Chef Fabio was born in Palermo Sicily and really delivers on quality and taste. We ordered the buffalo chicken pizza and garlic knots. The pizza was huge with big chunks of white meat chicken. It was delicious but for some reason it was also really greasy. I'm not sure if it was from the melted cheese or the sauce but I don't like my pizza greasy. I will stick with the more traditional toppings on future visits. This is my opinion...the others loved it and would order it again. The garlic knots were exceptionally good. She prefers a plain cheese and the rest of us love our pepperoni. We get a large antipasto and cannolis on the side. We never finish everything because the large is a really big pie. Pizza swam in grease. It was an orange wheel and floppy. The taste is ok but having to dab each slice with a paper towel is ridiculous. Wings were soggy and barely cooked and the sauce was meh (which they came swimming in). The cannolis were also meh (pretty sure they are bought elsewhere but if not they should say they are). I expected more with all the good reviews. As with most things in this town I am chalking it up to St Cloud residents never leaving and thinking their local stuff is all there is in the world. The pricing is outlandish as well. And a kicker is they don't give you blue cheese (or ranch for you heathens) for free. They have the gall to charge .50$ for a side of anything on too of the obnoxious pricing. At least I got a show when I pulled up and there was two dudes and a lady smoking cigarettes and passing around dime bags out front. Drive the extra few miles to Marco Polos (not Marco's, that is trash) and get a better (albeit slightly too salt but better) product. Those garlic knots were phenomenal! Instead of ordering from a generic pizza spot, we decided to support the local businesses in the area and came here. I opted for. Small white pizza as my SO grabbed a small pepperoni and onion pie. The baked ziti his aunt ordered was really flavorful. I thoroughly enjoyed the sweet and robust flavors in the sauce. It's a small and casual pizzeria with great prices and friendly service. We took a carbonara pasta to go which I ate the next day and was completely enlightened. I think it's certainly the best pizza in St. Cloud and I am so happy I found this spot after having been to this area multiple times. Its directly on 192 so it's accesible. The pizza here is pretty good. The people are really nice and courteous. They have a small seating area and good prices. It appeared to be clean. I have not tried the entrees but there were a lot of people picking up food while I was waiting for my pie. I don't go here to often to give a full review but at a recent family gathering we had ordered 3 full pizzas. All looked good (cheese, meat lovers, veggie & pepperoni). I had 1 huge slice of meat lovers, although it was good - it was greasy! My aunt orders from here all the time and claims it's great. We just don't live close to it and am not in there delivery window. Price for 3 LARGE pizzas was $54. The eating space seemed dirty, The pizza itself was mediocre unfortunately, with a soggy crust. It felt very overly oily, yes, even for pizza. Unfortunately, we here at Big Boy Dining Out rate on the food only. One thing you need to know if you are going to venture forth on a whim to try this restaurant, you need to know the place is filthy. To give you an idea, think back to the old days when WaWa and its progeny did not exist, when getting gas meant driving into a gas station where a guy came out pumped your gas, cleaned your windshield, checked your oil, and gas was under $1.00 a gallon. There would be a beefy guy inside the station chomping on a cigar and he was invariably named Al, Dutch, Duke, Lou, or Monty. The soda was out of a vending machine that would remove two fingers above the knuckle if you didn't pull the bottle - that's right, a bottle - out in just the perfect dispensing order. The snacks were twofold a pack of Tom's Rye-Chee or Tom's Peanut Butter. Two for a quarter. Finally, you would go into the bathroom and there would be a pink disc at the bottom of the urinal. It had such an overwhelming smell mainly to shock your nostrils so you could not smell the other odors created by missed trajectories of the last guy to come in. Anyway, what does all this have to do with A Touch Of Basil? Believe it or not, this has more to do with what is memorable in the restaurant than the food. Well, this nostalgic dive inside a crumbling ancient strip mall, wedged between the welfare office and the weave joint, sits Fabio's slice of pizza. It's not the worst I have ever had but it certainly is not the best. The dough is acceptable and hey, did I mention the owner is one of the nicest people you ever want to meet? After having a bad experience at another local Italian restaurant a few days ago, we were still craving some good pasta, but were worried we may be disappointed again. With the first bite from Touch of Basil we knew we made the right choice!! The eggplant parm is absolutely delicious. It tasted fresh, well prepared, and had a great portion of eggplant (wasn't just a bunch of noodles). My husband ordered the fettuccine, which he loved. We also got a few slices of pizza to try!
