I've been a member for over 40 yrs, since 18 yo. I also now have car insurance with them. This week I just had an experience trying to reach a live person for over a week. That's inexcusable. I was trying to give AAA more business and I can't get help. This is after four called to the Auburn ofc and put on hold for customer service to help me. After at least 20 to 30 on hold I hung up. Total 1.5 hours on hold with no help. This is not the AAA I've known. I did finally get help through a chat and tool 15 min. If you aren't answering phones any more, it might be good to let your customers know. With this business model you are going to lose a tin of business. Very disappointed read more

The staff here is exceptional and very nice. Stephanie helped us and she is very sweet and knowledgeable. The only problem is they don't seem to have enough employees. I overheard one employee say that Monday is the busiest day, yet they have 2 employees working and that's it? I waited over 2 hours here, and remember you may wait as well, especially if you visit on a Monday or a Friday. We decided to get AAA towing insurance or rather roadside assistance. We had it for three years when came the day that we needed it. I broke down on highway 20 and 106°. I called AAA and my first ETA was 120 minutes. 120 minutes. I sat there in the heat for two hours when my phone pinged and I got an update for guess what, another 120 minutes. I called every possible agent office that I could. I finally realized it had become an emergency. I was overheated, and my face was literally purple and, I was so nauseous, so I made the call. It took another two hours for a total of eight hours sitting in the heat before I got help. Then came the bill, $300. I contacted AAA and gave them all my receipts that I had. Nothing came and I contacted them again two months later when I never received a check. They said that my bill was unreadable and needed an original. I drove to grass Valley and was handed a full on original receipt which I submitted to them. Another two months went by when I contacted them and was told that they could not read the date. Yeah, they couldn't read the date. So I got another original and sent it in immediately. I was then told that my bill had expired to be paid for by AAA. Talk about a scam. We went with another insurance company and were told by them that it's very common for AAA to withhold information, hoping everything expires. That's exactly what happened to us. Don't trust AAA. Their main job is to make sure they don't have to pay out any claims. read more

My agent, whom I handed $2000 to for my car insurance, won't return my emails or phone calls. An agent who won't return calls? His initials are KP. Well, it turned out to be a good thing because I've gone to another insurance company, and on the same two cars, same exact coverage with 50% less deductibles, I ended up paying $1100 for the two cars! Say what?!? I'm getting an RV (I was trying to reach him to get a quote on the RV) and even with the RV, full coverage, same deductible, my insurance will be $1500. Ongoing saga of AAA. Zero customer support. Called to place a complaint for the horrific treatment received by AAA who left me stranded on the freeway for 9 hrs. Refused to locate a tow company to tow my vehicle after the one (of only two) in the area claimed my truck with camper was unsafe to tow - even though this particular rig has been towed 3 times by AAA and I have RV coverage on my policy. I have now been told by AAA that there is no one other than the rep I was speaking to that I can speak to - not even her immediate supervisor. Are you serious?! Been with AAA for 20 yrs - this is appalling treatment to one of their clients. Looking into a policy with Good Sam - Fuck AAA! You should treat your clients better! I had called AAA main number to see if I could get my pink slip re-printed because mine was faded and torn. I was told on the phone it could be done, and to bring in the original to the Auburn office. When I walked inside the reception area, I was pleasantly greeted by a customer service representative who took my information and the reason for my visit. While waiting at the reception desk, we spoke on various issues. I was soon greeted by an associate and explained my issue, and was affirmed that I could get my vehicle's pink slip re-printed. Upon my information being taken and seeing my pink slip by the representative, the representative looked online and saw my vehicle's registration, but she had to ask her co-worker for assistance. Once they discussed their findings, they informed me that they couldn't help me, and, only DMV could generate a re-print pink slip. I was already frustrated and distraught when I went inside, but I was hopeful, so upon leaving, I was more perplexed, disappointed, distraught and weary, especially since I queried this issue prior to my visit. Once inside my car, I looked for my pink slip inside my purse, my carrying case and inside my car, but I couldn't find it, so I returned to the office inquiring as to had I left it there, but was told they had given it back to me, so I left without my pink slip. Anyway, I later made an appointment with DMV Roseville who was very helpful, willing, able and more qualified to handle all my vehicle registration requirements. Though the AAA staff was nice, they weren't equipped to resolve my problem, in which I think they should know their limitations on what they can and cannot do prior to untrue statements. read more

For anything other than registration just go to the real DMV! After 30 minutes in line (I was just second in line and constantly heard one of the non-smiling agents say "Sir please let me do my job!") I was told that I would have to make an appointment to have a VIN verification - next appointment was in 7 days! Suggested that in the time that it took to set up an appointment we could have done the VIN verification. Ended up going down to the Auburn DMV where the agent was pleasant and helpful, went outside to do the verification (which only took 4 minutes), and completed my title application with a smile. AAA Towing and Insurance are top notch - their DMV is a waste of time! read more

I have been an AAA member for 40 plus years. Last time I renewed my membership they changed it from myself as primary to my husband. Ticked me off big time. Then we didn't receive the cards. Finally got that straightened out and I called for a tow. After a 30 minutes wait I received a call from towing company we don't tow TESLA's. I asked you do not tow or AAA doesn't tow. Call you right back. 30 more minutes pass I call AAA again. Being told that the only one in Auburn that tows Tesla's charges a commercial rate. Maybe I can be reimbursed. I call my insurance company for a tow. Guess what they have someone coming out. An Auburn company, different than the one AAA mentioned and it isn't going to cost a dime.
