The 3 trees were within 2 feet of my fences and a swingset and they didn't damage anything - really knew what they were doing. They did everything they said they would and cleaned up everything afterwards by raking and leaf blowing the chips away. I'm a DIYer but this was too big a job for me so I had 3 companies give quotes. Lumberjack Tree Pros had the best price, were the most professional (came by when they said they would, returned phone calls, gave estimate in writing), and gave me confidence they knew what they were doing. They have a really great crew that know what they're doing.

When the crew left, my driveway had sustained damage that was not there before they arrived. There is a burned section where the asphalt has been damaged down to the underlying stone, along with three large fluid stains that appear to be oil or another automotive fluid. I have security camera footage showing the condition of my driveway before the crew arrived and after they left. I immediately attempted to contact the company to report the damage and request that someone contact me regarding repairs. When I was unable to reach anyone, I documented the damage with the New Jersey State Police, who advised that the matter appears to be civil in nature and generated a property damage report. What concerns me most isn't just the damage itself--equipment can fail and accidents happen. It's how the situation has been handled. Property damage should be acknowledged promptly, and customers and neighboring property owners deserve communication and accountability. If you are considering using this company, I strongly recommend discussing in advance how they will protect driveways and other surfaces from heavy equipment and what their process is if damage occurs. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend them.

They worked hard and efficiently - had the whole project well planned out in advance. They left the driveway and sidewalks cleaner than when they arrived (!) Very professional - two thumbs up! Original review: This was our second time working with the Greg Smith team, and it only underscored all the reasons we chose them in the first place. First, their attention to the phone lines is second to none. We worked with Judy who truly loves her job and goes above and beyond to make sure we understood every step of the way. The estimate was done on time and competitive. When we had questions Judy followed up promptly and reliably. We were concerned about the root structure and proximity to the property line, and the experienced team handled it perfectly. The work was done on time when they said they'd be there, and the team followed up after to ensure we were happy with the work. Can't recommend this team enough. Thank you for another job well done!

The guy who took down our massive trees did it piece by piece with such precision--it was honestly amazing to watch. They also managed to grind down a stump that was in a really tricky spot, right up against and partially under my fence, and they did it without causing any damage. The whole crew was friendly, respectful, and left everything spotless when they were done. I'm so glad we chose them and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

Taking one star off. I just went through the renewal process with A&M which soured my experience…read moreand ended up ending our relationship. Despite my contract from last year citing an expectation for a 2% annual increase, I got a ~25% rate hike. The woman I worked with was not kind and not willing to help me understand where this came from. I ended up finding the owners email and was able to reach out to them to try to learn more and find a more reasonable solution, but even going over their new math, it still didn't make sense, and still had me over 20% higher than last year for the same work. They cited that I was charged incorrect last season (despite having their invoices with exact man-hour times spent and their own provided labor rate). Additionally, the new contract (which I did not sign) created new clauses in the fineprint to do price hikes in subsequent years without needing a reason. So disappointed, but I'm not comfortable going into contract with a company that doesn't honor their own contracts, hoping you won't notice.

They gave me a quote that made sense and were easy to get in touch with. They gave me lots of pricing options depending on how I wanted various aspects of work handled, which was amazing. They did 5 trees for us. Some were removals and some were trims. I watched the whole process and it was damn impressive. The Truxton's move with the confidence and precision of years of experience. Their fees were very reasonable. I'm not joking when I say that although they weren't the cheapest, they were about $1,500 cheaper than the highest quote I got. So it's definitely worth it to get multiple quotes so you can make an informed decision. We were VERY happy with the job they did. I don't live in Jersey anymore, but I can definitely recommend friends and family in Cumberland County to use the Truxtons for tree trimming and removal.

Somewhere in the history of the house my wife and I purchased, someone who fancied themselves a…read morelandscaper owned the property. The people we purchased the house from were clearly not landscapers, and neither are we. Needless to say, our backyard was crowded with plants and ornamental trees that we did not want. I couldn't actually get to my backyard's water hookup without climbing through a small jungle and getting scratched & dirty in the process. We began looking for a landscaper to essentially do a lot of tidying up and removal, to transform our yard into something not embarrassing. After a couple of duds (one landscaper who never submitted a promised quote actually argued with us over some of the things we wanted removed because they were "expensive"... who cares, they were still an eyesore), my wife found Highland Landscaping. Bill came out immediately to inspect the yard and we explained what we wanted: 1) Removal of an ornamental tree that was growing sideways into our back deck. 2) Conversion of a covered grove containing rhododendrons and other overgrown crap into a gravel/stone-covered seating area for some Adirondack chairs and a fire pit we already owned. 3) Removal and extensive pruning of other overgrown plants while keeping some of the nice stuff. 4) Fresh mulching in all beds. 5) Weed removal and removal of poison ivy that was growing on our side yard. We told Bill we just wanted everything to look a lot nicer, and we would trust his vision. He gave us his ideas, and promised us it would look "awesome" when he was through with it. He gave us a very reasonable quote and was able to start after a few weeks. His crew worked diligently and was extremely friendly and accommodating. Our backyard looks amazing now. "Awesome" doesn't even begin to cover it. He was able to accomplish everything we wanted for this project. No more overgrowth, no more sideways trees ruining our newly-painted deck, and now we have a beautiful stone-covered outdoor seating area to enjoy with our guests. They even came in under budget on the quote. Most importantly, our yard is not an embarrassment anymore. HIGHLY recommended for all your landscaping needs.
