When I insisted I had talked to someone and I expected them to honor the phone call, that person came and let me exchange my plant. Poor training or poor customer service, either way not a pleasant experience.

Juan and his crew are like a delightful surprise. The backyard makeover was fast, much less than I…read morehad anticipated, and flexible when I changed my mind about things. We had some pretty major landscaping done on our .25ac home in Kings Beach and I can't say enough about how pleased I am with the result. Juan came out and looked around, gave me a scope to fit my budget, and within a few weeks I had a swoon-worthy backyard space. They were nearly $10k less than the next lowest bid we received. ALM laid new sod, helped me build a retaining wall, planted 11 trees and a lot of bushes and smaller plants, and completely irrigated the whole space. Since then, when I text for advice or help, an army of men randomly show up with leaf blowers and shovels to do my bidding. I feel like a queen, and I'm all for it. I've recommended ALM to several friends and family members, and everyone has been bowled over by the result and value!

We've had nothing but great experiences with Juan and his crew…read more Juan and his team completely transformed our yard in Kings Beach. What was once a dusty, pine needle-covered mess is now a beautiful outdoor living space. Juan gave us great advice on the plants and trees that thrive in our North Tahoe climate. Everything Affordable Landscape planted is doing great! They even added a small grass area for our kids and set up the irrigation perfectly. They also created decomposed granite paths, making our yard both beautiful and functional. Juan is super responsive, and when he shows up with his crew of 10+ workers, they accomplish more in an hour than I could in a week. We chose Affordable Landscape based on glowing recommendations from our neighbors in Kings Beach and friends in Incline. Juan has earned a reputation for delivering top-notch work at fair prices. Note on Negative Reviews: Some negative reviews from 2018 mention a person named "Jose." These reviews must be for a different company because Juan is the owner now.

One called back and left a message they had availability then they disappeared and two others never replied. Alex at Old Town Landscape got back to me the day after I called and setup a date for an estimate. Alex gave me an estimate two days later on the gravel and drain and let me know he could start the following week. Alex's quote (he works time & material) was reasonable so we hired him. Alex showed up as scheduled and was on time. I had to go out of town and requested Alex send me pictures or videos as the work progressed. Alex in-fact sent me pictures and videos as I had asked and updates via text. Alex let me know he was running in to large boulders while installing the drain which would raise the price (hours worked). I already knew large granite rocks and boulders might be an issue so I approved the additional cost. The rocks & boulders were definitely no joke when I returned and saw them. Alex finished the job in a timely manner, left the job site neat and clean and communicated throughout the job. Alex later gave me an estimate for the patio which ended up being outside of my budget. I truly couldn't ask for much better. Alex clearly demonstrated he understands the importance of communication at all stages of the process. I highly recommend Alex and Old Town Landscape.
