There is no sign as of this date. The facade is a black, between The Coral Tree Cafe and Anthropologie. Look for the address! 219 This place is busy, but everyone is very friendly with smiles. There is a small sitting area in front and a high top glass round table by the front desk with high bar chairs, where I sat. My friend was getting a Keratin Treatment which took 3 hours. I observed and watched and noticed all the hair stylists are very professional and kind to their clients. Most clients were there for at least 1.5 hours or more. There is cucumber water and cookies and coffee for all. For the 3 hours while I was there, everything went smoothly, despite the new opening of the new location 2 days ago. There are two changing rooms in the back and a nice clean bathroom. I met Lucy, one of the owners who is very kind and is a great colorist for my friend.My friend's blond hair is gorgeous! Muslim clients, rejoice!! At Tramp has this backroom where they do eyebrows and it's just big enough to have your hair done in it. On Sundays is the only day they can accommodate true halal privacy though so keep that in mind when booking. My stylist is Eva (pronounced eh-vuh). I actually followed her here from Umberto and she's the best. I would've been devastated if I couldn't see her anymore for halal reasons but she was very accommodating! And her work is amazing. Everyone who sees my hair asks for my stylist. And the hair is still healthy. I'm a natural dark brunette but I always get a lot of blonde highlights and my hair is still really healthy. I got my hair done by BENJI and I love it! He took his time when transforming my long, dark hair into a balayage bob. I showed him a photo of how I wanted my hair and he personalized it into a look that flattered my skin tone and face shape. Receiving a haircut from Ramses III is an experience. First off everyone knows how difficult it can be when getting a great styling. Not with Ramses. This man has more talent than any other individual I've met. He is always trying to help you as an individual, rather than just trying to give you a "look". I had just come from an awful coloring experience at Essensuals London, where after two attempted, my hair was still ginger instead blonde. I didn't want to give that stylist another chance at the risk of ruining my hair completely, so took to yelp in search of someone to save my hair. Then I stumbled upon Erin at A.T. Tramp. She was extremely calming and gave me two options: go really blonde, or dye my hair brown and start again. I chose the latter option, and then added highlights and I couldn't be happier with my experience there. Erin is so talented at what she does, my hair is night and day from before I entered the salon and Erin has certainly earned herself a loyal customer! DO NOT GET EXTENSIONS HERE! I spent a pretty penny on my hair at this salon and I cannot say it was money well spent. I got color, extensions, and cut. The color came out great but everything else was a disappointment. Twenty-three extensions fell off in the first month and a half so I went back and had them reapplied. They graciously did it for free but then they started falling out all over again. I've had extensions before but never have I had them fall out by the bulk. Also, they were attached too heavy for the amount of hair segmented for each bunch. This is not a good thing ladies! This is how your own hair starts to fall off in clumps. read more

I've been negligent, it's been months since I visited the salon and I've been meaning to write a glowing review of Sally and my experience at A.T. Tramp. I went on the suggestion of Kat S., who always has great hair! I know she sets the bar pretty high so I knew I'd be in good hands. Little did I know I'd be set up with Sally who is the sweetest little lady with shears. Since I was donating my hair, she made two ponytails to maximize on length, cut off the required 8 inches and began to shape. She took her time and pretty much just trimmed and shaped until my hair was close to dry. As a fellow mother with kids, she knew the value of an easy to maintain haircut and that's exactly what she gave me. I walked out of the salon completely transformed! I loved my new short sassy do. I wish I had taken the before and after shot. Even to this day, I can pretty much wash and go if I needed to. If you're going short, go with Sally, that girl. read more

