Terrible service. 30 day warranty means nothing. Charged double for parts and service.read more

Worst service ever! This company seems to be behind many of the appliance repair shops across GTA…read more I googled a shop called Appliance Repair Queen West, and when I called to schedule an appointment, this company's dispatcher desk took the call. The service call appt was booked easily ($75 for the call and is waived if you go forward with their service). The technician came the following day and took apart my dryer for 3 hours without finding a problem. He attempted to charge me for $150 but after stating my quote, he backed off. Red flag right there. The real problem came after he left. I realized he somehow messed up the electricity to my washing machine (my dryer and washer are connected by one electric panel). I called back the technician and he refused to admit his fault and come back to rectify the situation. When I called back the dispatcher desk, the associate who picked up was nice enough and told me they will look into it and get back to me. Later, after several follow up calls inquiring about the delay, the associate told me they would not do anything about it. He said that his manager claim that they do not know if the washer was broken in the first place, and that they will not take responsibility for it. When I finally got to speak with the manager, she was super rude and short with me, not even allowing me to fully explain the situation before snapping at me. She ended up refunding me the service call (We still have to see if they really will), but now I am still out ~5 hours of my life with nothing fixed and an extra washing machine broken. Beware!

I would choose zero stars if it were an option. This "company" is a scam. There are over 35 reports…read moreon the BBB where they have scammed people, mostly seniors, into a contract without their consent. It is very obvious with a quick search that 98% of the over one hundred 5 star glowing reviews on Google Reviews are fake names, and these "reviewers" are almost immediately praised by the owner. Ontario Home Protection is also listed on the publicly searchable Consumer Beware List on the Ministry of Government and Consumer Services website. They called my senior parents posing as the government and offering an energy rebate; instead they started debiting $67.79 from their bank account monthly. Their bank flagged this as fraud and stopped the payments. They have now sent a letter from their "accounts receivable department" Edje Capital Corporation, threatening to send my 80 year old parent's "unpaid account" to collections, although the bank stopped the payments over a year ago. My parents did not sign any documents or agree to their services. When my father called them, they played him a "recording" of him agreeing to their services, which was not even his voice. They are morally bankrupt and should be ashamed for scamming vulnerable seniors. They are now sending "urgent notices" that my parent's account is past due and payment must be made immediately or they will pursue legal action. What account? We have no documents verifying an account was signed up for (because there wasn't) and there is no account # listed on these notices. Both Ontario Home Protection and Edje Capital Corporation are conveniently run by the same fraudsters, Jeffrey Drutz and Elliot Kasem. A quick Google search will bring up a plethora of unsavory information about both of these people, as well as very similar reviews of how they scammed others into their services that no one signed up for. It's also worth mentioning that the CRTC fined this organization $160,000 in Dec. 2021 for violations of the Unsolicited Telecommunications Rules. BEWARE.
