Manni was able to schedule us quickly which we were thankful for, as we did not want to be making any bad habits worse due to our pet inexperience. Once Manni arrived for the initial evaluation, it was obvious that he is highly skilled and knowledgeable. Our dog was freaking out worse than me or my husband had ever seen, but Manni was completely calm and professional despite all of the barking and growling. During the evaluation, Manni gave us tons of information on why our dog does the things she does and how to begin to correct the behaviors. By the end of the evaluation, he and our dog were also close friends. A couple of days after the evaluation, Manni emailed us our full comprehensive training plan. He has also been extremely available and responsive to our texts regarding questions that have popped up here and there. Yet another thing that I highly respect is that Manni didn't immediately lay out a multi-visit costly plan, as it seems like so many places are apt to do. It is obvious that Manni truly loves dogs and wants them and there owners to succeed!

I was anxious for months because he didn't get along with my parents' tiny Schnauzer. How was he going to survive two weeks? I felt better when I learned that Rusty would work with the dogs a few times per week. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw photos of Oz and Charlie peacefully coexisting. My parents also learned a ton of dog training tips to bring home and share with us. We used a few different dog trainers in San Francisco when Oz was a puppy, but it wasn't particularly helpful. After spending a couple of hours at our home with Kirsten, she identified most of the issues, worked with us and the dog, mostly showed us all of the things WE needed to change and/ or stop doing that were helping to encourage this behavior (pretty eye opening), etc. I'm also a pet care company owner and thought I was doing mostly the right things - I wasn't. Lol After she left, we worked with the dog, following her instruction. Literally later that same day, the dog was in my husbands lap, and even snuggling him!! She had never gone near a man ever. Not even in her prior home!!!! And the best news yet, she got adopted a few days later by a family with two males and two females. I gave them all of Kirsten's instructions, and the dog is already bonding with the men...... even quicker than the women at this point. Success!!!!!! Kirsten will give you the instruction and foundation you need to help you and your dog. But please keep in mind that Humans and the dogs are a work in progress .......so if you decide not to follow any of the instructions that are given afterwards, odds are this won't be successful. The biggest problem was that she was chasing our cats everywhere around the house and had terrible manners. We were worried that we would have to return her to the shelter if she couldn't cohabitate with our 4 cats. I scoured reviews on Google and Yelp and came across Primal Needs Behavioral Solutions. I reached out and Blair was willing to hop on a call right away. He patiently listened and answered several questions, then explained he offers two programs; a month board and train or virtual training with Zoom session checkpoints. Although it was an investment, we opted for the board and train for Amber. At the same time, we did the virtual training for our other dog Ginger, a golden retriever. While Blair worked one on one with Amber at his house, we went through the online modules in the virtual program. The program is very detailed, including videos and narratives for each section. Blair was readily available for any questions or concerns we had along the way. The program does use an e-collar and we were initially apprehensive, but once we understood this was simply a tool to get our dog's attention and tried it on ourselves, it was not an issue. Like most programs, you get out what you put in. We did the work, learned a ton from Blair, and made a friend for life, but most importantly, Amber came back behaving like a different dog and the training worked! She is still a sweetheart, but now listens and behaves well. Blair has taught us how to communicate, correct, and redirect our dogs when needed. Now, our Houla has gone through basic obedience training a while back and knows commands, but just is a bit "independent" at times and it can be challenging. Nick was able to guide us on how to train our Houla, using verbal commands, non- verbal hand commands, available tools, and his vast experience. I swear he is a dog whisperer. Please remember, YOU have to do the work too. You cannot expect anyone to train up your dog and not put in the required effort to maintain and reinforce the training. We have been guilty of that in the past too. No more though! Our desire is to have a well trained k9, who consistently follows commands and is a valued part of our family pack. We believe in Nick to much that 1) we will enroll our Houla in additional programs Consistent K9 has to offer and 2) have already refused to be poached by another trainer!