After losing my long-term stylist in my divorce (no joke!), a friend of mine referred me to Erin. My thick, nappy, broomstick looking locks have and always will be tamed by Ramses. I can't imagine anyone else maintaining this mane. Micah! Hands down the best colorist I have ever encountered! I work with a gal who's blonde locks always look so amazing, so I asked who she sees. She directed me to Micah! And now I have the most amazing blonde color! I've been trying to find someone who does something else besides "highlights" as I always feel those look like they are straight out of the 1980's! Not a bad decade, but I already went through that for hair and I want to be more modern! Enter Micah! She suggested I do balyage. I had never heard of this for covering up the roots and thought it was only for lightening the ends of hair. Nope! She painted the color straight on my roots after lightening it up first. An overdue review coming in for Janelle and Ramses! A month ago - The first time around my hair was so damaged from this loser who ruined my hair with over processing and a Brazilian blowout gone wrong.... Ramses couldn't do much to salvage the length and damage. And Janelle was worried to damage my hair more by coloring it so she suggested to soak my hair in coconut oil a few times a week...... Done! I made a second appointment because we just had to get it right - So we chopped it off (to my chin!) and instead of ombré we did some highlights. My hair looks healthy and natural now! It took two appointments to get it right but now I get compliments on my hair everyday and I truly feel like the year of bad hair is behind me and I can walk down Rodeo Drive like a millionaire. My only advice is if you are new to the salon go in for a consultation so you don't have to be let down (like me) and find out how damaged your hair actually is!... Amazing salon next to the place I work at. I got a hair cut and blow dry by Rebekah, the whole experience was just very pleasant comfortable and high end. From the lady who washed my hair with a full head massage that was just unbelievably wonderful to the hair stylist herself. They offered me tea and water, I got the best blowout ever. This review is not for AT Tramp salon, but for the stylist Ramses. First off, I am a sweet person and I almost never would write a negative review because even if someone makes me feel bad, I don't like to return the sentiment, but this experience was upsetting for me and I wanted to share. I believe Ramses is a very talented hairdresser on a technical level and he is very passionate, he cares very much about his craft. However, I feel that his passion might be to a fault to his professionalism. Back-story: I had been growing my hair long for four years and had been really anticipating a totally new hairstyle. Since living in LA for years I have had a handful of mediocre haircuts and really wanted to try someone amazing. So I had been stocking some 10 different hairstylists in LA and decided I really wanted to get a haircut from him, since all his reviews are so glowing and everyone says he is basically a hair wizard. I was so very excited... This is what happened to me: I showed up a half hour late for my apt after calling the salon and hour ahead and asking them if it was ok. They said no problem since I was his only apt of the day. So I got there and kindly apologized and I showed him a picture of what I wanted, which involved cutting off some 5" of hair. He said he really liked the hair ref for me and that he would give me the absolute best haircut. I was super stoked, however, when he was finished I was disappointed with my haircut. I also felt really rushed through the whole apt. I want to clarify that it is not a review for the quality of my haircut, technically speaking it is not a bad haircut (meaning not choppy or anything like that). It just isn't what I had wanted. I felt that it was a little top heavy and a little dated for me. What made me so upset more than the haircut was the way I was treated afterward... When he asked me at the end if I loved it, I kind of shrugged my shoulders a little, cause I felt bad telling him that I was unhappy with it... but his reaction was very inappropriate. He was really offended and started to berate me with remarks that were a little humiliating. First he scolded me for being late and then he told me that if I was an unhappy person inside he can't fix me because he is not a therapist (which is so wrong on so many levels and not even relevant). Then told me to just leave and that I didn't have to pay for the haircut if I would agree not to ever come back to him again. He said all the celebrities and models love him and that is the most professional person, which is very ironic considering the situation. Meanwhile many other clients and hairdressers where watching this whole interaction with empathy on my behalf. It was very awkward, unprofessional, and unkind to put me in that position. I felt really embarrassed on top of being disappointed. What would have been really appropriate in my opinion is if he had been kind and understanding and patient with me and sat me down and asked me to explain what I didn't like about the cut and nicely offer up some advice as to how we could fix it. I had to apologize to him for not immediately loving the haircut just to get him to calm down, which is really not the way the situation should have been. In the end, of course I paid for my haircut and shook his hand because although I wanted to express these things to him, I am a polite person and I didn't want to exacerbate the whole scenario and make it worse. I just dashed out of the salon and sat in my car and cried. In short: I don't know if I got him on a bad day. I really wish it had gone differently. I think if you are not picky person and you totally let him do whatever he wants with your hair... I am sure you may really love your haircut like all these other people on yelp and walk out feeling really glamorous, which is how everyone wants to feel after leaving a salon... But if you are particular about your hair and if you don't love the haircut you receive, you may have to just keep your opinions to yourself or seek a different hairdresser entirely. read more

After scouring Yelp and cross referencing my results with other websites, I chose Benji at A.T. Tramp because 1) I saw that he specialized in color and received decent reviews, and 2) the salon was located merely blocks from my new apartment. Upon my first visit to the salon in June, I was thrilled to have my ridiculously high standards nearly met (points deducted for not serving wine/champagne during service): Aside from doing an excellent job, Benji and I could not stop talking. I felt like I'd known him for years! What's more, I observed that a few customers with small dogs in tow and, upon informing him that I would have loved to have brought mine, was told by Benji that Lucy could accompany me next time. I had my second appointment last Thursday night at 6:30pm. Nothing major was scheduled, just a simple single process. At 6:32pm, I received a call from the receptionist, "Hi ma'am, Benji wanted me to call to make sure you were still coming." Huh? Was this chick for real? I informed her that I was just around the corner. I mean, I get running 15-20 minutes late but, for god's sake, since when did 2-minutes past set off any red flags? Especially in LA? After all, I was told that "Thursday's are our late days, so a 6:30 appointment is perfectly feasible." When I walked in, the receptionist was shocked to see that I had my dog with me. She said that only service animals were allowed. While I totally understood, recall that Benji told me I could "bring my pup next time." After informing her of that tidbit, she begrudgingly let it slide. "Just remember that (only service animals allowed) for next time, ok?" When Benji came to fetch me for my appointment, he did not seem to recognize me. Not that he absolutely should have, or that I'm so unforgettable, but still! We spent hours together upon my last visit. I guess he wasn't the only one; the receptionist asked if this was my first appointment at the salon. During the color application, Benji was radio silent and made no attempt at conversing. He seemed hurried and very preoccupied; certainly not the same, jovial person I had interacted with just a month prior. I couldn't help but feel like I was a burden. Before he left me alone to color process for 35 minutes, he randomly perked up and offered me magazines and a beverage. But that was the last I saw of him; 35-minutes later, his assistant came to wash my hair and, when she was done, I was left to my own devices, not sure whether to sit and wait for Benji in his styling chair, or...? Wet hair and all, I approached the receptionist, who then informed me that "Benji sent me a text. He left." REALLY?? What kind of stylist leaves before their client?
