Upon entering, two staff greeted us warmly, and proceeded to offer a tour of the store. The owner has set up multiple interactive areas for customers: a general play area in the back with about 5 or 6 tables with chairs; a mouth-watering library of tabletop games; a consignment shelf where individual sellers can sell used games; a small snack stand; a couple of try-it-yourself stands for specific games; and a small aisle where you can buy the materials to make your own game. One of the staff generously offered to sit and play a game of our choosing with us from the lending library. We played Wingspan with him and admired that he had only played the game once before, he knew the rules really well and was a competitive match for us, who had played several times more than he had. A customer can pay 5 percent of the cost of the game in the library in order to borrow it for a week. Upon returning the game, the 5 percent payment can be used to deduct from cost to purchase the game, if you decide you want to buy it.

It's located INSIDE of State Theater Vintage Emporium, which is an adventure in itself. Walk in the doors, go up the stairs and its the first "big" fixture/box shop on the left. They carried everything and anything anime and Japanese from plush, figures, cards/card games to even straight from Japan video games and trinkets for Ita Bags. They even had some Pocky, Ramune and other Japanese snacks for purchase. I think we saw the owner restocking as we perused and he was very personable mentioning he could answer any questions we had. Prices were in line/if not better than ones I see at conventions and online. Overall a great place to stop if you're in the market for current or vintage Japanese goods.

i can't believe that this place has not been reviewed yet! kids klothes has been around since *i*…read morewas a kid. kids klothes is a sizeable store. i remember their previous location on queen street -- which they've since outgrown; they've turned their original store into a place called "college closet." this is where some teens and us grown-ups can go to find some cool threads. :) now they have another location specifically for "kids klothes," and the extra room has REALLY helped. (i believe they also sell some maternity clothing at kids klothes.) the store is spacious, clean, and VERY well organized. if you want your child to be well-dressed, but don't want to pay the exorbitant prices required to purchase new goods at stores like gap, gymboree, the childrens' place, etc. etc -- then kids klothes is the place for you! they do have some off-brand stuff as well, but you will find that their prices are always reasonable and suited to the brand, quality, etc. of the clothing. they also have a room full of toys! some used, some new. now, please keep in mind, kids klothes is a consignment store, NOT a thrift store. don't come here expecting to get a season's wardrobe for $50. but i can say that i've usually been able to purchase my son's entire fall/winter and spring/summer wardrobes for $200 TOPS here at kids' klothes. moreover, the staff has always been very friendly to me. they remember me every time i visit even though i only get the chance to go once or twice a year. i gotta say i have been to consignment stores all over the northeastern US, and kids klothes & college closet -- shops in dinky little york, PA -- are by far the best. you can't go wrong!

To start, their prices are below what other places charge for commodities (though they might be going through an inventory reduction exercise, so your mileage varies). The owner took the time to explain to us how she processed the artwork. She speaks about the history of Gettysburg and the paintings with such passion. They're also at the center of town and near the transit station, so super easy to get to. I only wish they were bigger... though we were able to do about 3/4 of our shopping for this trip at this store.

This is a brand new store that's only been open for about three weeks, and it already has such a…read moreunique, well-curated feel. Walking in, you immediately notice how much variety there is from whimsical, fantasy-inspired pieces that feel straight out of a Harry Potter world (dragons, sorcery-style décor, and mystical accents) to items that feel inspired by Japan's aesthetic and design style. Beyond that, the store has an amazing selection of real plants, incense, and a really charming whimsical room that makes you want to slow down and explore everything. There's honestly so much to take in that you could easily spend hours here. The pricing is fair for the quality, everything feels well-made, and the staff were great as well. I only had time for a quick visit, but I did leave with a really cool incense holder and I'll definitely be coming back when I can actually take my time and explore everything properly.
