Even with the sun shining, the ice was stubborn & my house being situated on the shady side of the street also didn't help. Days went by & I dealt with it because I was warm & toasty inside & had plenty of junk food to keep me distracted. But then I realized that it was time to get my car warmed up & on the road so that the engine oil didn't thicken too much; that's when the frustration AKA panic set in. I couldn't find anyone to remove the ice! Sure, I neglected to buy de-icer at the hardware store a couple weeks before the storm, but I never NEEDED it in the past & I don't think anyone was truly prepared for Ice-mageddon. I was apprehensive about contacting the company as there weren't many reviews to check out & those that were available focused on lawn care. But then I saw a couple 5-star reviews praising them for their snow removal services during the same winter storm & that's when I knew I had to hire them. I sent photos of what needed to be cleared, received a reasonable quote (hefty but reasonable for what was performed) & they were at my residence in no time! When the company was run by Chris Davitt there was far more of an emphasis on customer service and employee appreciation; since his retirement the remaining VPs and Management have in my opinion run this companies reputation and performance into the DIRT... I have heard from many customers over recent years that they either over prune or under prune; they tear up plants they shouldn't, and they basically just make it up as they go along. There is no structure to the training they provide if any training is even provided. It's a sink or swim mentality.
