called repeatedly and I still received a bill for backdated months. Are you kidding? For such an upstanding company to do business like a dingy mom and pop hustle shop, it's sad. Part 3 is warning anyone about to sign up, switch from or thinking about contacting aaa, especially Donna at the Whittier office, DONT. Save your time, money and sanity and find some other insurance. Wow. I have been paying for membership to get missed treated every time I come here. The DMV services inside always acts like us, customers, should know what we need to bring for our DMV services and that we shouldn't ask DMV questions. The greeter was very annoyed today. I never bring my AAA membership card since they can simply look me up in the system. Today it was bothersome. I came in to pick up the sticker for my license plate. I already paid for my registration. The greeter was annoyed that we didn't bring our paperwork. First of all, the previous rep never said to bring the paperwork back to pick up the sticker. I simply brought my vehicle information. Am I wrong? Heck! I don't work here or for DMV. She was simply super annoyed, gave me paperwork to fill out, & had us sit in the back. read more

Needed my truck towed 2 miles. Took AAA 3 hours to get to me. Every supervisor kept saying another 20-30 minutes. Been a member for over 12 years. The worst part is that I had my family and were stranded till past midnight when I'm only miles away. Very disappointed, had to call uber to get my family home after waiting 1.5 hours. read more

I had such an overwhelmingly positive experience here that I created a Yelp account just to leave a raving review! Everyone I interacted with was warm and kind, and I was in and out extremely quickly! I had to come back several times in one day (not their fault) and each time I came back they continued to blow me away with their efficiency and pleasant demeanor. Jessica was my hero today!! So there is two sides of this review. The first one starts with the good aspect; Ive been coming here since around when they first opened. I come in to pay for my monthly insurance and the staff that works that section of AAA are pleasant and informative. But recently Im beginning to feel that any other services that I need done, I should go to another location. I came in here recently to pay for the tags on my car. I came in around 9 am and noticed that they were that busy. I walk up to the front desk and struggle to get the attention of the older lady in the front. Without a smile or any type of greeting, she demands what Im here for and my membership card. Assuming that she's not having to good of a morning I hand my info over. She barely glances at my card and orders me to sit in the back of the building and wait there (which to find out from another representative it is not the correct place to go). As I wait for around 15 min in the waiting area, I notice they're are no other customers being helped. So I walk up to one of the associates (Daisy) and ask her if Im waiting in the right area. With barely acknowledging that Im asking her a question, she tells me that she's too occupied doing whatever she was doing and that she can't help me--thats it. Luckily as I turn around, another representative called me over and was able to help me. Like I said, not all of the staff here are incompetent, but a couple of them, such as Daisy made it seem like customers are not their number one priority. read more

I have been to this club many times in the past. Most of the agents are pretty decent but lately it seems the entire staff has declined. Possibly there is new management. I too experienced what Peter F did. I was greeted by a nasty grumpy old hag. She had me sit in the wrong area as well, wasting almost a half hour for no reason or apology. The agent that helped me with my registration on this visit was okay. I recently went there again because my wife and I are planning a cruise come this September. I am very busy and have called over 6 times over a week and a half span, leaving a message with no return phone call. Don't even think anyone from this branch will even answer the phone. I am utterly disgusted and will book my travel elsewhere and stay away from this location like the plague. read more

