Fabulous empanadas, which went perfectly with some Wooden Robot beer. We got the vegetarian ones, which were really tasty.

These folks may not give you forks, but they know what they're doing! Service has always been friendly and helpful, despite how busy the line can get. The cubanos are amazing - I've gotten the original and also the BBQuban. The OG is super solid, but OMG that BBQ one is just delectable and a great texture. Trust me. Try it. They also have the best yucca fries I've probably ever had. My issue with most yucca fries is that the texture tends to be pretty tough, but these are so soft inside - like they mashed the yucca first and then formed the fries. I don't know what magic they use, but they're incredible, and you must get some. We also got a churro filled with dulce de leche, and it came out nice and hot with lots of cinnamon sugar coating. I didn't love the dulce de leche filling for some reason - maybe I got spoiled by spending time in Argentina - so next time I'll likely go for the regular churro.

Not only was every order right, cooked fresh and hot, but they brought all orders into our space so our guests didn't have to wait outside for their order. Our guests raved about the food and people are still thanking us for introducing the truck to them! They were very professional and prompt. I'd hire them again in a heartbeat for an event.

Stopped in for lunch and am so glad I did. First, Karina is a sweetheart, and works hard to run La…read moreDolcekca, a place she clearly loves and is incredibly passionate about. There are baked goods, desserts, and brunch and sandwich options, several of which have Dominican or other Latino roots. I had the chimi sandwich, which was delicious. A chimi is a Dominican street food, served almost like a burger, served with shredded cabbage in a mayoketchup sauce. La Dolcekca's chimi is a sandwich, and a dang good one at that. Absolutely delicious, and a sizable portion at that, served with a side of French fries. I also had a jugo de chinola (maracuya for most Latinos; passionfruit juice for non-Spanish speakers). Aside from the food being delicious, this place is adorable. This is clearly a business that someone really cares about. The decorations are super cute and feminine, with florals and several Parisian references. Bathroom is clean and tidy, as is the rest of the business. I am so glad I finally got to stop by and support this woman-owned, Latino-owned establishment. I am thoroughly looking forward to coming back soon!

Her two daughters are as determined and driven as she is as well as amazing chefs. I would go here religiously for lunch over the last year and I also brought all my coworkers anytime It was my turn to pick where we ate for lunch. It's tucked away and you probably wouldn't see it unless you were going there purposely. Once you get in, it's a very eclectic, antique, floral and colorful it's just a happy feeling when you walk into this bakery. All the different plates and tea cups that they have on the back counter behind the register are so cute. ALL the food from desserts to lunch to taking a BOX of empanadas for dinner... Everything is delicious. Nothing lacks flavor. I always come for the flan because it's the perfect texture. I could eat a whole pan. The beef empanadas go quickly so call in early if you wanna get an order in for lunch. I'm still working my way through all of the desserts so I recommend going on an empty stomach because you have lots of options to choose from. Give the drink of the month a try too!

We ordered the empanadas, tequeños and the sugar cane lemonade (papelon con limon) and we absolutely loved it! Los Chamos is still on South Blvd. with its own free parking lot. Staff is still fully bilingual and super friendly. Common areas are spacious and clean. There is still no outside seating. I can't wait to come back and try more menu items.

Unique compared to some of the more general Latin options, as they really do focus on Venezuelan fare. Parking and decor a plus! All of the appetizers were amazing--we got everything except the tacos. The trio and flight options are truly the way to go here, the flavors are all different and you really need to try them all! The chimichurri here is probably my favorite of all time. The rich smoky flavor is so deep and satisfying, I've never had one so robust. I wish I had done an entree that was smothered in it!!! Next time, for sure. Don't pass on desert. The flan is just right and I appreciated the molasses flavor in the syrup, although my dining partner wished for some lime zest to lighten the dish--preferences can differ!

Started off with the sopa de pollo, and yeah... that's the kind of soup that doesn't just warm you up--it resets your whole mood. Rich, comforting, and tasted like it's been simmering with purpose all day. Then came the masa de puerco... crispy, juicy, and seasoned the way it should be. No shortcuts, no playing around--just straight-up authentic flavor. You can tell they respect the roots here. The vibe? Clean, welcoming, no frills--just letting the food do the talking. Now... full transparency--I'm very picky with Cuban food. When you grow up on homemade, you carry that standard forever. And let's be real... nothing--and I mean nothing--touches my mom's cooking. But Azucar? They earned their respect. Solid spot when you need that Cuban fix in this area.

I ordered a couple variations of Mojitos and they were outstanding! The waitress also told me that they have a sangria special and a wine special day. I have spent quite a bit of time in the Tampa area, which has a very large Cuban population so I am very familiar with Cuban food and the way it's supposed to be. Well, let me tell you, this place doesn't disappoint! I haven't had Picadio in years so I ordered that and it was delicious! Their Ropa Vieja is very authentic as well. What's really amazing is that they have a lunch menu that they serve until 3 PM. The prices are great especially for lunch! The atmosphere feels authentic with giant murals, old photos and a huge Cuban Flag painted on looks to be driftwood. The place also has an authentic Cabana feel to it. Overall, I consider this the best Cuban restaurant in the entire Charlotte Metro Area! Cheers!
