Sharon is fabulous ! I recently presented Sharon with a difficult request…read more I have a wedding in NY and the dress I purchased needed additional alterations. My trip was fast approaching and I knew it was going to be hard to do it in such a short timeline . Sharon gladly took on the project with the dress and finished it earlier than expected! Her workmanship was so detailed and without a doubt exactly what I wanted. She is a professional , listened to what I wanted and delivered on my request, and very kind and very easy to work with. I would and will recommend her for any of your alteration needs! Thank you Sharon !

Terrible, I wanted a simple trim on a vintage shirt that was amazing quality. I expected them to…read moremake it look like it wasn't even touched and for the least part to hem it? But they didn't even do that. I could have done the job better myself if I would have known that's how it would have came out. They took fabric scissors and just cut the end, not even straight mind you. Looks like a teenage girl diyed her shirt, I'm extremely disappointed that I now have a ruined shirt. If you are looking for a simple fix for a shirt just do it yourself instead of coming here. They do not listen to your requests at all.

Long post but sooooo many levels of incompetence…read more I took a brand new pair of pants with tag still on. I stood there while both women talked to me. One of them pinned pants. We had a lengthy discussion in detail that I wanted the new hem to look exactly like the old one. One woman said she'd do it differently but I told them what I wanted. She said "yes it can be done" I reiterated "it's the style of the pants, and that's why I bought them and it could be done there was plenty of fabric and what I want". Both woman agreed it could be done. When I go to pick them up, they are done completely wrong. The hem I wanted to preserve was not done and the woman who did the work said the woman that pinned them didnt write down my instructions!! But the woman who altered them was part of the full discussion when they were hemmed! so she threw her colleague under the bus. Both of them were present and actively talking to me about the new hem and style I wanted to preserve. Both agreed it could be done. When I go to pick them up, they are not how I want it, it is how the first woman wanted it, and the second one blamed it on the first ones were not writing it down! Absolutely the worst Poor excuse, horrible Customer Sevice, I told him I didn't wanna come back. I would take a discount and just leave and they told me, " we can't give you a discount only the owner ." I suggested we call the owner and was told, "the Owner is in Greece." So these employees are not empowered to make a simple decision. What kind of Owner is doesn't empower employees to make simple decisions that might preserve a modicum of credibility, leaves them stranded and they do a FAILURE job - poor workmanship and oh by the way... Do not go there unless you want your clothes ruined. The kicker: I know how to sew and I know there was plenty of fabric and time to do it right. BTW, I used to own 6 dry cleaners so I know exactly what's going on there and it is not professional. Negative stats if I could!

Sad to say, just an unfortunate and awful experience for way overpriced compared to others in the same business. There was no care whatsoever for my dress. I went with Emily's suggestions on what to change, but it seems she had other projects that became more important. The material was never cut and sewn, just bunched together and sewn and done so poorly. Thankfully I found another seamstress, but this should have never happened.

I am so glad Olga is back in town!…read more Olga is professional, has clear turnaround times, reasonable in pricing, communicative, and does not hesitate to make expert recommendations. It's always a good idea to have a seamstress on speed dial, and I would (and have) recommend Olga to anyone in need of tailoring services!

I initially had a positive experience and had one garment altered by Olga. The work on that item…read morewas good. However, after going to see her for the last few alterations appointments, I was repeatedly turned away saying she couldn't do a simple hem and waist adjustments to two skirts and a pair of pants. Then during one of the last appointments she kept saying how this isn't her main job and how she is frequently out of town and I'm confused as to why she is saying this stuff to me because she has two rooms dedicated to this business in her apartment and a website and enough yelp reviews where it appears to be a dedicated business. Also, during one of the appointments she flat out asked me, "doesn't the store or designer you bought this from do alterations for free?" And for that particular designer piece...I did confirm that they do free alterations but they do not have a local storefront on the west coast and I'm not flying out to NYC just to do alterations at their flagship store. To me, that question was rude. If there was a store nearby, of course I would take advantage of a free alterations service but again, I'm not flying to NYC to alter a single item. Furthermore, I'm bringing my business to YOU. You would think a business owner would be grateful for business. When I reached out again today to set up an appointment, I was ultimately told she had decided not to accept me as a client because she was not comfortable working on expensive clothing. I appreciate the honesty and would rather someone be upfront than take on work they aren't comfortable with. However, I wish this had been communicated earlier, as it would have saved both of us time after multiple attempts to schedule additional work. If you have higher-end designer clothing, it may be worth asking in advance whether those types of garments are within their preferred scope of work. I think it's interesting though that she does wedding dresses which are significantly more expensive than the items I brought in. P.S. After I pointed out via text message that she has worked on alterations for wedding dresses, which are often significantly more expensive than the designer clothing I brought in, she replied, 'You are right, accept my apologies." 6/26/26 update - After Olga's response below I wanted to add this: Thank you for your response. However, I do want to clarify that the last item I requested included a simple hem and a slight waist adjustment on a pair of pants (they were not expensive by the way, I can show you the receipt). You allowed me to return a few times to your apartment where you do fittings with 3 separate items wasting gas, time, and effort only to turn me away each time. That request contributed to my confusion about the explanation I received. I wish this had been communicated more clearly from the beginning so I could have found another alterations specialist sooner. Again, I want to repeat all of these items are significantly below the price of a wedding dress which you seem to alter quite often based on your reviews so your response stating you don't like to alter expensive items seems....far-fetched.
