We have used Driversity for both of our kids when they were learning to drive (2024 and 2026). Each time, we were really pleased at the quality of lessons, the professionalism and the confidence our kids gained as they got close to their behind the wheel tests. Each one passed no problems. The instructors are awesome and very kind, I couldn't recommend them highly enough. read more

Derek was great!!! My daughter passed her test with flying colors thanks to Derek and his ability to teach all the important info! He was confident in her and it made her confident in herself. read more

Huge shoutout to my daughter's instructor Dean! He taught her so much! She felt very comfortable with him, felt like he took the time to really teach her and work on things she needed to improve on. He was very accommodating, quick with her report cards and overall a great teacher. Thanks Dean! read more

My son just had his first behind the wheel session with Derek and we couldn't be more pleased. As a student brand new to driving and as a nervous parent we were both equally relieved that it went well. Purchasing his package online and booking over the phone was easy. The instructor showed up right on time and even gave me the breakdown of the lesson and how it went to me in person with my son there to listen. Already WAY better than the last company I hired for my older teenage driver. Best part is according to my son, even when he made a big mistake he gently corrected him and stayed calm and positive the whole time! 100% recommend this company and instructor!! read more

We used Driversity for my son a few years ago and now my daughter just completed her training with them as well. They make everything so easy and the instructors are great. My daughter really appreciated Dean. He made her feel at ease and she learned a lot. He's calm and communicative. He definitely put this anxious mama at ease. Our experience was 10/10. Thank you Dean and the entire Driversity staff!!! read more

My son took the online class and behind the wheel training with them. The drivers show up in a clean car. I didn't get worried when they came to the door. They instructors made my husband and I very comfortable. One instructor called to let us know she was going to be 15 minutes last. It was pouring that day and she wanted to make sure we weren't standing around waiting. She actually showed up right on time. Great customer service! read more

Warren was wonderful with my daughter, Ananda. He was flexible with her tight scheduling, extremely knowledgeable, and patient in his teaching methods. I watched her go from pretty okay to great! He really got her well prepared for the big test. Not only that, she passed with zero errors driving with one of the toughest DMVs around. Even the rep was surprised at her score when he issued her interim license. We highly recommend Warren and Driversity. read more

We used them for the online self guided class and driving lessons. Not a single issue with them in our case. We had Devin for our first lesson and he was great. Our next two lessons were with Dionne and they were also just as fantastic. Our son did driving in our town, the freeway, Antioch and who knows where else. For the online courses you just need to stay on your own child to make sure they are doing it in a timely manner. Leave enough time to get the sign off from the office. My son barely did that. read more

I just had my first lesson with Ms. Joyce and it was fantastic. Booking was simple and they have several accessible payment options. Several reviews led me to choosing her as my instructor and I have no regrets. I am an adult driver with some experience and was looking to build more confidence in m lessons with her before taking my test. She picked me up from home and inquired about my experience. We went though a checklist of actions to ensure I felt comfortable in the car and prepared for the road. I really appreciated her teaching style and efforts to get me comfortable while also assessing my skill levelly driving around locally (lots of turns, stops, intersections, U turns, etc.) . She was encouraging in her nature and helpfully articulated her feedback/answers when I made an error or had specific question. I also appreciated that she walked me through my report card after my lesson which gives me areas to focus improving on between and during future lessons. Ms. Joyce is super kind and cares about her students not only passing their test but being safe drivers on the road. I am grateful for her ability to provide though rough guidance while also empowering me to become a thoughtful and attentive driver. I feel safe on the road with her. I truly didn't want to leave a review in fear that others will learn what a wonderful instructor she was, making I difficult to get an appointment, but all new drivers should have an instructor as great as Ms. Joyce! read more

My daughter had all her lessons with Dean. He was awesome. He was patient and made my daughter feel comfortable behind the wheel.

Dean was great! Very patient and knowledgeable. Answered all the questions that have come up during practice driving. Highly recommend him!

2 out of 3 of my driving lessons were instructed by dean, who is a fantastic teacher! not only is he very kind, he's helpful, calm, and super aware of aware of his surroundings. it was easier to relax and drive on the road with such a collected instructor. his teaching style is fantastic, as he gives the student an opportunity to drive wherever they'd like and get a feel of the road, rather than sticking to a singular spot. additionally, whenever i had no idea where i was driving, he'd guide me directly back to the appropriate place. a few of the skills i got to practice was reversing, 3-point turns, turns, u-turns, merging, and even driving on the freeway. while the instruction packages are on the pricier end, you'll get what you need as a first-time learner; patience, a learning opportunity, and a bit of experience. read more

Warren and Dean were excellent driving instructors for son, and my son passed the driving test on the first try! I found Driversity to be responsive, professional and a pleasure to deal with. I also found it extremely convenient that they would come to our house to pick up our son for his lesson. I will definitely use Driversity again for my other kids when it's time. read more

I did all 3 lessons with Dean and he was great! He allowed you to drive wherever and was always very calm even when I needed to be corrected he was respectful and taught very well. I also got to practice everything u turns, reversing, parking , 3 point turns, freeway, etc. Overall a very good experience! read more

