My husband and I came in for the first time today and we had a pretty good experience. They had a pretty good selection from chicken and beef shawarmas, falafels, hummus and tabouli. The only negative was we had a wait a while for our food. We were told that it would take about 10 minutes for our 3 Greek salads, but it was at least 25-30 minutes. I also really enjoy Gyro meat that is sliced and it felt as if I got the leftover burnt ends of the day, like it was just scattered on top of my salad like taco meat, but it was still tasty. Great little locally owned place with delicious chicken kabobs and rice. Whenever I've gone its been mostly empty with just a few ladies working behind the counter. Its pretty hot inside and the furniture is reminescent of an old Mcdonalds or donut store. Thats probably why most people seem to get their food to go. The service is friendly and while the shop feels more like a store front than a restaurant, the food is good. Their baklava is especially tasty, it is moist and sweet, better than most I've had. If you are looking to beat the long lines at the busy Pollo Loco across the street, try A1 Kabob for lunch or dinner instead. read more

I've been eating at this place for years and loved it. It was one of my go to places and favorite places to eat. unfortunately the other day I ordered the chicken kabob plate and found a piece of paper inside of my rice. when I got to the other side of my plate I took a big spoonful of rice and there was a long brown curly strand of hair hanging out of my mouth. For starters the customer service is not good. The food is even worse. I ordered two gyros and they were inedible. Not what you'd expect from a Mediterranean restaurant named A1-kebab. What a nice person that she came and snatched my food away. The security came, I asked for the name of that person and the name of the owner. The security didn't give me the names so I took some pictures. When the service is like this , I wouldn't taste the food even if they pay me for it. Later I went to AV Kabob, food was great as well as the people and of course they had plates for free. Later I found out from two of them that they used to work at that place and that individual is one of the most crappy person to have as a supervisor. End of the day , even a good service and manners make the crappy food tasteful and a delicious food will become tasteless for lousy service and manners. This is my boyfriend and I's GO TO PLACE when we're feeling like being a little healthier and don't want to cook dinner. We are seriously never disappointed. The chicken kabobs and rice is a great sized portion and both are so flavorful and moist. Also, the accompanying white spread(I don't know the name but know it's garlic based) is so delicious I literally crave it. We have been coming here since we moved to Lancaster in 2016. The woman who owns the place is the most sweet, warm, and naturally friendly person. I wish I could give her 1,000,000 five star reviews for how welcome she always makes me feel.
