However, there were issues with the second work. He quoted me $220 for a simple sink stopper realignment, new drain (costs $5 at Home Depot), and leak repair. Fine. However, he did NOT fix the leak. Water continued to drip under the sink for 2 weeks after he said he fixed it. He did come by once during those 2 weeks and said it was just something he needed to "tighten". That was not the case as the leak persisted. I called JJ again on 10/3 to let him know. I sent him pictures and we confirmed that a rusted valve needed to be replaced. Great. So he quoted me another $110 to have it repaired. Really JJ?! Absolutely NOT right to charge a client more money when it wasn't even fixed the first time. Especially after we both specified what needed to be done and the amount that was agreed upon. He said it's because he needed to buy a different part which (he confirmed) was only $10 at the store. I told him I shouldn't be paying anything more since the repair wasn't done the FIRST time. However, I told JJ that I can pay $10 for the part and he said no. And we bickered back and forth and settled on $60 for him to fix this leak. But after giving it some thought, I will spend the $10 on the part and go on YouTube and figure it out myself. This is a very unfortunate situation because I wanted to continue to use him for other bathroom projects. However, I REFUSE to be taken advantage of. I might not know a lot about plumbing, but I know enough and I definitely know when I'm being hustled. Scamming a client for MORE money after NOT fixing it right the first time, is BAD business. Very unprofessional and unethical. I would have not expected this considering all of the 5-star reviews on here. Do not mistake my kindness and soft spoken voice as weakness JJ. On Tuesday, September 2nd, 2025, Andre came by to install two garage ceiling racks (photos posted). As always, he did an excellent job--measuring carefully, using a stud finder, and ensuring the racks were securely mounted into studs. While he was there, I asked for a rough estimate for laminate flooring in three bedrooms and one bathroom. Andre suggested vinyl flooring instead, and after doing my own research, I decided to go with vinyl. True to his word, within two days he came back with a detailed and fair quote, and I decided to use him again for this larger project. Was quoted by a different company $4,500 to replace it and that price was unacceptable as it cost me $8,200 to replace all my other windows including a new sliding patio door recently. So I found this company who was able to replace parts of it and save me a lot of money. A tech was sent out to measure and provide an estimate (sorry cannot remember his name) he quoted for all 6 pieces as I asked but told me I only needed to change 2 if I was going to do any of it. The 2 main pieces had dust and dirt in between the panes so I could never get the window clean. After I decided to move forward I scheduled the install and Marlo showed up and was very professional and polite. He did the job very quickly and when he was removing the 2 old glass panes we discovered that they had completely failed as the outer pieces of glass separated from the inner spacer in effect leaving me with single pane glass.
