I had tried to do this online through the DMV website multiple times, but ran into issues, so I decided to go in person. The staff at AAA were incredibly helpful and efficient. From the moment I walked in, they made the process smooth and easy. The team quickly assisted me with the paperwork, and the whole thing was done in no time. I appreciated how friendly and professional everyone was. As for the value, I thought the service was reasonably priced, especially considering I didn't have to deal with the DMV website glitches or long wait times. I was traveling through the Gilroy area. I was expecting license plates for a vehicle, which DMV had sent to an incorrect address. The plates had been sent back to the post office. I attempted to contact the post office and DMV numerous times without success. I went to the Gilroy branch of AAA. They were extremely helpful. They checked into the matter and issued new license plates on the spot, all within around 10 minutes, and that was without an appointment. They are very professional and knowledgeable. Great AAA Branch office. Good location with plenty of parking, and nice and clean. They make being a AAA member well worth it. read more

Worst customer service. As I was walking up to the door, someone posted this sign. I asked if I could just get my registration sticker and the woman said "sorry, we're ALL going to lunch." If this is a normal business practice for this location, I would reassess their operations and management. There were approximately 6-8 employees behind her. It seems very unprofessional of her to 1. Turn me down for a simple request; 2. Have all employees go to lunch at the same time; and 3. Apparently customer service is not a goal for this location. I (and all the other people waiting at the door) would probably be more understanding if their posted hours indicated the office was closed from 12-1:15pm every Saturday for lunch. Driving 45 minutes to be turned down when they should be open is very frustrating. I see why they're ratings on Yelp is subpar. Do NOT waste your time with this branch. I have roadside assistance only. So you can come here for DMV registration to make it "faster". Ha... faster my ass. I went to the Hollister DMV and they walked us through paperwork to transfer my dads jeep to me (he passed away). We had to wait until 40 days after death to transfer to me. I came here and the lady said we filled out the paperwork wrong. I told her that the DMV walked us through it. But they made us redo it. So I get to the desk and he said I have to fill out 2 more forms to keep the custom license plate. It should have been no charge. He said it was $120. I said "why the hell is it $120? is that for registration? I pay $40 for each of my vehicles plates." He said its $120 for just to keep the custom plates. That the registration is good until March. I said well then I shouldn't have to pay anything if I just get regular plates correct. He said it's too late he already ran the transaction. He should have told me BEFORE running the transaction. I didnt even pay yet so how the hell did he run the transaction already? Bullshit. Next time I'll just go back to Hollister DMV and not waste my time here read more

Never go to AAA for any insurance!!!!! I have it for almost 10 years. Not this place, but the AAA they company overall is a very bad business with bad work ethics. It just collects more and more money without offering any help. I mean "any help " means when I am not at fault, they don't even care and offer help, and let the at-fault side escape, and let me to be the obedient to get one point. Then they charge me $6000+ for one car for half a year. AAA agents are lazy and weak. They don't even have any willing to help us. They don't make any efforts to help. I have recently moved to Arizona and I wish I could have brought him with me. I still reach out for help and assistance yes even in Arizona. This office decided to make-up their own hours. They now close at 5:30pm, even though their hours listed online states 6:00pm. Decided to try them again on another day and when I arrived prior to their 5:30 closure, their payment system went down "globally". This office is falling apart. Never had any issues prior. Hopefully something is done to correct this branch before they loose clients. read more

I just attempted to pay my adult daughter's registration and was told after I paid that I needed to get the vehicle smogged and then come back to finalize the transaction. They processed the full payment without a hitch but couldn't provide a reasonable answer to why I needed to come back after the vehicle is smogged and electronically transmitted to the DMV. I was told that since it was an "in office transaction" it had to be concluded that way even though all the paperwork would be mailed to my daughter and not given to me. Makes no sense other than to punish customers for not using the kiosk or going through DMV online or mail. To add customer service insult to injury the front receptionist was applying makeup while looking at her compact mirror as I walked out. read more

What is the point of providing DMV services if your husband can't pay your registration and receive your tags even when you have joint insurance policies together, a joint checking account, and his driver license has the same address. Do they really think a random person will pay our fees and run off with the tags?!?! They will only provide the tags to the individual named on the registration. Are they planning to reimburse me for my hours lost at work especially during these times???? We could have very easily done this online but thought they might be more helpful. My mistake. Don't waste your time or gas money going into this office. Even speaking to the manager proved to be fruitless. I will most definitely be contacting corporate. read more

I came to the Gilroy branch and the representative that helped me has the worst customer service and does not know how to make a customer feel welcome. Registration payment - supposed to be In and out! Instead the one cashier was acting like a social worker explaining situations, how to fill out forms, trouble shooting peoples registration problems. I was there for 25 minutes when I could have been done at the DMV kiosk in 5-10... and still had to leave w/o my registration up to date so I wouldn't be late picking my kids up from their after school program. Nice new building but apparently is under staffed on saturdays. No where online did it say in order to get an out of state license plate transferred did you need an appointment and that I couldn't get it completed as a walk in. On the TV screen in the facility it showed an advertisement to help save time for DMV items to use AAA but the fact that I can not walk in and that I have to get an appointment on a weekday and not weekend is exactly like the DMV and why I was going to AAA instead. Disappointing experience when I have had AAA since I first started driving over 20 years ago. Will not return to this location and think twice about the premiums I pay for services that when I attempt to use that I am turned away. read more

As a 30 year member of AAA, I called the Gilroy Tripple AAA office, and my phone call was answered by a unprofessional man who from the moment he answered the phone sounded like he was being bothered. I informed him that I had found online that Tripple AAA does provide specific DMV related help to their Tripple AAA members. If you call all the AAA branch phone numbers, their recordings clearly states that they provide specific DMV help to their members. The man's rude and offensive manner took me aback. He responded that he was not the DMV and didn't think that AAA offers any DMV services and that he would ask around his office and have someone call me back. He kept talking over me, not letting me talk to tell him that I already knew that AAA offers that specific DMV service to AAA Members. He cut me off and told me he would try to have someone call me back. When I asked him if I would be receiving the call today, his answer was that he did not know when they would call me back. This type of employee gives AAA a really bad reputation. Hopefully he's not in management. read more

First and last time at this branch!!! I usually deal with my agent directly but I needed to get a document notarized. My first mistake was walking in 5 minutes before the branch closed but I have a family emergency and needed to leave early the next morning and needed to have a single document notarized. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by and older lady who just said "fuck" super loud. One of the other ladies was willing to assist me but this one lady just kept being rude and telling me they would not assist me if I wasn't a customer. I am a customer but I will no longer be renewing my insurance through AAA. No wonder this branch has such awful reviews. read more

By far the worst service, looked them up online for their DMV service. I called them up asked if they closed at 6:00 pm for DMV process ? He says nope be here by 530 for your DMV PAPERWORK.. I get there at 5:20pm hostess at the door .. very rude. Telling me nope it's closed.. it's was 5:20! wasted 2 hours of my time to get there before 5:30pm ... Hostess at the front door wasn't trying to help. Another young lady wanted to help, but unfortunately the hostess wasn't helping. For future reference, make sure all the employees there are all refreshed on when they close. As for the gentleman that answered when I called. I think you did your part. Thanks for helping.