I had a great experience at this aaa this morning. I don't live in the area so this is not my normal office but was on my way from my hair appt to work and saw this so I was excited to be able to pull in and take care of business. I only needed to pay my registration and I had great service. The front desk asked me a couple questions and then sent me around the counter to the dmv pay line. The lady at that counter was nice and very pleasant. Got me out of there in 5 minutes or less! And was still able to make small talk about the weather and to wish me a good day! This AAA is amazing! Everyone is extremely helpful and super friendly. Multiple times when I've come here someone goes above and beyond with their service and I cannot thank them enough! I can really only speak for DMV services they offer, but I'm sure travel, insurance, and all other areas are just as good. The wait is never terrible either. I've waited about 10-15 minutes to be called even when they seem really busy. They transferred a car title for me with no problems at all, and changed my cars registration to non-operable somehow overcoming all the obstacles I had (I had a very grey area situation that they sorted out for me). Mr. James B I was going to comment on how helpful Rose was on the day this week when i went to AAAA in Whittier. I have always gone to this office for all my needs. I remember u and ur profile pic. When I saw your comment I was compelled to to put how u made me feel that day. First of all let me say that I do remember Jordonna because of her unique name and her personality follows. She helped me when my mother passed away and I needed to transfer her car into my name. I was so distraught and didnt know what to do. It took me 2 visits to finish this. Jordonna was so sympathetic and caring to my situation and praticaly walked me through everything. When i went this week to AAA i would have asked for her but due to covid I went with the first available. You sir were rude and in very distasteful words belittled her and called her unbelievable names. I hope very much you dont talk to the women in your family the same way. I have been a member of AAA for over 30 years and I have NEVER had a bad thing to say except for today. This review IS NOT directed at AAA, but at one of it's employee's by the name of Irene. Irene sits at cubicle 4 in the back and deals with DMV transactions. Today I went to pay registration ( a month early) on our son's car and get the title transferred over into his name. When My name was called, My son and I stood up and all that Irene said was "I will take you at window 4". As we sat down, we never received a "Hello", "How are you?" or even a smile. Irene stated "What do you need today?" Really??? Not even a "How may I help you?". I brushed this off and proceeded to tell her what I was needing to do. Irene lets out this sigh as if I was bothering her. I get out my paperwork and hand it to her. She then says to me "You need to date and sign here and here" - this while the paperwork was facing her and I could not see where I was needing to sign. Irene then turns the paperwork around and places it in front of me not even offering me a pen to use. I sat there for a few seconds until she stated I could use her pen -- with an attitude and rolling of her eyes like it was my fault I didn't have my own pen available. Once I dated and signed, she looks at my son and tells him to do the same thing. I hand him the pen I was using as he was not offered one. While my son was filling out his portion of the form, Irene takes a yellow highlighter and dotted a few places on another form that needed to be completed. She then tells me "You need to fill out the highlighted areas." As I was reading the areas that was needing to be completed, Irene again lets out a big sigh as if she was frustrated at my reading. I took my registration and proceeded to fill in the information required - again I hear a big sigh. I finally asked her if she had a problem because I did not appreciate the attitude I was receiving from her. Irene responded back "I do not have an attitude and I do not have to be talked to like that. I am an adult." Yes you may be an adult but you are an adult with an attitude. I told her that I wanted to speak to her supervisor and did not want her helping us anymore. Irene said "Fine" and she then tossed the papers at my son and I and got up to get her supervisor. The supervisor (unfortunately I didn't get her name) apologized and stated that she will speak to Irene. Irene was standing behind the supervisor and giving me very nasty looks. When I told the supervisor that Irene tossed the papers at us, Irene denied she did. My son had to speak up and confirm the fact and also complain about the attitude. The supervisor completed our transaction with a smile and even thanked me for my 30+ years of being a member and asked if there was anything more she could do for us. I proceeded to tell her that I really hope that Irene gets spoken to becasue if I were a new member and Irene spoke to me like she did, I would promptly cancel my membership. Again, this review IS NOT about AAA but an employee who needs a real attitude adjustment if she continues to work with the public. read more

