I used to stop in here with my family on Friday nights growing up, after walking around 'food truck alley' on Chatsworth...the cupcakes were to die for I remembered Fast forward to this year - I happened to be in the area the day of my mom's birthday dinner and figured I should stop in to get some yummy treats. The women in this shop are the sweetest, kindest, and most helpful. I walked in a few minutes before closing and they reassured me that they had so many cupcakes that just baked and all they needed to do was frost them - i ultimately got a dozen cupcakes - let them pick the best flavors and WOW. they even wrote a really cute happy birthday message on a fondant piece and stuck it on one of the cupcakes. When we had them later that night - I kid you not every single person asked me where they were from. The depth of flavors in each cupcake makes you yearn for the next bite. The shop is very cute - on the corner with tons of street parking accessible. There are display cakes that truly look out of this world and books of cakes to look through if you wanted to order. There were a couple cakes in the display case too, ready to buy! What a welcoming environment and friendly staff. For a dozen cupcakes it was about $54 - not bad considering the price of the ingredients are sky high, but let me be the first to tell you - worth every single penny. My sister was having a baby shower a couple months ago she decided to order a cake here we got a two tiered cake with a strawberry filling with a edible frosting with the design of her choice. The two tier cake was $300 which seemed like a lot for a cake at a cupcake place but I guess that's just the price for it. We wanted fake flowers put on the cake so a couple days before the baby shower. The flowers were dropped off. I was told that the cake would be ready at 11 on the day of the baby shower got to the location at 11:30 and they handed me a plain cake with no flowers. Try not to panic I asked them where the flowers were. They seemed confused and told me they didn't have any a few seconds later the manager came out and apologized and then 20 minutes later they brought me the cake with the flowers. My issue with this is I spent $300 on a cake that wasn't even ready even when a little bit later than the arrival time hoping that it would be ready !! The cake tasted OK it was more honestly probably will never get a cake from here again. They need to work on their communication skills with their staff to let them know that when things are getting dropped off for the cakes that everything is in order. They seem very unorganized. The girls were very nice and I know they did their best but my complaint has to be to the fact that there were no flowers on the cake and the cake was not ready. When it was supposed to be and months before the baby shower we had a consultation speaking about everything about the cake and it was written that we wanted to fake flowers on the cake. So the fact that none of those were reviewed prior to picking up the cake seems weird. Seems like a waste of time if you're not gonna use the notes. A cake place that just didn't feel like they wanted to sell me a cake... When ordering my wife's birthday cake over the phone it was a frustrating experience. The lady taking my order was very nice, but kept putting me on hold and forgetting where we were at in the order. It literally took 15 minutes to order a $60 six inch cake. I was emailed an invoice the same night and realized the order was the wrong flavor. I sent a return email with the correct order and said I would pay upon confirmation that it was changed. I didn't hear anything and I called the bakery to confirm the change on Friday. I was told no changes could be made after Wednesday for a Sunday pick up. They also said they didn't receive my email and had no record of it. I canceled my order and then received a cancellation invoice immediately to the email that they said they didn't have. lol. I would give zero reviews if I could. Walked in with my friend, and started looking at the dessert options. My friend asked what the macaron flavors were and with zero care or facial expression, employee Olivia said the names are written in front of the macarons. We let it go, I've worked in customer service before - when someone would ask what is inside a salad - I don't defer them to the menu in front of them. I'll tell them what's in the salad. Then I asked Olivia what's inside the pink strawberry cake pop. I don't know what pink strawberry is for them - is it vanilla with strawberry, or chocolate? I don't know. Her response with very clear attitude was "pink strawberry cake. That's what the meaning of a cake pop is." So I looked at my friend and said "wow she has attitude" and then told Olivia nevermind I don't want anything anymore and walked out. My friend then ate the macaron she ordered and said it tasted very old. Bad customer service and old macarons too. I tried their chocolate cake about 10 years ago and it was all I could think about until I was able to recently visit them again. This place is amazing! I come here all the time for cupcakes or other deserts and they always come out good. I would recommend the brownie berry cup or the strawberry cheesecake cupcake. My little sister always gets the macrons here and she loves the variety of flavors as well as their quality. The staff here is very nice. They've been respectful and polite every time I visit. The shop itself is very pretty and well decorated/ maintained. While I've never ordered anything custom from this shop, based off just their Instagram posts I would recommend trying them out for any cake needs. After passing by it and falling in love with the pink door outside, I knew if I ever had an event that would require a custom cake this was the place to order it from. However, I was not please with the result of our cake. The taste was delicious, I can not lie, it had just the right amount of sweetness and just delicious overall. The design, though, was not what I expected. My first upon picking up my cake was- is this it. It somewhat resembles the picture of the wake I submitted. It had the key designs. I've always come to this shop for their cupcakes and macaroons and have never been disappointed, so I had expected their cake to be just as great but unfortunately I will not be returning because of my experience. I was in need of a birthday cake within a week and had asked if it was too short of notice to please let me know and I would go buy a cake from the store. I was aware that I was giving short notice and that most likely it wouldn't be enough time, but they assured me it was not a problem. When giving them the theme of the cake and leaving them a toy figure to add onto the cake, they said the figurine was the perfect size. I let them have free reign of the style of cake and to design it how they see fit with the time that was given. I had sent a couple of pictures so they had an idea of what I wanted. When picking up the cake, they said that they had to super glue the figurine to the cake because it was too big. Not once did they call me asking if I had a different figurine to use. Maybe there might not have been enough time to switch out the figurine, but I would have at least appreciated a phone call asking if it is okay to super glue the figurine. It was super glued to two wooden sticks and almost impossible to remove the toy from the wood without damaging it. They left no room to put any candles on the cake and anywhere that we could have placed candles, would have burned the figurine. Not to mention some of the super glue was on top of the cake. The second issue we had was the type of black fondant they used. It stained our hands black. We could not simply cut the cake without the dye getting everywhere. It also turned everyone's teeth and lips black as well. The cake itself was very dry and had incredibly multiple thick layers of icing in the middle that made it too sweet. I would have rather spent $10 on a bigger and better cake from the super market than $100 with tip on a cake that was inedible. Very disappointed and will not be coming back. Again, I understand that I was giving short notice, but I would have rather had them agree saying that, than to assure me otherwise and do this poorly. read more

Customer service is not good. They cannot admit they made a mistake on my birthday cake. My husband emailed specifically what he wanted and was asked what design. He referred to the design of a different flavored cake and they completely ignored his request for a chocolate cake with only the design of the pink velvet cake. He emailed them that he made a typo of my name on the online cake order and they read that email and made the change, but could not bother to confirm the specifics of the cake being chocolate and NOT pink velvet. Also, the name plate was supposed to include the age like in the design he sent and it did not. This place had sentimental value for us as we got our wedding cake and 1st year old daughter's cake from previous owner. Recently placed an order and did not have a good experience. Sad that they do not care about making the order how the customer wants it, but apparently being right and stressing that the specifics were not on the online order. They didn't even say sorry for the confusion, it was all about we are right, you are wrong, it was your mistake. Other family members had a bad customer service experience and we didn't want to believe it. I guess they were right. We will not be ordering from here again or recommending it. I've been coming to this cupcake shop for several years, since the previous owners were in business. New owners are awesome as well. I have brought these cupcakes up the Central Coast all the way through the high desert. They become a fan favorite. Like anything of value, there is a price to pay for these but it's so worth it. As you can see from the photo, there's several different flavors available, and their refrigerated items to die for. Expect to pay about 36 bucks per dozen, but it's so worth it. It's also important to note, they do have a rewards and loyalty program that can rack up pretty quickly.
