Got message at 8:07 this morning !!!!! that tech had an emergency and wouldn't be coming. They'd randomly rescheduled me for another WEEK -- on a day I'm not available!!!! They apparently have only ONE repair person??? Is that the story? It didn't occur to them to shift around schedules so they could accommodate folks like me who built their work week around the appointment TODAY???? They think it's good customer service to cancel last minute??? I'm already out a ton of cash because I took today off. I don't know whether this place is good or not, but if they can't figure out how to get a repair person out to a job, if they think it's okay to cancel last minute, if they don't have the thinking skills to see how damaging it is to a client when they cancel last minute -- how the heck am I supposed to entrust they've got the thinking skills necessary to repair my appliance?

My home warranty company assigned Central Appliance West to service my washer and dryer. I filed a…read moreclaim on 12/4/2024 with the warranty. My scheduled appointment was 12/14/2024. The technician called (did not come to my home) asked me many questions regarding issue with the units and told me he was submitting a work order. The work order enabled him to get an idea the home warranty would pay for repairs. He then told/texted me he would apply the 777.00 for both unit repairs to the purchase price of a new washer/dryer set. 420217/When I texted so I just pay the balance? He responded no that I would need to pay total price upfront and he would refund me the 777.00 when the home warranty paid him. He said he would provide an invoice/contract covering the terms within 24 hours. As of 12/17/2024 nothing. I requested refund of 130.00 service call fee and he refused. I would be wary there is no follow through.

My regular (aka go to) Home Depot!…read more Now do I enjoy going to either Home Depot or Lowe's overall...? No. I work in IT...I'm not exactly a big hands on, do it yourself, home project guy... The things that make me like going to this Home Depot... 1. The app. If I don't choose to buy the item online and do a pick up the app tells me what aisle the item I'm looking for is in and what section of the aisle I can find it at. 2. They offer a veterans discount. Not much... But it pretty much covers the sales tax here in Iowa anyway... It's easy to sign up for and add to your app if you have ID.me setup. Once it's in your app you just scan the QR code for the discount when you check out. Like any other Home Depot or Lowe's no one is EVER around when you actually need them. And I've learned to deal with that... Lol Parking is easy. The lot is huge and the store is fully handcapped accessible. They do offer a special parking space for veterans as well (one spot). The store is clean and easy to navigate. When I do need to flag someone down for help they are usually personable enough...when you can finally locate someone. The big picture... It is what is is. A HUGE big box store, with affordable prices, housing every item you could need for a project...and then some!
