Travel agent Susan did not return calls, and 19 ladies bought a cruise from her. she constantly said she did not make much money on us, didnt provide luggage tags, lanyards, or the standard thank you bottle of wine or sweets. This place is UNREAL!!! I can't believe they stay in business. Ive been here two times to add money into a AAA Travel Card. EACH TIME they said the same exact excuse. "The lady who does it isn't here for a week she is sick" and they send me to the AAA which is 25 mins away from me. AAA has many programs available. In my particular case, I purchased their program based on the roadside assistance. I trusted their expertise, local connections and customer service. Sadly, here are the FACTS of my poor decision. At 9:09pm Last night, I had to request a tow for my vehicle to the repair shop. I removed the car from the mainstream traffic, parking it in a spot at the Oaks at Lakeside. My estimated time for the tow was 2 hours. 11:09pm came and went. I placed a call back to AAA to ask for an updated time. The person I spoke said she was unable to tell me when the vehicle would be picked up and would not give me an estimated range. I gave it another hour, and finally came home to get some sleep. I kept my phone on ring in case I was notified of it being picked up. No calls came in overnight, so I went to check on the vehicle. It was gone. I called AAA, spoke with someone who was unable to tell me if my vehicle had been towed or not. She waffled between it being picked, not being picked up and told me how difficult her job was reviewing 2 pages of notes on this pickup. Her final answer was that my car was not picked up by their towing and no truck had yet been dispatched to pick it up. Fun fact, at 8:57am a tow truck was finally dispatched with a pickup time after 10am, nearly 12 hours since the request. If I had been on the side of the road, I would have been there for 13+ hours. After calling around, we found that although the vehicle was parked in a spot in the front office parking lot, the oaks at lakeside had it towed and it was at in impound yard. After speaking with the in-pound yard, I called the Lakewood Ranch AAA branch for guidance on my next steps to have the vehicle towed from the impound lot to the mechanic. I was told that they do not have a "manager" onsite and that they do not handle anything to do with roadside. Their only help was to transfer me to AAA complaints. AAA complaints, I'm so sorry that you had to go through that. We can transfer you onto someone else. On that call, I was told that I could submit receipts for reimbursement but if I want to know what will be covered, I have to talk to the reimbursements department. Thankfully though, they can mail a form out to me to submit my receipts, not email, only mail. AAA reimbursements says right on their message, please allow three weeks for us to process your reimbursement. 30 minutes on hold, finally gave in and left a message. 4 hours and counting, no call back. Interesting fact that I learned when arranging my own towing from impound to my mechanic. With rising part costs, gas costs, AAA has refused the price increases of the local towing in manatee county. This has led to a significant amount of companies dropping AAA. For Bradenton and Sarasota, there is a high likelihood that your tow truck will come from Tampa or Port Charlotte. In all of this, you might think like I did, maybe tow trucks just weren't available. Elmer's towing who towed me today said they were running last night and had plenty of available time. Had I have reached out to them directly, my tow would have been completely quickly and I would not have had two separate tows costing an extra $200. read more

I have been a AAA Plus member for over 15 years. I contcted this local office for a homeowner's insuracne quote and some guidance. No one answered the phone but there was a voicemail that said I would receive a call back. I provided detailed information and my contact number. I repeated my number three times to make sure they got it right, It has been over 48 hours and no call back. My initial impression was sorta BLAH, but when we had an issue with our Princess account on a cancelled cruise booked through this AAA travel group they refused to work with us on resolving the issue. Told us it was a problem between us and Princess. However when contacted, Princess asks us to work this through the travel agent along with them. Since the travel agent won't help, I won't be booking any travel with this group in the future. They were happy to help when we were buying something, but when we need support they are not willing to do so. Very disappointed. read more

Dealing with AAA Florida has been a complete nightmare since I was hit by a Sarasota resident, AAA member in Texas last Thursday 10/11. Besides being on the phone with AAA for 2.5 hours trying to get a tow truck to tow my vehicle after she hit my car, the AAA employee could never get my name/car/damage correct and constantly confused me with their client. I have since gotten two calls and both had My information/car/damage incorrect and had my info as their clients info. Crazy!!! Then I was told they would not tow my vehicle that I had to pay for it myself and get reimbursed later. She hit me!!! And my car was not drive-able!!! I should have left the car where it was honestly. She hit me!!! So far I still have not been able to go to work because I have no vehicle and I am still waiting on Her AAA to 1/give me a rental car so I can go to work and 2/fix my car and it's been 7 days.......I and a AAA premier member myself (roadside assistance) and I would never ever never never never suggest a friend to get auto insurance coverage from AAA. If they treat me, the victim this way, I can only imagine how they treat their own customers. Ps-I have liability only insurance on my auto that is a 16 year old vehicle therefore I cannnot get a rental car from my own insurance and I cannot afford to rent a vehicle. Totally finished with any AAA offices. Last year my husband and I had an insurance issue due to a cruise cancellation. Although we had all the medical documentation to support our contention, the carrier, Allianz, did not honor our claim. The Lakewood Ranch office, where we had gone to book cruises since 2009, was lukewarm in supporting us, up to management level, even though we were long-term clients. Trying to deal with Allianz directly was a waste of time. We consequently sent a letter to the AAA regional director for our area, who never replied or even acknowledged our certified letter. Only recently--yes, this matter has been ongoing since last summer!--did we send a certified letter to the president and CEO of AAA. Again, no reply. Total stonewalling at every level of this organization. Needless to say we have dropped our membership after 10 years! Never, ever again. Our advice is to beware of this organization.
