I am extremely disappointed with my experience with C & J Buckeye Repair in Girard, Ohio…read more I initially called to ask about the price for a washer diagnostic service. The receptionist seemed irritated, but gave me the pricing information, and I explained that I would call back after speaking with my husband. About five minutes later, I called back to schedule the appointment. The phone rang twice and then went straight to voicemail. I called again two more times, several minutes apart, and each time my call appeared to be declined and sent directly to voicemail. Shortly after my third attempt, I received a text message from an unknown personal cell phone number stating: "Hi there, this is Kristy from Buckeye Appliance Repair. I will not be scheduling new appointments for the next week. Sorry for any inconvenience." What made this situation even more upsetting was that I had my mother called a couple hours later asking for the exact same service and was immediately told they could come out the very next day. The only noticeable difference between our calls was our names (which show on the caller ID). I have a distinctly African American name, while my mother's name is Sandi. I cannot say with certainty what motivated the different treatment, but based on the timing and circumstances, the experience felt discriminatory and deeply uncomfortable. If appointments truly were unavailable, I believe that should have been communicated honestly and professionally over the phone instead of repeatedly declining my calls. I always try to support local businesses in my community, which is why this experience was so disappointing. Unfortunately, because of how I was treated, I would not recommend this business to others.

We determined it wasn't the washer (it was a drain hose issue). But after he left the washer wouldn't work at all. I panicked a bit and called in and texted asking them to send him back. The man I got on the phone in the office was a D-bag! Instead of saying "He's already on another job and let me see if I can help" he replied with "He's already in Canton, I can't just send him back. He's working on a $15,000 appliance job. He's an expert on those machines. He'll have to call you" It wasn't only WHAT he said, but HOW he said it. Super dismissive. Well thanks for letting me know I'm not important because my washer wasn't worth $15,000. Dean called me back and explained that I had to unplug and reset the controls and everything was fine. Why couldn't the guy on the phone just say "He's at another site, but I will find out what's wrong and call you right back or send someone else" Dean you were great, your manager....not so much.

The best part about these guys, their initial service fee is not outrageous, like I see with most others appliance services. The service tech they sent, Jerry, although a young man in his early 20s, he was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Luckily, my furnace only needed an adjustment to the gas pressure to place it back in normal operating mode. So my initial fee covered his visit and the adjustment, unlike other vendors I've used in the past where they look for things that they can charge you more or say they're about to break, just to charge you more money for the service. I'm pleased to say, this is NOT the case with this company..... I highly recommend this company!!!!

My husband contacted Nemcheck for a service call and they were able to come out in a very timely manner. Due to our AC unit being located under the deck, and the fact that it was 24 years old, it was running constantly, and it was determined that there was an issue. It was more cost-effective to purchase a new AC unit. The technician was very thorough in explaining what our options were. Rob came to determine where we would like our new AC unit , to confirm the AC unit we wanted , and to take measurements also . Again, he was very thorough in going through the options and what was going to happen with the install. After ordering the unit, the Nemcheck team arrived for our scheduled install. The whole team was very friendly, respectful and working hard all day. My husband and I are thrilled with our AC unit and would absolutely utilize Nemcheck Heating and Cooling in the future. Stellar, highly recommend!

I normally don't leave reviews, but I feel like people need to know what kind of service I received…read morefrom AEY Electric. When we bought our house, we noticed their sticker was already on our electric box, so naturally, we called them to come out and fix the problems we were having. They confirmed they did indeed install our electric in the home. The entire house had issues--lights flickering in different rooms, power cutting out if too much was running at the same time, and overall shortages throughout the home. When their techs came out, they didn't know how to fix any of the issues. They wasted our time, left us with no solutions, and then still sent us a bill for almost $300. A year later, we received a collection notice for that bill--even though they never actually fixed anything in our home. On top of that, the customer service was rude and unhelpful. Instead of trying to resolve the problem, they were dismissive and disrespectful. For a company whose name was already on the box when we moved in, this was beyond frustrating and unprofessional Bottom line: They charged us for nothing, gave us zero solutions, and treated us poorly in the process. I would not recommend AEY Electric to anyone.

In other words, we could not do our laundry. I called a few repair places. None wanted to help us because the washer was manufactured by a Canadian company. However, two did come in to take a look at it (charged service calls); and both told us to get a new washer. I finally found Ben's Appliance Service. He came, diagnosed the problem, and ordered the parts. He must have known that the parts needed for our washer were the same as the parts for other washers. In two days we were back to washing clothes, and the washer has been working like new. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !
