A1 Auto's Carstar Collision is truly exceptional. My family and I have had two vehicles repaired at their shop. They're the only place I would take my car(s) to get repaired. Bianca and Billy provided my family and me outstanding customer service. Their professionalism made a stressful situation seamless. Kudos to the auto technicians, their attention to detail is second to none. They should be called the "forensic car techs." They uncovered hidden damages made to my suspension system that was missed by another repair shop. But Carstar's technicians noticed the damage immediately. I'm truly grateful to all of them for noticing the damage that could've resulted in a serious safety hazard on the road. Moreover, due to the fact the other repair shop missed the damages of the suspension system, it wasn't included in the insurance claim and I ended up paying for the repairs ($1700), and poor workmanship. NEVER BRING YOUR CAR HERE. Customer service here is the worst I've ever dealt with in my life. & on top of that when I got my car back it still had damage that they were suppose to fix!! They will not give you any updates when your car is in their shop. They took almost a month to fix something that they told me was going to take 2 weeks. When the 2 weeks had came up, I called the office to find out what was going on because I had not heard back from them. I got on the phone with one of there employees named Angela Perry & the disrespect I received from her was astronomical. The whole time she talked to me like I was inconveniencing her. & she slowed down her words and talked to me like I was stupid. When I asked her why she was talking to me that way she freaked out and then proceeded to hang up the phone on me. I went into the business a couple hours later to make a complaint about her and the manager I talked to didn't help what so ever. He completely ignored all the complaints and talked about giving me updates himself. Usually the manager will reassure you that they will have a talk with their employee about how they acted or apologize for the behavior. But he never once said anything about it. So I guess there employees here can act how ever they please and treat customers like trash. But that isn't the last of this lady's disrespect. When picking up my car today and I had my daughter drop me off. Finally after a month in the shop it was apparently finished. But once I tried to pick up my car they informed me for the first time that I had gotten a letter for my insurance check and they needed it before they could give me my car back. Not once was aware of a check being mailed and would have appreciated them giving me a heads up. I had been dropped off and had no way of getting home because my phone was not on me. I was stranded there and asked them if there was a chance I could get a ride home because I would have to walk. & keep in mind I am a 53 old woman with a lot of issues just a couple weeks out of back surgery. But the employees said no they couldn't help me. Even though I told them I lived less than 5 mins away driving. But they still refused. Also a manger was there that refused. I saw previous review of another person that had the same thing happen to them! This resulted in me having to walk home in 100+ degrees in weather at my age. But once I was able to bring in the check Angela Perry the one with no customer service skills needed to help me with that. Which I told the man I didn't want her helping me I would like him to help me because of the previous issues. & she laughed out loud and shook her head at me. Asking what her issue was she thought it was funny to just straight antagonize us. Later saying "I don't need this job". Angela Perry needs to be fired. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. This place is a joke!!!!!! Management doesn't care about customers and the employees can treat you however you like! Plus they claimed more repairs on my car that didn't need to be done. Which is very fishy, insurance fraud from what I think. This place looks great from the outside but BEWARE. This place is ran unprofessional and lies are being told. If the owner replies to this and claims anything different it makes no difference. After numerous delays and excuses about why vehicle wasn't going to be ready on multiple dates promised (which I could accept and waited patiently thru even though they almost resulted in me having to pay for final days of car rental due to insurance not accepting reason for further delays as someone "forgot to order a part"), the final straw for me was when we were left without a way home and had to walk in the freezing rain because I refused to pay an illegal $80 debit card surcharge, 3%. Merchants can only charge a surcharge when a customer pays with a credit card, up to 4% in Texas. The fee cannot be charged on debit cards regardless of whether the merchant or customer runs the debit card as debit or credit. They knew from day 1 that I'd be paying about half of the costs from a check the other party's insurance had sent me early on (payable to me only) when the insurance did their initial low ball repair quote, yet at no point in the 3 times I called that day about picking the car up did they discuss payment with me to make sure I knew - according to their illegal surcharge policy - that I could only pay with cash unless I wanted to pay a huge fee out of pocket. Their policy, which we didn't know about until we were there to pick up the car, states there will be a fee for CREDIT CARD payments over $1000 - nothing about DEBIT because, again, that's illegal. Even their sign differentiates between credit and debit at the bottom under "accepted forms of payment", but Corey told us we'd be charged regardless. So when I refused to pay the illegal $80 fee, they refused to release the car to me and since the rental car had already been returned, we were left without a way home. It was almost 7 pm at night because we'd been sitting waiting for the car (surprise, it wasn't ready as promised). They said we'd have to come back in the morning with cash to get the car which we agreed to do, but since the rental car was already returned, we had no way home. So we asked manager Corey if someone could take us home and were told no. We'd just had a freezing winter storm blow through so it was about 35 degrees outside, dark and raining, and there were 4 men there and a nice big shiny company truck sitting right outside the front doors. We told them we lived less than 10 mins away - they didn't care. I was so angry I went outside so I could hold my tongue and not say something unproductive, but my husband tried to calmly and politely reason with them considering the conditions outside, as though a customer should be put in this situation in any type of weather. Please believe me when I tell you no one cared. I was expecting to just pick up my car so didn't have a coat on over my sweater. We literally had to leave and walk through the freezing rain across a VERY busy road in the dark (Louetta at 7pm) to get to a business across the road where we could get out of the rain and try to get a ride. It took a while for someone to get there and we were wet and shivering, just standing there dumbfounded. Went back in the morning with $2600 in cash and Corey nor any of the others bothered with an apology or an ounce of remorse. I'd also given them a set of replacement daytime running lightbulbs to replace one of mine that was out, for which I was going to pay out of pocket. They didn't replace them and kept the parts. I wonder what they've done with all the illegally collected debit card fees they've charged customers over the years? *Editing to add that Owner Don Ward claims he's reviewed video and audio and we were offered a ride twice - this is an outright lie. If that was the case, why didn't we take the ride we had asked for? Why did we leave walking in the freezing rain at night? We asked for a ride home twice and were refused. I asked Don Ward to send me via email this audio proof he claims to have and he stated he could not do that. And that's because I am telling the 100% truth. He repeatedly insisted it's not illegal to surcharge debit cards and when I repeatedly told him he was wrong, he changed his story to state that they don't/can't accept debit cards. When I asked why their own sign says both debit and credit are accepted, he stated it was probably an old sign. The culture clearly begins at the top here. read more

