This injection is meant to help decrease inflammation that was causing pressure on my sciatic nerve. We were warmly greeted when we arrived. I checked in at the front desk. Luckily, the day before, they emailed me a link to fill out all my paperwork. That proved to be very helpful and made the check-in process very easy and fast. The facility is very modern and large. There were quite a few people in the waiting area waiting to be called back for their procedures. The waiting area is very nice with plenty of seating. There was a big flat-screen TV for all to watch while waiting. They have a self-serve coffee area. You can choose your flavor and variety of Keurig pods and easily make yourself a nice hot coffee. My husband took advantage of that. I was called back within 15 minutes of checking in. The nurse taking care of me did a great job explaining the procedure and the order of events that were going to take place. She did an amazing job inserting my IV and kept me warm with heated blankets and a heating machine that blows warm air under the blankets. Since it was freezing in there, the warming machine felt so nice. I got to meet everyone in the surgical suite and was able to ask my Dr. questions before anesthesia was given to me. The surgeon, nurses, and technicians were all so nice and made me feel comfortable. Before I knew it, I was in recovery. The procedure was successful. They offered me juice of my choice while I was in the post-op area. The nurse removed my IV and helped me get dressed, while my husband moved the car to the patient pick-up area. This was one of the best outpatient experiences I have ever had. Everyone was so professional and friendly. They were very thorough with going over all my allergies. I'm allergic to a lot of medications, so that part is extremely important to get right. They took excellent care of me. If I need to have an out patient procedure, in the future, I would definitely choose to have it done here. I highly recommend coming here for an outpatient procedure.

My anesthesiologist was also fantastic, and of course I had a great experience with my doctor. I felt very well cared for by the clinical team. Where I think there is room for improvement is the front-office experience. The front desk came across as somewhat unprofessional and there wasn't much acknowledgment or greeting when patients arrived. Communication with the finance department was also frustrating, as I had difficulty getting calls returned. Overall, the medical care itself was wonderful and that's ultimately the most important part to me. I just wish the administrative experience matched the level of professionalism and warmth I received from the nurses, anesthesiologist, and my doctor.