Who's the lady receiving phone calls and setting the appointments? I'm so sad for her! she sounds unhappy, grumpy and like she doesn't want to be there. Please put somebody else, first impressions and positive welcoming tone of voice are very important for a business. Im searching for another driving school for sure. read more

I paid for a couple lessons for my daughter recently and I was overall pleased. They come to your home to pick up the student. My daughter had the same instructor each time. An older gentleman who was friendly. She did say he was nice overall and her second time out on the road was better than the first. They took her on the freeway the first lesson so that was good! She didn't have much driving experience until driving with them so I was nervous but all went well and I definitely think it helped her confidence. Lessons are costly but I think most of these places are based on my research. I will say sometimes when I called to set an appointment or pay the lady on the phone was sometimes rude as all hell.. cheer up why don't ya!? Overall I recommend! read more

LaTisa and Dean were incredible instructors! Initially I was nervous but LaTisa made my first lesson comfortable, she was both patient and firm. My final lesson with Dean was probably the most relaxing, but not without his careful attention to detail. I appreciate both their attitudes and communication. I recommend purchasing the 2 hour lesson plan instead of the 1.5. As a driving student, that extra half hour helps to correct your mistakes and refine your skills, instead of cutting the lesson short. read more

The driver instructor was so nice and helped me get from "wait, so which one is the gas pedal again?" to driving on the streets between cities. I feel so much more comfortable behind the wheel after my first lesson. The instructor was very reassuring and pointed out things I was doing well so I wouldn't get discouraged. He still, of course, gave me very well-constructed criticism and provided many different approaches (verbally, drawing it out on paper and physically showing me) to explain different concepts to me and fix errors that I consistently made. Overall a great experience, the instructor really knew what he was talking about and is a great teacher. read more

Christina is very kind and attentive. She made me feel very at ease while we were driving, and I never had the feeling that she was pressuring me into anything I wasn't ready for. She was patient with me when I made mistakes, which allowed me to learn and grow from them. She taught me more than any other instructor has taught me, and I believe a large part of that is due to her calm demeanor. I will definitely stick with her as my instructor and recommend her to everyone who books with Driversity. read more

The first driver I had was sick and they got me sick and the second driver I had, their car smelled like cigarettes.

This place is great for online drivers ed. Both of my kids have done it and seemed to have an easy time. I was able to drive to their office in Antioch and pick up their certificates to shorten the wait time that mailing them would have required. read more

We have had 2 wonderful lessons thus far with Christina ( Concord Area) .. one more in the near future. As a parent I really appreciate her professionalism and her attentiveness towards my daughter. Christina is a wonderful instructor and person all around. Thank you read more

I used this company for one teen and it went okay. I used this company for the next teen and it was bad. The driving instructor was panicky and made my teen nervous. My teen braked for an animal in the road and the instructor grabbed the dashboard and let out a short scream. My teen could get that with me as their instructor. We ended up switching to another driving school to finish up the lessons. I guess it depends on who you get as an instructor. However they were accommodating to us switching to another school without hassle. read more

My instructor cancelled my appointment that I made in The beginning of February and rescheduled to the end of march.

GARGABE! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS SCAM! I wish my husband had read other reviews before booking with these thieves. My son just finished his online training, and has now been kicked off the site and cannot gain access. When calling the business, we were told we simply just need to start over again. EXCUSE ME!? That is not customer service, and is certainly not the service we paid for. This is clearly a scam, or simply just a business who doesnt care one bit about their customers. Either way, save your money and go elsewhere. read more

Disrespectful and rude staff. I catch a family owned feeling from this place in the worst way. My family member had taken the online course this "establishment" provides. Theres proof of completion and receipts for the course. The owner (who you may see respond to these posts in a immature childish manor)Rainey Robinson will not report the completion to the DMV. Mind you things like this affect your driving record and insurance payments. The owner and receptionist are rude and unprofessional. They're not about customer service or their reputation either. Try talking to them and read the other reviews. Don't come here. Don't waste your time or money. Or sanity....This place is partnered with the DMV and i cannot understand why. read more

i paid $170 for a 2 hour lesson hoping to learn something new such as going on freeway , learning how to parallel park , etc . all i was told to do was drive around the city on easy streets , which is something a parent could've showed me . i was also told to drive the instructor to their office for them to waste 15-20 of my paid minutes sitting in the parking lot waiting for them . i learned absolutely nothing , im pretty disappointed especially for the amount of money i spent . it also mentions on the website all the things able to be taught during the lesson , i told the instructor everything i knew and was hoping theyd teach me everything i didn't so my time would be worth the $170 , this experience was definitely not with the $170 . read more

Online sign up was incredibly easy, they offer online payments as well. TJ showed up on time and was super nice. My student said she felt comfortable and hey first lesson was great. 10/10 would recommend TJ again. read more

Update overdue actually...son ended up testing at pittsburg DMV and passing on his first try. thanks to Driversity. FYI you need an appointment at every DMV for behind the wheel test in CA and need to make that appointment at least 3-4 month in advance because of the waiting list. read more