Front right quarter panel and wheel damage. First time estimate I received was 3 weeks. That was in July. New case manager who doesn't return calls. It's the classic "delays in parts" and all that. Once they have your vehicle, they got you. the 4.7 rating on their site is bogus. Recommended to me by State Farm, but do not send your car there. Took 4 weeks to get the job done, put a cracked part back on with out ordering another one. Sanding dust all over engine bay that was clean enough to eat off when we took the Vehicle there for repairs. Scratches on the other side of the car from them pulling tarps on it to protect that side from over spray. Took it back for the part replacement and fixing the scratches in undamaged area. They buffed out some of them and did not get them all. So disgusted with the experience taking to to a more reputable company that CARES about the quality of work. HAD to go by to get any communication from them. Owner asked if we were getting texts after all this I told him we were never told about using that form of communication with them. DO NOT return phone calls! Will drive around with damage if they are the only choice for repairs. read more

Employees lack internal communication. Our vehicle was brought in for an insurance repair and the repair was delayed about 3 - 4 times because either the initial agent didn't note down the issues I had when brining in the vehicle or he failed to communicate with the techs. When the car was picked up there was some repairs that weren't done because one of their agent "didn't think it was caused by the accident" so the insurance didn't want to cover it. Being realistic, if something works pre-accident and then it doesn't after, that is a basic indication that the accident caused some sort of issue that needs repair. We picked up our vehicle about 90 days ago and now the muffler is now making a noise which was one of the repairs that they "allegedly" made. This was our experience and I hope others can take precaution before considering this location. read more

I called a bunch of places to see to getting a front bottom splitter installed and they all said they couldn't do it then when I called A1 Auto's CARSTAR Collision and told them the situation they were really nice and told me to come by and that they would install it since it was a small upgrade part and easy to do. Went it was greeted and paper work took about 5 minutes and the installation took only about 30-35 minutes and was out the door. So definitely would recommend this place it was reasonable pricing, good customer service and they completed the task in a timely manner. read more

