DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE In Toronto, I purchased a new…read morewashing machine and within the first weekend it became clear the unit was not functioning properly--it wasn't switching cycles or drying at all. I contacted the manufacturer, who confirmed it was eligible for a full return within 30 days and advised me to return it to the dealer. When I approached Chad about the return, he became upset. It quickly became apparent that the unit may not have been brand new as I thought it was, as it seemed to be a returned item that had been sitting in his storeroom. Despite the manufacturer's instructions, he refused the return. In an effort to move on from the issue, I agreed to purchase a different model from him --one that was $100 more expensive than the same unit being sold at Home Depot at the time. When I asked for the refund difference between the two machines, Chad said his time was worth $250 and refused to issue the full refund. To make matters worse, I had to hire a professional to come in after the install and fix the venting that had been improperly connected when he finished with the new unit. I provided Chad with the invoice for that service, which cost me an additional $220, but he still refused to take responsibility. After years of purchasing appliances from this store, I'm extremely disappointed by how I was treated--especially being told I was "lying" about my experience. This level of customer service is unacceptable, and I will not be shopping here again. Beware!

25 years ago my son and I bought a house in Riverdale that was divided into four small flats. We've…read morerenovated the entire house bit by bit. At least my son has, I just held the tools! We've been calling on Chad for over 20 years to fix and maintain appliances for us. I thought it was about time I write a review for him. My son is a contractor, but sometimes needed help with the old appliances we inherited. Both my son and I have called him to fix various appliances in our home. We had a piggy back washer and dryer that had seen better days, upstairs in my place, he kept it alive with short visits every now and then for ten years. We finally had to admit it had go and bought a second hand super set on Kijiji. My son installed that. I have a frig in my kitchen, also on the second floor, that I bought to replace the clunker that was there and also finally died. I paid Chad $300.00 for it, second hand and refurbished, 15 years ago, it still works like a charm. That price included installation and removal of the old one. Last month it was time to address the washer and dryer in the lower unit. The washer had all sorts of problems, the dryer was dead for sure. Again Chad came, confirmed the dryer dead, sold me an almost new one, took the old (huge and heavy) old one apart and took it away, brought the new one in, installed it etc, including having to remove and then replace railings etc . He also rebalanced the washer replaced one $50 part, and the entire job cost me $600.00, including what Ipaid him for the new washer. He was friendly as ever, came when he said he would, and it was all done in three days! He's the first person I'd call, whenever I have a problem again, in the future.

Last Friday night, I was waiting for an order from Descendant and decided to check out some of the…read morebusinesses while I was waiting. I took a left from the pizza place and found Cookery. I looked at the sign placed on the sidewalk and it offers cooking classes. Cool! What drew me in was a pasta dryer. It was red and translucent. It looked cool. I walked in. There is a little ramp for those who may need a wheelchair to enter and exit the store. Perhaps I had luck on my side. I didn't have anyone asking whether I needed assistance. I like self-discovery when I have nothing in mind to shop for. A female staffer was assisting two other female customers. Judging from their conversation, they would be going at it for a while. One of them was awfully specific about the types of mini bowls that she had in mind. I was correct. They were still talking by the time I had completed by browsing excursion in this store. This store is more on the higher end of kitchen appliances and accessories. If you're looking for higher quality items, you want to shop here. I have a few examples. I found a stainless steel poacher for eggs. I frankly don't think that you need to get one for $15, but you can if you're dying to own one. I found a rather fancy-looking carbonation machine. It made my SodaStream machine that I love look like a toy. I love Le Creuset. It is truly an investment when you are buying pieces, so I don't own a lot of items. I normally hit an outlet or wait for a sale. This place had a silicone brush for basting turkeys or applying egg wash to your pastries before shoving them into the oven. It felt good in my hand until I saw that it was $25. Really? The cooking classes seem to happen at the back. There is a kitchen, but it had so many products around the cooking area that was obviously dormant. It was odd to me. You'd have to take all your products off before you have your cooking class. It seemed like a lot of work. Perhaps there's another kitchen area in the back that I wasn't aware of. Who knows? It was nice browsing around this store. I liked looking at the covered shopping carts. I grew up with a foldable metal one with two wheels. It was bigger that the ones offered here, but I like how your items are protected from the elements. The designed looked nice compared to my boxy ones that I've owned over the years when I didn't have a car and needed to walk to the supermarket down the street. I look forward to returning to this store and checking out their items some more. (31)

The service I received from Ronen of Total Care Appliance Repair was excellent. I called in the morning and he was there by early afternoon. Ronen was very professional, efficient and honest. The day before someone from a sham of a company told me I needed a new water pump. I felt he was insincere/slick/sleazy and he made me feel very uncomfortable so I decided to get a second opinion. He then offered me a "discount". His company only takes cash or debit---no credit cards. BEWARE of any company that wants cash only. Everything about this company was a giant RED FLAG to me. The next day I called Total Care Appliance and I'm very glad I did. Ronen did not try to sell me unnecessary replacement parts and had my dishwasher working again in no time. Ronen is upfront about the cost of repairs and his company accepts credit cards---like most legitimate businesses. I highly recommend Total Care Appliance Repair.

I had made a mistake and tried "recharging" my wool dryer balls by throwing them in the washing…read moremachine (as a few blog posts state to do!) however, whether by user error (me..) or by actual fact (like, are you not supposed to wash wool?) 4 out of 5 of our wool dryer balls completely fell apart and basically disintegrated during the wash cycle which I did not discover until i went to move the dryerballs and towels into the drying machine. Lo and behold, our washing machine did not drain and there was wool dryer ball fluff everywhere... I was panicking! I'd never broken a washing machine before! So I took to Yelp and found Ronen's company and messaged them through Request a Quote. Ronen got back to me SUPER quickly and was actually able to come the day after I reached out to them. He did tell me there was an initial diagnostic fee, but it could be credited to the repair. Ronen came during the time window that he gave me, found out what was wrong with the machine, told me what the issue was and quoted me on the spot (we had a broken drain that needed to be replaced) for about ~$415 + tax. I really needed the washer fixed, so I agreed and Ronen went ahead with the fix. All in all, for someone to have come the next day to find the problem and fix it within an hour or two while causing as minimal disruption to our family's day-to-day, I'd say Ronen's price was honest and worth it! From the time I used Request a Quote to the time Ronen walked out of our unit, the communication was clear, concise, and very helpful. Will definitely be recommending Total Care Appliance Repair to any friends in Toronto that need services!