I had a seizure after being forcibly injected with an antipsychotic. When I said so many times I am not psychotic. I have never hallucinated in my life. I've never done hard drugs or really much of anything. The staff put hands on me, would hit me for acting scared & even some crazy man hit me in the back of the head. Yet not a single staff member did anything. That could have been particularly what caused the seizure to occur my memory is a bit spotty from the whole thing. I just remember being held down & forcibly injected, then a while later smack to the back of the head by some big white guy (a patient). Then I have no clue what happened. Paramedics were there checking on me & they informed me that I had some kind of small seizure. I was taken to the ER in an ambulance. Staff would act petty & refuse to give me my things when I requested like tooth brush/ tooth paste at night. That was brought in by my family. They keep all the items in a small room near the living room area in baskets with each patient's names on it. They would refuse to let me use the phone (they have no wall phones only hand held old house phones like the ones that look like Nokia). Even after someone else had just gotten to use it. Staff want any excuse to put hands on you & physically hurt you. I got pushed to the floor in the kitchen area too many times to count. They are cruel & evil people. There are barely any activities to do. I was bored out of my mind. There is a lady that goes to do stretches & arts/ crafts. She's not there everyday. Most days people just watch TV all day long, barely moving or get patio time if it's not raining. SJ behavioral is structured so much better & has many activities for patients to participate in. Other patients would come into my room & take things. I couldn't sleep at all because one night I was trying to sleep & some crazy dude was in my room in the dark then he ran out. It's terrifying. I tried telling staff, they didn't care. No one took me seriously. Men & women are kept on the same floors. It's not safe at all. Recently I got sent a letter saying that Crestwood facility had a data breach & my information like Social Security could have been stolen. You couldn't even keep patient information secure? Is that not the bare minimum expectation of a HOSPITAL?! It instantly reminded me of my horrendous experience here and makes me upset, that no one is speaking out. Hell is empty because majority of evil people are working here at Crestwood. Your time will come, there is no corrupt heart that ever prevails. San Jose behavioral has so much more respect for their patients. The food is much better also & you are treated like a human being. The food at Crestwood is pure disgusting & awful. There is no filtered water, you get a cup & have to drink directly from the tap in your room. When I would try to get a new clean cup, they refused. Even after I told them that guy was in my room using my things. A lot of staff are completely dehumanizing towards people in their care. Some of the most vulnerable among our population. If you hate someone, like truly despise them. Send them here. I was so terrified being in Crestwood, I legitimately thought I was going to die being in this place. Combination of sleep deprivation, forced injections that changed my personality & made it hard for me to even move my own body as a very active person I was not used to this at all, and pure terror. I didn't think my body had any more fight left in it. Once I was finally home, I barely had the strength to open my eyes. Slowly after about 4 months, I gained my strength back. Then the nightmares started, for months on end. I thought I was still there, any time I would try to sleep. This place is hell on earth. If you can avoid it do NOT go here. I had my gallbladder removed on 26th of this month at Forest surgery center. It was totally a…read morenightmare as surgery itself sounds scary, but the nurses especially a nurse name David if I have not mistaken by his name was extremely sweet. He made me so comfortable even with inserting the IV for saline and also taking some test, that I didn't even feel a bit of pain, he was very gentle. He even made it sure that I didn't have any trauma seeing needles. After I got changed for my surgery I lied down on the assigned bed the nurse did few things like providing me with my warm air. I met with another nurse who very sweet to me had short blond hair, she gave me a pair of anti blood clot pumps for my legs just before my surgery. There after I was taken to the surgery room and took a very good care of me. After that I received my anesthesia and my surgery was done well by Dr. Kim. After all that I could only remember that is I was home just 3 hrs after my surgery and every one took an amazing care for me. My husband said that he brought my 5yr old daughter from school to pick me up from hospital as I was already in the recovery hut she was not allowed to enter as she was a child so my husband waited outside the hospital in the garage at that time I was taken out with gentle care by another nurse and she made me very comfortable. I had to use the toilet while in socks. They had no alternative and despite the fact that I am a germaphobe with OCD, they didn't help me or talk with me at all even after I brought up my concerns. I had to force myself to hold in my urine for 24 hours. 2. Despite my cautioning that I have a retainer set that's very expensive and inconvenient to obtain, one of the staff didn't know and threw it away. What's upsetting was that when my parents and I ask the staff to search for it, they didn't bother searching for nearly an entire day and after then, it was too late. The new set would take nearly a month and a whopping $500 to make.

After the procedure, I reviewed the Explanation of Benefits from my health insurer, and the amount billed to me appeared to be significantly higher than what I understood to be the insurer's indicated patient responsibility. Because billing matters can be complicated, I tried to contact the hospital to ask for clarification and to request a written review of the account. In my experience, however, the process was very difficult to navigate. The available communication appeared to rely mainly on phone calls during business hours, which was challenging for me because of my schedule. I left voicemail messages explaining the issue, and I also sent fax communications asking the hospital to review the account and respond. As of this review, I have not received a clear written response resolving the discrepancy. I later contacted my insurer to seek clarification as well. From my understanding, the balance may still be treated as unpaid or not fully resolved, although the matter remains under review. I am continuing to work with both the insurer and the hospital to understand the final amount, if any, that I actually owe. What has been frustrating is not the medical care, but the lack of a clear and accessible written communication process for a billing issue involving an insurance EOB. If the hospital disagrees with the insurer's EOB or believes additional patient responsibility applies, I would expect a clear written explanation so the patient can understand the basis for the charge and address it appropriately. Again, I appreciated the clinical care I received. However, the billing follow-up experience was stressful, time-consuming, and difficult to resolve. Prospective patients may want to confirm in advance how this hospital handles insurance billing, EOB discrepancies, written billing disputes, and communication options other than phone calls. I would also encourage prospective patients to read a range of reviews, including lower-rated reviews, before deciding where to receive care.