When i got the vehicle I received my vehicle with more scratches than when i sent it. I don't know how could someone "professional" could release a vehicle with damages like that. They took it back to get it fixed and they told me it was going to get it done in 2-3 days and come to find out they're taking a whole week to get it fixed. Our car had a MINOR accident with just a small crack in the front bumper. We took it in on Monday, Feb 20 and were told the car would be ready on Friday, February 24. Then on Friday they said the car would be ready on March 6! More than a week later than we were told originally. March 6th they called and said the car would be ready March 9th. March 9th they said the car would be ready March 10 but would not give me a time. Wow! I am so impressed with this place. My daughter was in an accident and the repair was covered by the other drivers insurance. The KIA dealership recommended A1as the bodyshop to use. Christian has been handling our repair and has kept us in the loop about parts they were waiting on from KIA. They are very good at communicating with customers. When we went to pick up our car yesterday there was a scratch that was unrelated to the accident on the hood. I believe it happened at the impound yard the car was taken to after the accident. Christian spoke to his manager about the scratch. Knowing the insurance company wouldn't cover it, they told me they would fix it for us free of charge. I was blown away. I am so excited to pick my car up on Monday. Car accidents suck, but these guys are the best place to call when your car needs to be put back together! read more

Was my car repaired to my satisfaction? yes....BUT... did it just sit on the lot for two and half days before they even started? yes, and this is where I was dissatisfied. I took my car in for an estimated four day repair on Monday morning as scheduled weeks before. They were supposed to call me on Tues to confirm when it would be ready. On Wednesday, after not yet hearing from them by noon, I called and was told that they had not yet begun working on my repairs. They took photos on Monday, and on Tuesday they scheduled it with a technician. An hour after I called they actually started looking at my car, and I think this was only because I told them that I wanted to come pick it up. This was two and a half days that it just sat on the lot. I don't have an extra car. Rent cars were unavailable at the time. I took my car on a week when school was out so that not having transportation would not be an issue. But since it spent two and a half days just sitting there, my four day repair was now going to push into next week putting me in a position of having to figure out how to get kids to school and me to work. Had I been spending $100 or so a day to rent a car I would have been even angrier that nearly three days of that time was unnecessary. Had they realized on Monday that they could not work on my car until Wednesday afternoon I would have rescheduled the minor repairs until the next school break in December. They were fully aware that the reason I had scheduled the repairs when I did was because school was out that week. They were also fully aware that rent cars were available at this time. We had talked about all of this even as I dropped my car off. They did manage to do the four day repair in only three days so that I was able to pick it up late Monday afternoon so I will give them that. I just wish they would have been more upfont with the actual timeline from the beginning on Monday when I dropped it off so that I could have made other arrangements for the repair. read more

I have used these guys twice in the last year. One insurance claim and one out of pocket. Both times the experience could not have gone better. All you can ask for a body shop is good work, a fair price, trying to stay on their schedule and keeping me informed. They checked all four boxes. I would highly recommend to anyone. Also they are good guys on a personal level. Very professional. All the customers in the shop at the times I was there were very happy. Would give 0 stars if I could. Took my car in for a basic rear view camera repair from damage that was a result of previous shoddy work. This shop has done a few other small jobs with the car that would always take WEEKS of miscommunication to get started and then MONTHS of my car sitting outside in the elements to complete. Because of their poor handling of my vehicle I have gone through 2 batteries and a set of tires that I don't even get to use because the car is now immobile due to shoddy work. They are apparently in cahoots with their scammer stereo shop friends who claimed I needed an entirely new head unit to restore my rear view camera and *of course* an OEM wouldn't be available so they took it upon themselves to destroy my wiring harness and install a stereo that is not suited to my car. No one ever contacted me about this or consulted with me about what should be done about this. This also took them SEVERAL MONTHS of my car being in their possession. The stereo had non catastrophic issues within a few months and by the time the problem became permanent and diagnosis was isolated to the stereo the stereo unit itself was out of warranty (shocking, I know). The stereo works fine though, it just isn't suited to the horrible wiring job that was done. This means that despite the malfunction being caused directly by the work the subsequent catastrophic failures would not be covered by either shop. The stereo unit itself works perfectly fine, but the wiring job caused multiple shorts and permanent damage to my car which has caused it to not run. The car has been explored by the dealership for the past 2 months so they can locate all of the various damages that have been done due to the shoddy wiring of the stereo. Staff at A1 turned over multiple times during this ordeal and the latest version of their staff has flat out refused to do *ANYTHING* to correct this problem, and even implied that the problem was my fault because I opened my dash to look at their horrible work and verify that, yes, the work is horrible and the stereo is functioning fine. They were supposed to have presented a receipt for the work so that I can contact my insurance about this but ghosted me 2 months ago and refuse to even respond to my absolutely valid issues with the way they handled this scenario. While this shop may have been great in the past they are now completely dysfunctional and I will do anything I can to keep this from happening to other people. read more

