Unfortunately, our food was automatically packaged to go without being asked whether we planned to eat inside. It would have been appreciated if staff had confirmed our preference before bagging the order, especially since seating appeared to be available. Overall, the food was very good and we enjoyed our meal- we were just hoping for the opportunity to dine in. Clear communication regarding dine-in availability would greatly improve the customer experience. read more

Been going to this place for years now but am just now posting a review. I love this little hole in the wall place, best Mediterranean food in town imo, others are good, but this is the best. The food is always fresh and cooked to perfection, every dish is so flavorful. I always get the vegetarian combo with a small side of rice. The only thing I'd say about the dining experience is that sometimes it takes a while but you can also see them preparing the food fresh in the kitchen so I don't mind. This place always scratches my itch for Mediterranean. If you don't love it I don't know what to tell you. I could also eat their dolma in bulk. read more

It has been some time since I was here, had an urge for Kibbeh, they are the only place in town to get them. Also ordered a Shawarma sandwich. It was horrendous! Tasted like boiled meat! No flavor and gross texture, I could not eat 1/4 of it. Threw it out. Went to eat the Kibbeh and they were pasty. If you know you know. No taste in these either. The best thing was a side of tahini that they charged $6.95 for. A small container, half filled. Not a single piece of bread. Never went to Middle Eastern take out and received no bread. Spend your money at AV Kabob House in Ave. J. It looks rough, no lie, but the food is delicious, consistently good, and they charge me under $3 for twice the amount of tahini. Better taste and bang for your buck. read more

I really dislike writing low or bad reviews but I feel like everyone should know before coming to dine at A1 Kabob. I ordered the #23 beef shawarma and let me tell you, it was very mediocre. Edible, but mediocre. The beef tasted like some sort of hamburger helper style meat... just wasn't your typical shawarma beef that's sliced. Tasted very weird and rubbery. The lettuce was kind of wilted or in the stage of about to be spoiled. Sauce was strange too. I also ordered the baba ganoush and was expecting it to be warm and served with warm bread. NOPE. ICE COLD. I literally mean ice cold. It hurt my teeth while eating it and the pita bread was cold and not even toasted. I've never had ice cold baba ganoush or any kind of side dish straight from the fridge. Yeah hummus is okay but it shouldn't be ICE cold.. Service was good, the woman behind the counter was kind and helpful. Interior was clean and organized, nice music playing. But uh... maybe I was unlucky? I should've ordered a plate probably, based on the 5 star reviews of everyone else. That's my take. I won't come back again. One and done. read more

I recently ordered the chicken kabob and I handed the lady cash. She then walked toward the back and I watched her handle the food with her hands. She did not wash her hands, nor did she wear gloves. She noticed that I was watching and went in an area where I couldn't see her. She heard me telling someone on the phone how dirty this place is. She handed me the food in the plastic bag and ran off before I could even confront her. I discarded the food. That "A" rating should be taken off the window. This is a serious health violation!! read more

Door dashed some chicken kabobs and it was delicious! I asked for extra garlic sauce which is a must. They placed a pepperoncini in the hummus, so I decided to try it out and it was SO delicious once squirted into the hummus. I had never tried that before and it was amazing. Door dash delivery was quick and affordable. I will definitely be a returning customer. read more

That Half Chicken and family meal they have on the window is false advertising they never have it and in hopes you order something else shame on them! This is my go to place for Mediterranean food! I've been heard and ordered from her many times! We typically order the combo and share as it's quite a large portion. You'll get 3 kabobs of different meat, scrumptious rice. Tzatziki and a roasted jalapeño along with pita, The food has always been fresh and hot and super delicious! It's very casual and best for to go orders, although we have eaten here, I would say it's kind of a cafe style place but the service is always friendly and since the food is made fresh, it takes a minute to get your order, but definitely worth it. Prices are reasonable too! read more

Save yourself the money and calories. This is the first gyro I've had that only offers 1 piece of meat and wilted vegetables. Generally gyros are stuffed with meat whereas the shell doesn't close but this was literally folded over like flat bread. Sad looking gyro. read more

I've been coming here for many years and the food hasn't changed. I enjoyed #9 Kafta kabob. the portions are big and the food tastes amazing. I love mediterranean food. Whenever I want my fix, I just come here and it completes my craving. The staff are very friendly, and the place is clean. When it's good, it's really good. Unfortunately, today the chicken in my kabob plate was seriously burnt. I had to throw about half of it away. And one of the ladies that works here is definitely sweeter than the other one. So overall it's pretty good, but definitely hit and miss. I probably won't come back again. read more

This spot is the place to be! From all the Mediterranean locations in the valley, this one is the best! We ordered 2 small chicken kabob plates, 2 large plates, and 1 large kafta plate around 4:30 pm. They only took 15 to 20 minutes to complete the task. It was soooo good! The salad had a fresh light creamy dressing, the rice was fluffy, and it complements the slightly charred chicken kabob. Definitely will come again! read more

Watch out, OK food ahead! We ordered from here last night and the food was underwhelming. As others have stated, the meat was dry and was not very flavorful. The tzatziki sauce was watery and had giant chunks of cucumber throughout. My wife ordered the mix grill, and at 22 bucks we were expecting a spread. It was a bit disappointing to say the least. I really wanted to like this place, but when paying almost $60, I felt a bit let down. read more

My husband and I came in for the first time today and we had a pretty good experience. They had a pretty good selection from chicken and beef shawarmas, falafels, hummus and tabouli. The only negative was we had a wait a while for our food. We were told that it would take about 10 minutes for our 3 Greek salads, but it was at least 25-30 minutes. I also really enjoy Gyro meat that is sliced and it felt as if I got the leftover burnt ends of the day, like it was just scattered on top of my salad like taco meat, but it was still tasty. Presentation could have been better. read more

And they gave me the cute little baklava (2) they hand out as a freebie dessert (but also not as good as it used to be). Really really sad that it's nowhere near what it used to be almost a decade ago when I lived in Noho. I ordered the Chicken Shawarma plate and got some warm chicken on top of warm rice. It wasn't hot and freshly cooked. The salad wasn't that crisp and the salad dressing tasted a bit mid. The front of the restaurant also leaves much to be desired. You can't even tell there's a restaurant here from the street with so few windows! This whole plaza looks sad and dilapidated.

She took my number and said management would call me back. No one followed up. I called again a few days later, and was told the same thing -- still no response. It has now been about a month with no communication or resolution. Very disappointed with both the food quality and the lack of customer service. I would not recommend.