I'm always amazed that you stand in a line to be told to go to another line. Liked it better when you could pay receptionist for renewal of road side membership. Instead I was not greeted when I walked up to pay line. Cashier was far too busy to look up and say hello. Finally looked up and said wait... When she did get to me I responded good day huh. She said "tough day, too many people" .... really I'm sorry you have to do your job! I then said "well good to have a job" ...I paid and left. AAA has given me very bad service especially this past year. I locked keys in car. Had to wait 2 1/2 hours late at night in a dark parking lot for help in Rowland Heights area. After waiting 2 1/2 hours I was told I had to wait another 2 hours due to other "priorities." It was late, I was not in a safe place. AAA dispatch said to have sheriffs wait with me (laugh). Finally, after 3 1/2 hours AAA car came by. AAA employee said he was only two blocks away all the time!! Dispatcher never called him! (I wonder if they push business to certain companies?) Another time, the same story; I had to wait over 2 1/2 hours for a simple ride back home in a local area, not more than a mile a away during daylight hours. I had to finally call a family member to take me home. This was in a local city area; not in the boonies! Another time I had my car towed for an estimate of repairs. Auto repair couldn't do the work. Asked for a tow back to my residence. AAA said No can do. Can't tow back to residence. I was stuck. Had to get on hands and knees to beg for a tow. I would have had to pay storage costs over the weekend because repair shop was closing. AAA makes up its own rules as they please as they go along with a tow. They do not disclose anything up front. AAA hires cheap towing companies who will leave your car in the street close by if it's too much trouble or difficult to tow where needed. I made numerous documented complaints to corporate about their service. I was promised a follow up and response. I am still waiting after several months of follow up. Complaints are totally ignored by upper management. All calls must go through customer service. Once I was successful to reach corporate management in LA. A corporate manager promised to resolve the complaints quickly but several weeks and months have gone by and it's always the same story; they never, never, never respond!! AAA is not the dependable towing company they used to be. PLUS AAA recently advertised in its Westways Magazine $40.00 off of four (4) new Michilen tires if you buy them all at once through Americas Tires which I did buy them as required. I still have the ad. I sent it to AAA because Americas Tires said it was not them but AAA who offered the coupon. But AAA acted surprised like they didn't know anything about the the ad in its Westways magazine. Now neither company will honor the discount though I bought all four tires under their rules. AAA claims Westways magazine is NOT their magazine though it says right on the cover they are the OFFICIAL Magazine for AAA. It's time for the Better Business Bureau of LA county and dept. of consumer affairs to be involved since AAA won't back up what they advertise. It's FALSE Advertising!! I have a full page color ad from AAA's magazine which I gave them a copy as proof which they have ignored up to this time. AAA have now become liars and cheats, and falsely advertise.They have very poor corporate management from both AAA and Americas Tires companies. AAA is the worst of both companies. Use caution especially when dealing with AAA. Don't believe or trust what they advertise anymore. They are no longer a reputable or reliable company. read more

I read some of these reviews and someone mentioned Donna yes indeed she is a gem calls leaves a message saying that my home owner insurance rate is going to go up and then never returns my call. I had a horrible experience with Whittier Branch I went in changed homeowners and auto to them and everything was great then once I signed up and they cashed the check, forget it suddenly no calls returned nothing. I was suppose to have a home inspection as part of homeowners policy I took time off work scheduled with the agent his last name was De Guzman he does not show up saying he had a flat tire. He says nothing about rescheduling I get a copy of my policy in the mail so figure everything is ok home inspection just formality. Then about 2 months later I get a letter from AAA underwriter that my homeowners policy is going to be cancelled because there is no record of a home inspection. I added my 16 year old son to our auto policy I had them run a projection of how much it would be when I added my son so I knew how much of increase I was looking at. When I added him the rate jumped way above what I was quoted. FIrst off the agent when I started the policy told me I would not have a rate increase for my son till he was 16 and a half which I thought was odd so I confirmed with him and he said AAA one of the only companies to have this policy, well that is not true my son got his license at about 16 and 1 month and the rate jumped immediately. I then looked at ways to lower my insurance and noticed my multi policy discount was not on my auto insurance. Multi Policy gone because they cancelled my homeowners because of no home inspection. Now get home inspection and after a couple of weeks still no change on my policy and get message from Donna that they want to raise my rate so I call the general number and find out even after home inspection was done pictures were not uploaded to underwriter so they cancelled the policy. Needless to say do not ever deal with Whittier AAA completely inept if you have issues call general number reps are professional and get the job done. read more

It was about 100 degrees outside when i walked in the door. The AC was desperatly needed relief. I checked in and waited for about 5 minutes before my name was called. I was helped by Laiza Montes who was absolutely wonderful. She helped me with all the changes that I needed to make to my auto insurance and she did it with a smile. I left completely satisfied as a AAA member and will recommend this branch to anyone who needs insurance. read more

I purchased Safari/San Diego Zoo discount tickets and paid $157 2 tickets on one sheet of paper and misplaced it. Based on AAA policies, there's no refunds and based on the other end - safari park/zoo - they don't want to intervine. I was disappointed on how the policies are dealt with. As an unhappy customer might reconsider a different car insurance. It really doesnt save us money anyway, to begin with. read more
