Mostly good, but several workmanship issues…read more Creekside Coverings recently completed our outdoor stair reconfiguration project, transforming our straight stairway into a more functional design with a landing and a 90-degree turn onto a paver patio. While the team finished on schedule, the final result revealed some craftsmanship challenges. The project's core functionality meets our expectations. However, in our opinion, certain details fall short of what we would consider more commonly-used construction practices. Key observations follow. 1. The deck planks on the landing are installed parallel to the support joists. This necessitated the addition of blocking between the joists. The blocking was added after the deck planks were secured to the landing frame. In addition, the decking appears to be fastened only to the landing's frame, without direct attachment to the joists or blocking. 2. The newly-constructed landing appears to have been designed without sufficient attention to detail, in our opinion. The shape of the landing necessitated the placement of an additional railing post adjacent to an existing post on the landing to properly secure the bottom section staircase railing. 3. The two new posts on the new landing are slightly different in size than the original posts, and their caps do not match the existing post caps. The contractor mentioned these items to us after they were already installed on the stairway, and he told us that they would not affect functionality. With attention to the observations above, this would easily be a five star project.

From the initial contact to the finished product, Creekside Coverings was absolutely incredible to…read moredo business with. Shawn responded quickly to our inquiry about building a gazebo with a bar and set up an appointment that was convenient for us. When he came to the house, he was super professional but, more importantly, he was very personable and easy to talk with. He let us tell him what our vision was, and he helped guide us where we needed a little help. I immediately felt at ease with him and knew that I wanted this guy to do our work. There wasn't a lot of info or reviews out there on him, but I felt like I could trust him and appreciated how well he treated us. To be honest, I didn't even have anyone else come out and give me a quote after Shawn was at our house and I never do that! He told me he would get the quote to me later that night or at the latest the next day and he delivered on that promise. In fact, he delivered on EVERY promise! He was also on time...EVERY TIME and he communicated everything we needed to know at every step of the process. Shawn told us when he would start the project and how it would go and gave us a very specific finish time which he nailed! We have had several contractors do projects for us and every single time it was a nightmare for multiple reasons. With Creekside Coverings we had ZERO issues and enjoyed having Shawn at our home! It was a breath of fresh air for us! Shawn was super organized, worked clean, and gave so much attention to the detail of our project. As he was working on the gazebo and making our vision come to life, he asked us a few questions about changes to a wall we wanted included and the height of the bar. He never pressured us but wanted us to see things from a different view and I am so glad that he did that because what we thought we wanted was nowhere near as beautiful and spot on as what he suggested! He was right about making the wall only a half wall so we didn't lose our beautiful view and feel so closed in and he was right about increasing the height of the bar. It was perfect! We gave him a vision and trusted him to make it all come together and he delivered a finished product that was even better than we had dreamed of. Our new gazebo has become our happy place and the place where we spend time with our friends. We're filling our new space with a ton of new memories and we couldn't be more thankful and impressed with how it all turned out! Shawn is proud of his work and it is obvious how important it is to him that he makes his customer's visions and dreams come true. The craftmanship and artistry of his work is beautiful. His care and concern for his customers is the best part. If you want someone that puts his heart into his work and truly cares about your project, Shawn and Creekside Coverings is who you want to hire! I would hire them a thousand more times and intend to use them for a few more projects around the house. Thank you Shawn and Creekside Coverings for getting us covered!

Champion Windows: 4.5 Months of Delays, Zero Communication, and Defective Product…read moreDo not use Champion Windows. Our experience with a $14,000, two-panel patio door purchase has been an absolute nightmare, defined by egregious delays, complete lack of professionalism, and substandard product quality. We placed our order on June 11th. It took four and a half months (until October 27th) to receive just one of the two doors, and the project remains incomplete. Communication is non-existent. The nightmare began in August when the install manager himself noted our initial "rush" order doors were horribly scratched and unfit for installation. Despite being promised a new rush order, my follow-up calls on August 25th, September 4th, and September 12th were all met with zero returned calls. Two months later, we finally received a call to schedule installation. The installer arrived only to deliver more bad news: he only brought ONE door. More critically, the single installed door is already defective: The lock does not connect--a basic safety function that was clearly not checked by the installer. The door panel has multiple visible scratches on the exterior. The exterior door handle is the wrong color (white on an almond door), which is unacceptable for a custom order at this price point. Champion has demonstrated a profound disrespect for the customer's time and money. They delivered a defective, incomplete, and non-functional product months late after ghosting us for weeks. We are demanding a complete and immediate resolution, including waiving the final balance for the immense trouble caused. Save yourself the stress and choose another company.

Took my $5,100, 4 months later no doors, no answers--just lies…read more In April 2025, I paid a $5,100 deposit (25%) for three sets of large patio doors. By June, I called to ask about the installation date--they said the doors were not yet in production but would be ready for an August install. By late July, I called again--still not in production. After that, they ghosted me completely--no replies to five emails and six voicemails pleading for an update. I finally showed up at their Lewis Center, OH office, where I was met with lies and zero accountability. They took my money and never gave a satisfactory explanation. I had to threaten legal action to get a refund, and even then, obtaining a refund receipt was like pulling teeth.
