September 20, 2020…read more Dr. Venable and staff at Sterling Pointe Vetrinary, My name is Erin Justus and I wanted to let you know how happy and thankful we are after receiving the PRP treatment for our beautiful long hair shepherd, Maui. Maui is only 5 years old and started showing trouble getting up, limping, and discomfort. She could not even make it one time around our neighborhood for a walk, could not jump in the car, could not run and retrieve her beloved ball. She lost all zest for life, and it was so sad to watch her move like a 15 year old dog. We often cried with the thought that we would have to put her down because of her pain. We had looked into hip surgery but the cost was too expensive for us. Remember, Maui is only 5 years young! My daughter-in-law told me about Sterling Point Vet and the PRP treatment that they do to help dogs with hip dysplasia and lameness. We scheduled an appointment for a consultation with Dr. Venable and she felt Maui could benefit from the treatment. On August 6, 2020 Maui had her PRP treatment and within 2 days she was feeling fine, not needing any pain pills, and showing improvement, not only in her ability to get up a little better, but the look in her eyes that she was free from her discomfort! Within, 2 weeks, she was stretching out her back legs when she got up in the morning, which she was never able to do before( she would try in the past but she just couldn't do it). She is now walking, jumping in the car, chasing the ball, and full of life as a 5 year old shepherd should be! We are so thankful for Dr. Venable and the staff and the success of the PRP treatment, we would recommend this to any one who has a dog struggling with hip dysplasia. Thank you so much, Dr. Venable, we are eternally grateful for educating us about this treatment, the cost effectiveness of it, and your help in giving Maui her life back!! Sincerely, Erin Justus Roseville, CA

We have been taking our dog here for years. I'll start by saying that, 4 years ago, we felt like…read morethis place was great. As time went on, however, it feels like we only became a money pool for them. Our dog began to have recurring skin & ear issues. We were told 3 different ways to clean him by 3 different people who worked here, but none of these treatments worked. In fact, they made it worse. We ended up figuring it out on our own, which is unfortunate being you would hope a vet would be able to give experienced advice, let alone 3 of them. We overlooked this as the business was always very kind and seemed to have our best interest in mind. As his skin and ear issues became worse, despite our best efforts, the only thing we walked away with every visit was a $300-$400 bill and the same medication that basically just kept the issues from getting worse. Finally, after years of bills and medication / guidance that did not solve anything, we tried a different vet. They prescribed him medication and his skin and ear issues went completely away within a week. It is the first time in years we have seen his skin and ears look so good and he seems happier. I don't write reviews often but it sort of hit me that our dog had been dealing with medical issues for years and we trusted this place with setting us up for success to make sure we were getting our dog what he needed. Then, after thousands of dollars, a new vet solves everything in a single visit. Hopefully we are a one off. But I would not recommend this business.

We've been bringing our beloved 6-year-old Goldendoodle to Grooming by Susie for about five years,…read moreand they've been consistently wonderful. If you have a doodle, you know the coat can be a lot to manage. My doodle has a pretty curly coat, so having a careful, experienced groomer really matters. Susie (the owner) and her team always do a great job with her. I try to stay on top of brushing at home, but sometimes she gets into mud or water and I don't dry and comb her as well as I should... so she occasionally shows up a little matted. Susie and her team are always kind about it and get her looking great again. I also really appreciate that they communicate, like when they've called to let me know she was more matted than expected and that they might need a little more time to take her coat a bit shorter than planned. The biggest sign that this is a place that truly cares about dogs: my doodle is excited to go. As soon as we park and I open the car door, she pulls me straight to the shop door. No hesitation at all. Everyone here clearly knows and loves dogs, and it shows in how comfortable my doodle is there. After five years of bringing her here, I wouldn't take her anywhere else. My little love bug always comes home looking fantastic and happy. The photo I added here is post-zoomies shortly after we got home from grooming this afternoon. If you're looking for a groomer who understands doodle coats and genuinely cares about the dogs they work with, Grooming by Susie is the place.

Honestly, I am pretty disappointed in my dogs grooming. A few weeks ago I brought my golden (Max)…read morein to have his paw pads shaved out. The groomer did a great job & was very friendly, so I scheduled an appointment for a full groom on 4/19. The staff & groomer were very friendly during check in & I was nervous bc my golden can be a little rambunctious (he's still very young) & has only been professionally groomed one other time at Petco. I asked them to "clean up his edges" & we discussed trimming and evening out the feathers on his legs, abdomen, tail & buttocks + nails/paw pad shave. I didn't really inspect him when I picked him up (why would I? He looked clean, fluffy, not injured & eager to leave so no need to do a full inspection right then & there) - but when I got home and took a closer look I'm very disappointed. They literally accidentally shaved a chunk of fur off his back, they didn't trim his tail or butt at all and the trim job on his abdomen/leg feathers is so sloppy and uneven! I included photos. I'm sad to say Petco did a better job than this and even I myself have done a better job trimming him at home. When I picked him up I asked them how he behaved & they said that he was good/no issues, so not sure why this haircut happened (I'd understand an uneven haircut or a chunk of fur missing if he had been a nightmare and not cooperating but I was told he was a total sweetheart). For what I paid I'd expect at least even cutting & not a chunk of his fur missing. The fur on his chest was evenly trimmed & his paw pads/nails looked nice so at least there is that. I don't like writing negative reviews, especially when staff is friendly & I otherwise had a good experience - but really this haircut is so bad/uneven/they don't even trim half the areas I asked - for $150 (with tip) I feel cheated.

The shop is super cute With all the dog treats and the different designs. They have everything from fresh dog food, dry dog food, specially needs dog food, plus raw hide treats, clothing, leashes and collars too. Came back the day before Labour Day about 11am to drop our dog off for a full groom. The lovely Maddie did our dog's nails last time and this time she was grooming him. It was nice he was someone he was familiar with. As soon as he was ready they texted us to pick him. He came out looking so amazing and smelling good. And what a cute bandana he got from them. We love the staff here they're super nice. We will definitely be back again with Sir Bear. We definitely highly recommend this place for all the dog lover

I thought they were great until my dogs chunk of hair got pulled out during surgery (a bit smaller…read morethan size of a palm) (probably when strapped/clipped in and no one noticed). So I brought it up and instead of agree to disagree they said it's from vaccine, bleeding hair follicles don't bleed from vaccine, and then they said it from cone, which we didn't use. I was ready to let it go until they send me a letter not to come back!!! As a passionate dog owner I should be concerned how dogs hair got pulled out!!!! And even if you didn't notice it happened under your care you don't tell me I'm stupid and tell not to come back. Not ok! This happened 3 months ago and it still bothers me. I've consulted other vets and groomers and they all said not possible to rip hair out like that without dog yelping like crazy. Being under anesthesia is the only way it makes sense that it happened Again, I give them a benefit of a doubt that they didn't noticed when it happened, but don't send me your lame letters when you are clueless how poodle's hair works!!!!!!!!!!!! And yes, my poodle's hair is long and beautiful and kept clean and because I care!!!!!!!!!!!! The worst way to handle care is to shut someone who cares down!!!!
