Excellent service. We took some knives in to get sharpened. Fast and inexpensive. Will go back again.

However they recently lost their traveling knife sharpener and in the process of training a new one, which was not made clear on the website when I was trying to book an appt only to find they had none. I'm glad they are eventually getting another person, but it is a frustrating dilemma because finding someone to sharpen knives is not easy to begin with. Beyond that their prices are kind of high, but you're paying a premium for convenience I guess.

This is a great service…read more Yes, I should sharpen my own knives. I should also take care of them better. But I don't. I don't have the time, or frankly the interest. The sad reality is that I have better knives than I deserve. So when the guilt and shame of having dull knives becomes too much to bear, I am thrilled that I can rely on Roaming Stone to come to the rescue. In the past, I've brought my knives out of the house to be sharpened, and it's a giant pain in the neck. For starters, I have a lot of dull knives. Traveling with them feels weird and creepy. Walking around with them, even when they are dull, feels quite unsafe. Plus these past excursions meant I was without my knives for a few days. With Jacob, it's quick and easy. I set up an appointment online. He showed up on time (actually a few minutes late, but he texted me in advance). I was handed a gray felt basket for my dull knives. Jacob did his thing in my driveway while I did some dishes in the kitchen. Then he was done. With a swipe of my credit card the bill was paid. Now I have functional knives again, and it feels so good. It's just $6 per regular straight knife, regardless of the size. Ten inch chefs knife? Six bucks. Eight inch cleaver? Six bucks. Crazy long butcher knife? Six bucks. Of course that meant my little paring knife was also six bucks, but it all comes out in the wash. Really, with my big knives, I still feel like I came out ahead. Regardless, it's a fair price for the service. Jacob even offered some helpful tips at the end of our session about how to best take care of my tools. He was a good sport when I told him my plan was to keep abusing them, and will set up another appointment once I could no longer face their diminished edges. If you have enough time to enjoy cooking, but not quite enough time to sharpen your knives, this is how you should roll.

No matter the time of year I love visiting Downtown Home & Garden. My previous review stated, "I love any store where I can get tulip bulbs, a new bird house, a winter hat shaped like a Christmas tree, a new cookie sheet and a loaf of Zingerman's bread" and all that still rings true. But these days I also add national parks merch, gear for my dogs, holiday decor, kitchen gadgets and cookbooks and, perhaps most exciting for a Polish broad like myself, a variety of Polish pottery pieces. In the spring and summer months I can be found perusing peony bulbs for my garden, hummingbird feeders, bird seed and squirrel proof bird feeders, planters, plants/starters for my veggie garden, pest control and fertilizers, plus a variety of lawn decor and sculpture pieces, etc. Some things can be kind of pricey but you truly get what you pay for. Even after years out in the elements everything I've bought for my yard here is still in amazing condition, my plants from here always yield the most delicious fruits and veggies, and the little birdies are so happy with the snacks we provide them from their bins.

I…read moredropped off my mower over a month ago and I can't get a straight answer on the status. ...Waiting on hold, being sent to voicemail, promises for returned calls that aren't fulfilled. It's very frustrating (especially for a mower still under warranty so there's not a lot of choice for service providers). I wish I would have purchased my mower elsewhere.

I said I want to come in Monday, pay and speak to the service manager about my bill, it was excessive for what they did. Found out the earliest they could deliver it was 10 days out. Are you kidding me? My mower was purchased there so I figured I'd get treated well, not the case. I will never be back, I had been told not to take it there, should have listened. Update...My mower was delivered back after being completed for 10 days. Zero oil in the hydraulic reservoir and two idlers were replaced that are fine. I spent $950 dollars and they deliver it back with no fluid in the reservoir. They did not perform the service correctly and were not able to tell me when they could fix it. I will begin proceedings to dispute the charge. Do not ever get service at this place. Second update...The issues have been resolved, so far I've added 16 oz of fluid. I was refunded for the idlers that were replaced that were not bad. Unfortunately this should never have happened. Weingartz has lost me and probably more as customers. This is my memory of Weingartz and it will be shared when anyone asks me about the business.

I called Mr. Appliance to request a later time on Tuesday and again a REAL PERSON answered the phone and gave me a later time slot. Tanner came and was polite and efficient and repaired the dryer. Got the service scheduled for three days out, and received an immediate confirmation, as well as a day-before confirmation that included a photo of the technician. Received a text from the technician when he was on his way. Upon his inspection of the dryer, he determined he would need to order a new part, but said he would be able to get back to install it by the end of the day. Turned out even better than that--he was back in a couple of hours, telling me he decided it would be quicker to swing back to my place then instead of after his next stop, as he'd planned. After the new part was in, everything was fine. The repair wasn't cheap--replacing a circuit board won't be in any circumstances--but the repair went smoothly and the dryer is now working fine.
