Both had masks on!) He promptly furnished a quote (he was the second to bid, and was the middle of the three bids). What convinced me to go with them was this: When they came to review the job, I had a reference sheet from City of Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety...and Mark said that they build to a much higher standard, and described including more rebar than the city requires, etc. He also talked about specifically matching the existing wall. His priorities seemed to match ours. Mark had said that they would be showing up at 7AM on the appointed day, and texted me at 7 to tell me that they would be 10 minutes late. I really appreciated that, as I had recently used a contractor who showed up when they chose to show up. Wall Brothers is clearly client-focused. Mark said that the job would be 3-4 days, and it was done in under 3. New wall matches the existing wall (and it's not a standard concrete block size) well. Crew was friendly and accessible throughout the job. There was a small miscommunication that was quickly corrected without incident, another measure of a good firm. Finally, each day, the crew left the site cleaned up. When the job was completed, one of the crew remained to clean up the site, and other than the new wall, you would not know a construction crew had been here this week! I'm entirely comfortable referring Wall Brothers Construction for their concrete/masonry work, and will certainly be calling them again as needed. The name PRESTIGE says a lot about their character and they are located in Granada Hills. After asking around and doing a Google and Yelp search, I kind of gave up hope. Never give up hope. A lot of the places were located all the way in the boonies and were very far from where I live. Couldn't drive all the way to those far places with my old car. I was talking to a friend of mine about this issue, and she referred me to this place and told me that they do a great job. So I took her word for it and made a phone call last week and talked to a guy by the name of Robert. I don't know if he is the owner or one of their employees. We made an appointment and they came and picked up my stuff within 2 days after my phone call. That's some fast and quick service. I gathered all my stuff together, and some things had never even been used. Maybe once or twice. Sitting there, collecting dust. I had an old Boom Box and its remote control, two small Sony speakers, an old JVC VHS player that came with its own remote control and also had a cassette player. An electric pencil sharpener, and an old printer, that was no longer working properly. One of the things that I liked about Robert was that he was very patient, kind, and explained to me all the details step by step, one by one. They also pick up recycled bottles, cans, cartons, & paper. I had a whole bag of it. Of course, our apartment building has a large dumpster for us to recycle. I am all about keeping the environment clean. They were very professional and one of the guys accidentally dropped few of the pieces on my carpet and apologized right away. Every item has it's own price. For all that, they gave me $115.00 that also included 10% of the space that your belongings take in their truck. Two guys came, I think one's name was Nelson, and can't remember the other guy's name. Even their big, long truck was clean and arrived on time. Exactly at 11am. They accept credit cards and cash. Also gave me a receipt. They accept the following items, which are: electronic devices, furniture, waste, home appliances, houseware stuff (mattress), garbage, along with landscaping/for landfill. The rest I have already mentioned in my review. I mean those guys do it all and were super careful not to damage any part of your property. Inside or outside of the building. Two thumbs up and I will definitely use them if and when I need to recycle more stuff. Highly recommend them to everyone--in their time of need! Thank you all very much.