I have been to A1 on many occasions for both collision and cosmetic repair. The owner Don and his staff are very professional and willing to help with anything you need. They truly go ABOVE AND BEYOND in the customer service department! The quality of the repairs always exceeds expectations and are properly done. The paint color for my car is rare and I was worried that you might be able to tell a difference however, that was not the case! It was a true match and even the most experienced eye would not be able to tell that it was repainted. The shop is always clean and well organized plus it has a cute retro vibe! I don't know how to express my feelings to this place, Dodge dealership recommended this place to get some repairs done from an accident paid by the other party insurance, I have to say the staff there were friendly but when it came to my car I hardly got any updates on the status on my car and if there was going to be additional time needed to repair my car. I was always calling them to get a status. The day when I was set to pick up my car they call me an hour before it was time for me to pick it up and told me my car was not going to be ready. I was very upset cause not only did I live an hour away from them but they had already call me when I was about to head over there. The next day I went in to pick up my car and it still had some damage on my car and condensation in one of my headlights (remind you this is a brand new 2021 car) I was very upset because not only did I waste my time and had to leave work but I also wasn't able to take my car home that day! Overall I don't know if I will ever recommend this place and I will for sure let dodge dealership my experience here with them. read more

CHRISTIAN made this overall experience draining begging to end.. No one communicated anything with us unless we called. Our vehicle was given back 2 days late after we'd already gotten confirmation it would be done on March 9th (we returned our rental that day) since car star had our vehicle since January 25th. Car was dirty after they told us it would take about 4 hours to get it cleaned & polished, when we picked it up it was dirty.. I asked, someone told us the vehicle would be cleaned. "By no means are we detailers". Had to bring my vehicle back the next day as they didn't put clips on the back that got worked on. Told them about my tailgate not working since we'd told them on January 25th when we first dropped off our vehicle, only to find out the day we picked it up that never got brought up to the insurance. Also our camera stopped working. Now we have to take it to another shop to get checked & worked on, when this could've been handled for the month & a half they worked on the vehicle. And he also gave the adjuster incorrect information, that he couldn't back up. Truly truly a draining experience. They lack sense of urgency. read more

I intended to use A1, so my insurance company sent them a 2-party check, made out to A1 AND to me, for the amount of the estimate. (The procedure is that you sign the check once you are satisfied with the work, then they can deposit it.) Unfortunately, I was delayed getting the work done, then decided to change to another body shop after my car was involved in another accident. When I tried to arrange for the initial damage to be repaired at the new shop, I learned that A1 had already cashed the 2-party check my insurance company sent them... WITHOUT my signature (illegal), and WITHOUT doing any work (inappropriate). Now my insurance company is balking at paying the new shop for the repairs, because they say they've already paid. Bottom line, a company that would deposit a 2-party check without both endorsements is not operating on the up-and-up, and I'm paying the price for their actions. read more

Took a car here on Christmas Eve that needed a window regulator. They placed a board in the door to hold the window up until the part came in. The vehicle ended up needing costly repairs that I had done elsewhere and the window needed to wait. I called asking for the assembly back cause the motor was still in working order and I didn't want it to get lost. Ed willingly gave me the part back. I felt bad about not being able to get the repair done so I offered to pay the labor for putting the board in. He charged me $92! The replaced regulator job was going to cost $233 so I basically paid for half a job I DID NOT have done. I appreciated the help but after that experience, I will not return. read more

This place was extremely unprofessional and untimely. I was forced to bring my car here after my wreck because they were partnered with my insurance company. Not only was my car there for almost two months,they made me wait several hours in the shop just to tell me to go home and that it was not ready. After driving all the way from Dallas to pick up my car 2 weeks later than what they told me,I found latent/obvious defects in the care they provided. For one, some of the decals on my car were popping out and I had to push them back in. Secondly, they drained all of the gas in my car and didn't even have the decency to fill it back up once returned, and last but not least, I found two new dents in my car. Despite having such a bad experience,no one apologized to me about the inconvenience when picking up my car. I will be forced to take my car to another body shop to make sure everything gets fixed properly. read more
