I don't know how to really grade them. I thought by the name that this was a coin shop. This is a room, not a coin shop. If you are looking for a traditional coin shop, this is not it. Once you get over that hurdle you will be fine. The staff is very easy to talk to. Very comfortable. They specialize in getting merchandise in, then getting merchandise out. They sell merchandise by volume. I really had a pleasant time in the room, they just could not help me at all. I will not be going back to AAA Coin as they are not selling coins. They should change their name to better describe what they do. read more

The people that work here a very honest and fair. I was in the middle of someone selling all their silver, and the person behind the counter told him to hold it because the price of silver is going up and it'll be worth more in a couple months. This shop is like stepping into a bygone era of Chicago, especially with their hilarious adaption of Hopper's "Nighthawks" featuring Harry Caray and a cast of other classic characters. I went in for a watch battery replacement and the guys were enthusiastically assessing some vintage dollar bills while simultaneously negotiating with a potential buyer (on speaker phone). They were very friendly and replaced my Movado battery on the spot in less than 5 minutes for just $5--but the best part was they didn't have change to break my $20 so they actually gave it to me for free! I will definitely go back for any jewelry repair needs in the future. I wanted to shop local and find somewhere I could have a watch band replaced. I didn't know just how close I would find someone! I wasn't sure that they would do a simple watch band replacement given all of the extraordinary services that they offer but they did! I never had occasion to use a business like AAA Coin, but after my mother's death I found quite quite a collection of old quarters, half dollars and silver dollars. After looking through them it was fairly obvious there were no rare coins but with the price of silver up the melt value could be substantial. I searched other shops on line and read reviews and ultimately settled on AAA Coin. I am happy I did. My wife and I made our way to West Irving Park and found honest experienced professionals that do this type of work every day. They sorted the bags of coins, weighed them and calculated the melt value for each category.
