This review is long over due but here it is…read more My family didn't paint this house for 15 years. The paint peeled and wood rot all over. It is a big headache just thinking about remodeling. It is not just about money but finding the right contractor who would do quality work and not take our money and run. Cost is also a big concern since our house is huge and very high. I am in charge of finding the super hero to fix this gigantic mess. First, I called about 8 companies via Yelp to come and give me estimates. Some companies said my house is too big and tall so refused to do it. Some companies said it will take 3 months. Some companies wanted to charge me $100,000. Some companies unwilling to fix the rot wood. Some companies needed to rent scaffolds and hydraulic lift since the house is too high. Hydraulic lift is supposed to cost over $2,000. Yikes! I had about 2 weeks to get project done because fire insurance company threatened to cancel our policy if we don't fix up the house. I interviewed about 8 companies and found one perfect company: FD Painting. Why is FD Painting so excellent and won my heart? 1. They have contractor license and I insurance. 2. They were willing to fix all the rot wood. 3. Tino is also friendly and accommodating to different things I pointed out need fixing. 4. Their price is reasonable. The crew showed up to work everyday on time. 5. Their craftsmanship is also excellent. 6. They finished the entire project in 10 days (4 days ahead of schedule)!!! Hooray!!! 7. They didn't need scaffolds or hydraulic lift. 8. I didn't need to watch them while they worked. 9. They cleaned up well after the project. 10. They were honest and trustworthy. Priceless. I will share that I evaluate contractors not only how good the job turns out, but other things like…read morebeing on time, being communicative, and not being distracted constantly with phone calls and such. My job was doing wall and ceiling patches after a plumbing issue / fix. Some of the holes had acceptable undamaged drywall pieces, but also had holes with none of the original drywall. The wall also had texture, which they aspired to match. I still had my paint so they didn't have to get chips to recreate color. Ricardo showed up early to do his estimate, which I do recommend vs the online process. He indicated his team availability and provided a quote. After going through others who were either a lot more expensive (some had minimum job cost requirements) and some others had other things about timing, price, etc, I proceeded to hire Ricardo Painting. Hugo came early the next day and stayed on schedule with disciplined execution. Didn't try to rush - eg rushing mud to dry, or applying paint coats too early. He really wanted to match the wall texture and did a great job. I will know where the repair was, but only ones trying to find it will actually notice. They said less than 2 days, and it was done. Ricardo will remain in my Rolodex for the future.

That concerned me at first but now I know why he did It that way. There are no hidden charges and he does not nickel and dime. Other companies would charge extra for interior cabinet and closets. They wanted to charge extra for recessed lighting, electric plug/plate, and door knob removal. Alex did not. His price included EVERYTHING. He would send daily pictures and videos to show progress and would have suggestions for mistakes that were made by the previous painter. He was very thorough and professional with his job. He was great at returning texts/calls in a timely manner. He didn't ask for any more money during the job and sent a final invoice after the job was completed. He even installed a pull out trash can in an empty spot in my kitchen cabinets. He had all the materials shipped to his business so we wouldn't have to deal with it.
