It's truth what everyone is saying: always cancels in last minutes, schedules are spaced out, using his phone all the time during the lessons, only teach 1 hours and 20 minutes instead of 2 hours what I paid, asked to pick up another student and let this student drove back to drop of my teen. If I could give a zero star, I would. Buyer beware. You are made to pay up front and then you don't receive the services that you aid for. I hired A1 driving school (Ricky or Raj) whatever his name is to give my daughter driving lessons. The first lesson, he tried to cancel at the last minute due to not feeling well. I told him I could not reschedule for the day he proposed so he decided to come anyway. He cut the 2 hour session to 1 hour because he wasn't feeling well. When my daughter returned, she was upset saying that he yelled at her the whole time and asked if they had any other trainers preferably a woman. I asked he said no. When it was time to schedule the second lesson, I called and texted multiple times with no response. I eventually used a different number to call him and got an answer. He explained his car had been in an accident and he would get it back Thursday. Thursday came and went and I never got a call to schedule. I began calling yet again with no response. It wasn't until I told him I wanted a refund that he finally responded with the statement that no refund will be provided and his car was still waiting on brakes. This is over a month after he said it would be ready Thursday. If you read through his reviews you will see that he has a history of lacking communication and when he does it is excuse after excuse as to why he cannot perform the duties he was paid for. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB as well as contacting 7 on your side. I cannot understand why this man is still in business. I eventually had to go to another company. $375 down the drain and I get to spend even more money on the second company. Bay Area Driving School is the way to go. They are professional, communicative and kind. A1 should be shut down at the very least! read more

Read all of the negative reviews, we experienced the same issues. First appointment was set up fine but he ended up picking up another student and cutting my daughter's class short. He only did maybe 2-3 hours total and signed off on the permit but he's required to do 6 hours. He was rude, cancelled on us twice, and never gets back to us to reschedule. read more

This guy really stressed me out. The first time he came on time and took the whole amount after, he only drove with my daughter for one hour and 15 minutes and brought her back. Save your money and your sanity and go with a different driving school. It was very easy to schedule the first appointment. However, despite their no calculations within 24 hours under any circumstances, they canceled their first appointment with us the day of. We rescheduled and he showed up and they drove 1:45 instead of the scheduled 2 hours. I can forgive 15 minutes so I didn't say anything that day. The 2nd appointment was much harder to schedule. It required several text messages and a phone call to get it scheduled. Day of, he canceled due to being sick. Again, difficult to reschedule but he finally did. He was a little late, but what really got to me was he only did 1:15. I called him out on it and he basically gaslighted us. He claims my daughter was tired. She was not nor did she say that. I finally got him to agree to make up the time at the last lesson. Lesson 3. By far the most difficult to schedule as they just ignore our calls and texts. It took almost 2 weeks to get a date and time scheduled. And guess what! They were a no show! It took another 2 days to get a rescheduled appointment. This was supposed to be a 3 hour lesson to make up for the missed time I paid for. It was another 1:45. So now we are at 4:45 instead of 6 hours. But this genius signs under penalty of perjury that he has completed 6 hours with her. I absolutely have proof he didn't. I tracked her lessons on life 360 and have timestamps on our security cameras of when she left and returned home. read more

Save your money. The first appointment was easy enough to make. He showed up more than an hour late. Took my payment and took my daughter out for maybe 1 hour. The second appointment not so easy. He kept cancelling and not showing up. Finally showed up for our second lesson and he drove her around the block and had her parallel park. She was gone 20 minutes. He signed off on the DMV papers. For starters, it's now called the A1 Driving School. Call them and set up an appointment. They'll come to your house and pick you up. Don't forget to bring your permit and glasses, if you wear them. You will be driving the entire time. At first, this really scared me, because I had zero experience being behind the wheel. But baby's got to learn sometime. And don't worry; they have a brake on their side to stop the vehicle whenever necessary. My instructor was very nice and patient. We just drove around my neighborhood and the surrounding area. He even had a checklist of things we had to cover, e.g. hand signals, parking beside a curb. My sessions were two hours apiece, with a few minutes break to rest. Once the lesson was over, he would give feedback on what I had to improve on. (I paid with a check at the end of every lesson.) But it's not enough just to take these lessons, no matter how helpful they are. You also have to practice by yourself (with a licensed driver 25 or older sitting beside you, of course). This, as my instructor explained, helps build confidence. All in all, a good foundation to build your driving skills on and a positive learning experience. read more

Let me tell you, we were not disappointed. Professionalism at its best is what we experienced, and at very reasonable prices. Our son was able to get his DL without any hiccups.
