Never call AAA. Their response time sucks and the dispatchers have no sense of urgency. We have been waiting on the side of a busy 4 lane hwy for 6 hours and had to call AAA 3 times in order for them to finally send someone our way. I have been an AAA member for almost 30 years. And I can assure you that I have never had worse service than this, from any company, ever. Where to start? So I inquired to get some bundled insurance. So a 'Salem, Oregon AAA representative' helped me get renters and auto. Initially she recommended Travelers. Then she said that Progressive would be better. Turns out, she got me TWO policies, one with each company! Who would have thought that was even possible!??? Not me! So I ended up paying over $500, for two of the same policies... as a single father who cannot afford this, to say that I was disappointed, is an understatement. When I called them or emailed them, I received no response, only an 'Out of Office' automated message. I ended up having to call multiple companies, on the phone for hours, to cancel one of the policies and hopefully get my money back, so that I can pay rent. But, it doesn't stop there! I also was told that I could get life insurance, and after providing my info, I was told that the underwriter was working on it. Well, my doctor called and told me that they called and requested information and that I needed to agree to release the information. I called and told them that I agree to release it, and then found out two weeks later that the underwriter never followed through and called them back to see if I released the records. So I got a notice in the mail that said that I was not qualified for life insurance with them. THANKS AGAIN, AAA!! But wait, there's even more! The whole reason that I contacted them to begin with, was that I went through a really tough divorce and I wanted to get my own bundled insurance policies, that were separate from my ex-wife's policies. So imagine my surprise (ONCE AGAIN) when I learned that my ex-wife's and my new policies were CONNECTED!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS AAA - I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO DISAPPOINTED IN A COMPANY. Imagine asking for help from a trusted company (known for helping people), and they mess it up so badly that it costs me a ton of money, time and anguish... not to mention that it also makes me want to cancel my AAA membership. You go back to your warm comfy room and dial your AAA roadside card number 1, sir we won't come to your location is beyond our 100 mile limit. I ask for a manager this is the second time in less than six months I have heard rotten answers I have had AAA RV Plus for over 20 years and the service like our inflation is headed down the drain, Simply put they said we will send a tow rig and take your truck home for $1.80 per mile plus the fuel charge at 4.20 per gallon bottom line I was looking at a 900 dollar bill to get my truck home, I will let the remaining term pass and will never use this company again period, as they say screw me once shame on you but screw me twice and you lose a customer read more

I am a 37-year member, with a Plus card which costs $99/year, and which I upgraded to for the extended free towing distance. In the single instance I needed a tow the dispatcher was brusque but the tow driver was courteous, helpful and on time; a knowledgeable friend prefers another road assistance program. For road assistance alone I would advise anyone to shop around. They are not my auto insurance carrier, no criticism intended, just statement of fact. Discount plans come with membership. They have helped with my medications and fees for certain tourist destinations. I have used their offices extensively for maps and travel guides. When I purchased luggage at their office the clerk was disagreeable and unhelpful with advice. I constantly get offers for cut-rate life insurance. It's easy to say no but I wish an organization once the gold star for service would not indulge in such sleaze. read more

I'm a member & I needed assistance when I drove to this office and then got a flat in their parking lot. The representative first told me they wouldn't call for me, I had to do that. Instead of offering me the 800 # I was left to Google it. Funny, with the bad reception in their lobby, the only number that came up was that of the office I was standing in. After I asked if they had a wifi password I could use since I was getting nowhere in my phone search the staff behind the counter decided to give me a little break and asked for my name to look me up. They found I wasn't a member anymore, and suggested I buy a new membership and pay the extra $75 for same day assistance. I figured I'd try to find other help and reenroll with AAA another day. Luckily my family was able to come help me fill my tire so I could get to a repair shop. When I got home I called the service center to renew my membership but they found my currently active coverage right away. Left me wondering why I pay for this? The Salem office certainly doesn't go that extra mile. read more

This AAA SUCKS!!!!! I am a 10-year customer. Horrible customer service!! Horrible timing!! Not consistent with their "policy" AT ALL!!! I have needed them 3 times since this past Saturday when my car stopped ON THE FREEWAY! I have a Plus card and needed a tow. They did not come out until 8pm (call was placed at 6pm) it was a so called "priority" call but obviously not. NO ONE asked to see my ID or my membership card. They barely even spoke to me just started hooking the car up to their truck. Today I needed it picked up from my residence to get to a mechanic. I advised the person I spoke with (at 9AM) that I am at work and clearly not at the location of the car. They did not make mention that they would need to see ID - otherwise I would have left work and caught an Uber or found a ride to meet them there. Here it is 3PM and the tow truck has FINALLY arrived!! Keep in mind I am still at work. The driver refuses to pick the car up and tow to the mechanic because I am not there to show ID!!! There was no notes made by the call center that I AM AT WORK AND UNABLE TO SHOW MY ID. No other alternative option was given to me at all. I had to call and get permission for my grandson to give them the keys funny they have not asked me for ID when towing ALL 10 YEARS of my time with them. I am livid as now the auto shop I was sending the car to is CLOSED! I will now have to spend yet another day dealing with their bullshit! So much for "Emergency roadside Assistance!!!" They suck!!! Ending my 10-year membership and finding a better company to help with this. $99/year for BS customer service I think not read more

Went through AAA. Waiting now over 3 hours for for tow truck in Salem Oregon. Have been told 3 different arrival times. Last one was he is less than 1 mile away....that was 1/2 hr ago. Does not take that long in salem or to go less than a mile. Someone is not being truthful. P&M Towing.....don't use them. read more
