UPDATE MAY 14TH 2026 After 1 1/2 years we noticed our window…read moresill on one of the installed new windows had developed moisture swelling. Manny looked at it and said they would take off the sill board, shoot water from the outside and see if they could tell where it was coming from by looking from the inside. Well Carlos first reapplied calking to the top going across the window, let it dry and shot water. We couldn't see any water coming inside so he installed a new sill board along with interior calking. Here is the rub: THERE IS CALKING ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE FRAME AND CALKING AROUND THE WINDOW THEY DID INSTALL. THE BAD CALKING WAS NOT FROM THEIR JOB THEY DID BUT THEY FIXED IT AND REPLACED THE SILL AND THEIR WORKERS DID NOT EVEN MAKE THE ERROR!! THIS TELLS ME YOU SHOULD SERIOUSLY CONSIDER THIS COMPANY AS THEY GO WAY BEYOND WHAT OTHER COMPANIES DO TO KEEP YOU HAPPY. THANK YOU MANNY AND CARLOS, YOUR ALL THE BEST!!! Wow! I am blown away with Varguez Exteriors! Let me say that I went through 35 companies trying to find both the best deal and a highly rated company. Varguez won that contest. They actually gave us the lowest bid, Tyler led 3 other men to put up 3 large picture windows overlooking the Columbia river. They use very high quality Cardinal igu's which slip right in. They constructed a high off the ground plank avoiding all our front yard plants not hurting or disturbing anything! I watched them for over 3 hours paying attention to small details and not just rushing to get it done. THEY REALLY CARE ABOUT QUALITY WORK! When finished, they had everything really cleaned up and very careful to respect our things inside and outside the home. ALL of them (Manny, Tyler, Carlos, David and Traci) were VERY kind and polite. Tyler was careful to have everything completely done right and cleaned up to our satisfaction. On top of the lowest bid, Manny even agreed to my wife's offer of a sizeable discount to do the 3rd window. Thanks so much Manny! I am a researcher who spent MANY hours to find the best and I did. Sean and his team were incredible, from our initial meeting for an estimate through completion of the job. They helped me navigate working through my home insurance to ensure I was issued everything that would be needed to cover cost/damages. The project took only a few days to complete and the house looks good as new! They were extremely communicative throughout the entire project, I always knew what to expect and when it was happening. All texts and phone calls were typically answered immediately if not than within an hour. My initial estimate was also right in line with the final charges. My husband and I hired Cutting Edge contracting after deciding between two roofing/siding companies…read morethat were very comparable. We went with Cutting Edge because Joe was very personable and seemed to have a down to earth, low pressure approach. We felt really good about our decision until the job started to progress. We hired them for roofing, gutters, siding, along with a few add ons to fix framing and such. During the whole process Cutting Edge was doing the work our interior was also getting remodeled so our whole house was down to studs and subfloor so we had a pretty clear view of all the work they were doing. The roofing came first which was chosen to be done at a terrible time. We happened to have an atmospheric storm after the shingles were removed and although it was supposed to be wrapped tight for no leaks we had SEVERAL! I am talking water dripping on my head in the middle of the night. Probably a total of 10 areas throughout my house that leaked. We had to have them come a minimum of 4 times for serious leaks. They were very responsive to that and did come as soon as they could so that was a positive note. We had to point out several errors that were made along the way as well, such as forgetting to do the house sheathing before doing the flashing on the roof so they had to remove the flashing, put down the sheathing and redo the flashing. They used a white caulk on our red brick chimney. One area of the roof had to have the pitch corrected to match the existing roof pitch and they did not support the wall when they cut the support that connected the two rooflines so the wall is no longer level, when it was brought to their attention we were told it wasn't something they could fix at that point because they had already roofed the area. There was a very obvious bow in the fascia board that I had to point out to them and ask them to correct, instead of doing it properly they shimmed it with plastic shims. One of the biggest disappointments is hiring a company who claims to be top level to install a new roof and in some areas the sheathing they used was moldy when they installed it in my house. Even with all the issues along the way I looked past it because they were correcting most of their mistakes and they offered to help do a few free door installs because my husband who was going to do the install broke his back shortly after they started the job. When getting the bid we had them over estimate to know the high end with a full resheet and we were told and trusted they would credit it to reflect what was used as Joe said they would. I do know that only around half the roof needed a resheet so we should have seen a decent credit back on it. When we received our bill we never received any credits back on the over estimate on the sheathing, when I asked about it Joe told me "he was pretty sure any credit was eaten up by the free door install". That is kind of confusing when we are told it is free but then when we are billed we are told differently. The roofers were very messy, inside and outside. I am still cleaning up nails and roofing materials months later. I will give all the credit to the crew that did our siding, they were phenomenal, zero complaints. Gutter install also went well without complaints. So I warn you if you decide to go with this company make sure you have your contract to reflect only what you know you need. Incase it is not clear on my feelings about our experience I will add, I SHOULD HAVE GONE WITH THE OTHER GUYS.

From the beginning, we were so impressed with their knowledge, expertise, and aesthetic. They understood our vision and we appreciated their collaborative spirit. The transformation was AMAZING. Immediately thereafter, this business indicated that additional measurements would be necessary, that work could not begin before 10/3/19 and that payment by check or credit card bearing a "convenience fee" of 2.5% was immediately payable. I replied that I would pay the installer making the additional measurements a cash payment on the day he arrived at my home since I didn't have personal checks and since I didn't want to pay a convenience fee. In reply to this, the operations manager wrote to me saying, "It appears that we are not the company for you so we are asking you to find another company to complete the job." There is not "another company," I insisted that the business not walk off the job and I presented a cashier's check for 50% down that was refused when I visited the office that same afternoon