Whatever you do, don't chose this school. They just debited my account and cancelled my daughters lesson. It started with her fist lesson with Diversity, which was her second behind the wheel lesson. The fist behind the wheel lesson was with a driving school out of Oakley CA of which went bankrupt. The Oakley School collect the full payment then went Bankrupt, so I was already damaged by the first driving school. Well Diversity took my first payment and showed up for the lesson. It was one of the owners Rainy Robinson, she looked rough around the edges, but I thought she must know her stuff...well not true! After 3 hours the showed up at the house, dropped my daughter off, and drove off. My daughter comes in the door and breaks down in tears, crying on my shoulder like her dog had died. She told me that the lady was so mean to her!!!! She was making rude comments and gesturing after each honest mistake without explanation. I had never seen Jacklyn this way before, so terrified and hurt. Jacklyn's very first behind the wheel lesson with the Oakley Driving School went just fine and Jacklyn really liked the lady instructor. The only issue was that they went bankrupt, at least they had the moral compass to send us a certificate of completion. I was angry at the instructor for treating my daughter so badly I immediately called and left a voice mail complaint, explaining how this old lady was rude and mean to my daughter. Who does that...who makes the lesson such a bad experience that they do not want to every go through something so horrible? By the look at some of the other Yelp reviews it is making sense that the issue is with Rainy Robinson. So weeks go by and I had time to finally follow up to get the certificate for my daughter for the one lesson she did take. In doing so the receptionist apologized that Jacklyn had such a bad experience etc etc. So I decided to schedule another appointment as long as we did get the mean old lady!!!! They agreed and scheduled the appointment. I paid today for the lesson that was scheduled for Sunday, the debited my account, then later that afternoon sent me a cancelation notice stating that Jacklyn's lesson had been cancelled. The e-mail was sent by Kathy. Then just minutes later Rainy Robinson sent me an e-mail stating that they cancelled Jacklyn's appointment because I called an left an abrasive message on their voice mail. So the took my appointment, knew about my appointment, took my money, then went in for the KILL! Well my friends that is fraudulent behavior wouldn't you say? I hope before you consider this business you make sure you don't get the mean lady. What a nightmare!!!! Thanks, Randy read more

If I could I would have given Driversity Driving School a -0. The person who answered the phone was extremely rude. When I asked her questions about my son's appointment and lessons she got frustrated and she called me a B**** and hung up. My personal opinion is this place is not a professional establishment. read more

I would not recommend this online drivers ed. My daughter started it and had nothing but problems. The program continued kicking her out as if her time was up. I called and got the problem resolved only for it to happen again. This particular program is boring, not interactive and has tons of glitches. She absolutely hated it and every time she had to get on to fulfill more work she dreaded it. Finally, it kicked her off again and she called to handle it on her own. The lady seemed bothered by her call and made no effort to resolve. I decided to enroll her into another online drivers ed and used driversed.com. she loved it and was happy to get onto the program and learn. Do not waste your time or money with driversity. read more

I would NOT RECOMMEND this company. Instructor assigned for my daughter had a very bad attitude during the whole process of teaching. She even said that she couldn't wait till the lesson is over so she could see her cats. Wow, is this what I paid for my daughter to experience as a first time driver? I hope you train your teachers to be more positive and encouraging. I feel for the students who are nervous to begin with and still not receive the proper treatment and training they deserve! read more

Last of my 4 kids is in the home stretch of permit and In Car before the license. We have used Driversity many times and always a good experience. Yesterday, my daughter had "Dion" who came to the door when the lesson was over and gave a recap. She was so professional, polite and articulate about what my girl did well and what needed more work. She is an absolute GEM! Happy that her next one is with Dion as well. read more

If I could I will give 0 stars. Very unprofessional company, instructor was extremely rude an unpleasant and did not provide the service described ion their website. Gave contradictory information to my teenage son putting him at risk and finally did not sign his permit. Called the receptionist and what an unpleasant woman, she would not listen to me, and would not acknowledge their poor service and offer a fair solution. I can see that many people share the same frustration with both the receptionist and the instructor (Kim). Go somewhere else! even though I already paid for the first lesson, I rather start and pay again with a more reputable company. read more

I'm a little late on this review. My oldest daughter took the class along with the driving instruction portion a few years back. Needless to say she's an amazing driver now. NOW I had my youngest daughter take the permit portion of class and she just took her Dmv she passed her permit with flying colors. This school I is amazing Warren is a great instructor he takes his time and teaches. Truly dedicated instructor. I highly recommend Driversity driving school. read more

Poor customer service! Instead of trying to find a solution you bash your customer by falsifying information. When i spoke to the representative I was calm and waited for a call back which i never recieved. Then I get a message from staff being extremely unprofessional. Its unbelievable how they treat their customers. I bully the staff? When its clear in my screen shots thats whats being done to me. Blows my mind. read more

We live in Lamorinda and had Diversity Driving School give our youngest her required driver training. What a wonderful experience - they are very knowledgeable, calm, and prepared her very well. It was such a great experience - wish we knew about them for our first driver! ... and can I say she was so well prepared, she passed her DMV driving test with ease. read more
