First off, the equipment was top notch, from the trailers to the 650 can am quads themselves. They were extremely burly, had 4WD and winches but in reality didn't need either except for the most challenging terrain. They are super fun 2 seaters though nothing broke down so we didn't need to put anyone on back. If you did have a break down though, you'd be in good shape. These things even have 12V cigarette style chargers which was great for 3 nights of camping in the boonies. Brian and mike even provided a plug kit in case we had any issues. The amazing trailer was very easy to load and was right sized for the quads so everything fit just right. We tried not to damage the equipment, but a few things happened that were above general wear and tear. Honestly, we all agreed that the charges after were fair, something like 10% of the total which included a destroyed helmet that was brand new. All in all we had a great time, with great equipment, and Brian and Mike took care of us so we will be back next year. Please be nice to quad 1, I want it back, it treated me well.

Then they wanted to charge me for a belt and not return my $1000 deposit. We were charged for the deposit and the the cost of the trip. I tried for 2 months to reach Brian, he would never call me back and the only communication i had was through his assistant, it was very frustrating. Needless to say i would not recommend Appalachian Adventures.

They are now Ural Pittsburgh, and they sell and service Ural Motorcycles (made in Russia). Even though I was just browsing, I was treated like a valued customer, and was given lots of information about these unusual motorcycles. I thought they were very cool, as they all had sidecars and most were two-wheel drive. There were lots of various models in the showroom, with lots of options, colors, and accessories available. For the most part, I did all my research ahead of time, and only reached out to the dealership with a few questions and then was ready to buy! My salesperson was Mike Purtell, for the whole process. Along with a couple of emails to Jen in finance. Gotta say, Mikes very easy to speak to, seems to have solid knowledge of the sidecars and enjoys helping out the customer! A very pleasant shopping experience! I was extremely happy that this was not the usual "nickel & dime" ya to death experience. Their website list the price, shows the discounts, and if you do the math? It all adds up correctly! I have to say I really thought the paperwork portion of this, was super smooth! Since the bike was being shipped to me, all the paperwork arrived via Fed Ex. Which was really nice! I was able to get the bike registered and plated, long before it actually was delivered. Overall, I have nothing but good things to say about Mike and the staff at Ural of Pittsburgh! I hope to visit someday in person!

I challenge anyone to get through....as I spent over 4 hours over a week trying to get to a real person. Their phone system always says they are recording the calls for quality control....but you never get a chance to leave a message on any number. And the real reason for the 1 star is - I rented an ultra for 2 weeks for over $3,000 and returned it one day early and asked for the measly $249/ day refund and they refused. that's just bad service. The statement was, that's not our policy and it cost us money to refund $$. This is the 2nd time I have tried to modify a reservation and gotten stuck. If there are other options to EaglerRder, I hope to find them and I hope you do too. PS - Pete in corporate "Tried" to help, but to no avail.

So I thought I would hit up the local motorcycle shop just 20 minutes from the house. I walk into Pitt Cycles shortly after opening and asked to get a tire mounted and balanced. Mind you, the wheel is off the bike and there is no tire to be removed. Just mount/balance the new tire I have on my rim. At first I was asked when was a good time to come back and have this done. I was hoping to get squeezed in now, not have to come back later in the week. After a bit of fumbling with paperwork, the gentleman thought he could accomodate me. So he wrote up the order and said it would be $75. I was like "Excuse me? How much?". Tax was probably additional. Did I mention the wheel was off the bike and no tire needed removed? Needless to say, I said "Nevermind!" and went elsewhere and had it done for $25. I can honestly say I will never take my bike to them for ANY service.

While they are very friendly and accommodating to get my bike in I got a sour taste on 5/27/2026. Had a nail in rear tire of course needing replaced. My bad for not getting a price first but $680 is a bit steep! Too late but called Stinger for a quote after the fact and was told $525. Called back to Southeast and told them but too late because they don't care. I guess we will part ways and lessen learned for this old guy but I will share my story with our riding group. I won't miss going out of my way to where I once trusted my hard earned money.
