We'd already bought the full package here -- in-person lessons plus simulator sessions -- so I had high hopes going in. That changed after picking my daughter up from her third simulator session, when she was told she'd need a fourth. I asked staff to explain why. Instead of a real answer, I got "she sucks at driving" and "she understands nothing." When I pushed for specifics -- what exactly she's struggling with, since we're paying for actual instruction -- they said she doesn't understand road signs. That doesn't add up: she's already passed her permit test and talks through signs with me on real drives all the time. My daughter's account matched what I'd heard: instructors just told her she was wrong, over and over, with no explanation and no attempt to adjust their teaching to how she learns. Simulators aren't a one-size-fits-all tool, and a good instructor should be able to diagnose why a student is stuck -- not just blame the student. The two staff members we dealt with (one blonde with glasses, one tall with dark hair) were condescending and dismissive. At one point they accused my daughter of being "entitled" -- ironic, considering they couldn't be bothered to actually teach. We're requesting a refund for the remaining sessions. Save your money and time -- go elsewhere. read more

Was an amazing experience to really get 'driving' experience before getting permit. Helps to reinforce rules of road and sim sessions mimicked area roads which will help confidence. Post-drive reports show areas of improvement which will be useful. Ease of booking appointments online and facility and staff are wonderful. Greenlight was a great experience for my child. The owners were very friendly and supportive. The simulation practice covered on and off the freeways with merging at the proper speed so that when we went for driving practice we both were more at ease and felt safer. My daughter gained tremendous confidence in driving after taken driving lessons from Greenlight Simulation. She was reluctant to learn and was nervous. After 6 lessons with the simulation, she was able to drive in real life without any hesitation. Jason and Josh have been very supportive and encouraging. You can practice how to steer, use the pedals, and learn how to properly track with your eyes in a safe, non-threatening environment. This is a great way for a new driver to get some experience before actually getting behind the wheel of a real car. Jason was with my son during each of his appointments. He was very knowledgeable and had such a calming presence. My son is not one to get excited about much, and usually complains about going anywhere, except with his friends. This really helped me gain the confidence to try driving again. I got my permit a few years ago but practice was such a stressful experience that I didn't want to continue. I've been too scared to get my license. My mom finally convinced me to try this program, starting from basic training (Core-6) and then doing the open driving sessions for a month. The first day, even though it was a simulation, I was scared and white-knuckling the wheel. Now, I'm actually excited to get my permit and start practicing in real life. My 16 year old son procrastinated on even getting his permit because he was scared to get behind the wheel of a car. I wish this had been opened sooner. I took my second child to Greenlight simulation and it has made all the difference now that he is getting behind the wheel. I've seen more confidence, knowledge of road signs and general awareness when compared to my older child, who did not attend Greenlight.
