If your car is going to fail on you, you want it to be in Christiansburg, VA, where Ashton's Place…read moreauto repair shop will take care of you! We were driving on 81 north to Manassas when the air conditioning started blowing warm air. Then the low battery light came on. Then some dash lights went out. We knew something was wrong and were just before the Christiansburg exit, so I quick looked on yelp and saw Ashton's Place not far with a 5 star review. So I started calling and Ashton answered and as I was on the phone explaining, the car stopped completely and we just made it into a little store just down the road from Ashton's. He said stay there, I'll walk down to you. He came with a portable battery & got us started. We drove to his shop and he took a look right away, and told us what it would cost and how long he estimated, which would put it past his closing time. He asked if we had somewhere to stay overnight; he assured us he would try and get it done or if he couldn't that night, definitely the next morning. He even recommended a hotel (which we loved!) and asked his coworker, Joe, to drive us there! Near the hotel was a restaurant we were eating. Halfway through dinner he called to say it was ready! They had stayed after closing to finish it. He even brought it to us at the restaurant! I don't know about you, but I've never had better service than that! Not many would go the extra mile(s) he did! Fair prices, outstanding service, honest, friendly... treating you like family. Can't recommend more highly!! Thank you Ashton and Joe. You made our breakdown into a easy, and stress-free experience.

So thankful to Ashton and his team. Car problems during a 7 hour drive. Yelp and noted Ashton's car…read morerepair. Called and drove over. Diagnosed correctly, worked on the car right away, went the extra in taking care of my car repairs that needed parts as well. Fair, reasonable price. I needed to stay overnight as my repairs had more hours needed (as they had told me it would as I had arrived later in the day). They even took care of me by providing transportation to a local hotel and delivered my car the next morning prior to check out time.

As far as Towing, I have had two cars towed by them and the drivers were always great. I also…read morethought they may be good for auto repairs and have had cars to them at least 4 times. Prices seemed high but I figured for the convince of location was worth it. This is until the last time I had a problem. Coming home from work the car lost power and called for a tow. When he arrived he put on the jumper cables and sparks flew out like I have never seen from just a jump. Battery would not hold charge and he said he thought it was the alternator-so had him take it to shop and install new alternator. Got car when when finished and went to work. That night, the exact same thing happened and same driver came and tried to jump and more extreme sparks out of battery and this time he said that "the battery is to small for the car" so back it went and had new battery installed. This time when I picked it up the windows, radio, rear break lights and dash board lights were not working. Back to their shop it went. I called the next morning to check to see if it had been looked at and was told "havnt had time" waited a day and still nothing so i just said forget it and picked it up. A co-worked said "it sounds like he fried the battery and/ or blew fuses when he jumped it". So took it down the road to another mechanic and he fixed it within 2 hours and said the TOTAL CAR CARE seemed to have blown the fuses when jumping, and said I probably didnt need the alternator nor the battery- they are crooked and overpriced

They called a day later advising that it needed additional repairs and the cost is now close to $600, I authorized the repairs. The following day they called and advised that the sleeve that holds my dipstick is rusted and they need to go into the manifold to remove and replace the sleeve, cost $1,000, I authorized. I go to pick my Durango up and drive it one day and take it home and park it. I go to start it and I hear a loud noise in my engine. I call them to come and tow it, they call back and advise a rod has been thrown and I need an engine. They proceed to say that there was no oil in the vehicle and this is what caused the problem. I ask them if the bottom of the dipstick sleeve was rusted completely off then how would they know if there was no oil. I advise them that I had no engine problems at all and ask how did they remove the rust from the manifold. They advised they just removed the sleeve and replaced it, nothing done to remove rust. I ask them if they didn't suction the rust from the manifold then how are they sure no rust got into my oil pan and in my engine causing the problem? They advised my Jeep has high mileage and needs an engine. I went to the shop to talk to the mechanic and when he pulled the paperwork out they had hand written a note on the paperwork advising that when I 1st brought it in the engine was making a noise. I advised them that the handwritten note could have been wrote at any time, it is not on the computer print out and no one said anything to me about any noise but now that I'm complaining there was all of a sudden a noise. This is very frustrating and i never should have taken my vehicle there. I am in the process of having to get a lawyer to resolve this.
