The owners and administrators run this center like it is any old business, they do not appear to have any real interest in creating a nurturing environment that allows kids to thrive. Their sole focus is keeping the classrooms full. This disconnect is hard to escape. As just one example, a number of families pulled their kids out at the same time in the fall of 2022 (at least 6, including ours), and I don't believe they asked a single family why they chose to leave. They definitely did not ask us. As long as they have a wait list to pull from, it does not seem to matter whether or how they could serve their kids or staff better. It's truly disheartening. That said, we are forever grateful for some wonderful teachers who are trying their best to do right by the kids. This, despite a lack of internal support that was so bad that many of them vocalized their frustration to parents. It only seemed to be getting worse the longer we were there. If you can find care elsewhere, do it.

Every week, the classroom teacher provides us with a curriculum for the next week. I love to see how they make age appropriate lessons and integrate that with play-based learning. He has such a great time when he's at school and I think it has been really great for his development

Our 2 year old son went here for the shortest period of time, he was so excited to go to school and get the chance to socialize and was heartbroken to have to stop, but his safety was at risk daily and we had to make the decision to pull him from the school. This school claims to employ strict food allergy procedures to avoid any incidences like ours, however our son suffered anaphylactic reactions at this school that landed him in the ER twice. He was supposedly given his "red placemat with his photo and his allergies listed on it", but then was given food he was explicitly allergic to (the first time was scrambled eggs, the second was milk). The first time it happened, they called us to say he wasn't acting like himself after breakfast and had ABSOLUTELY NO recognition that it could have been an allergic reaction. I had to ask what he ate and remind them he was allergic to eggs before they acted. We had to come in and give him his epi pen, then take him to the ER because his lips were blue and he was covered in a full body rash when we got there. They had no idea. We took some time off from the school, the regional director reached out to us insisting that we meet with her to discuss the situation, and we were reassured that it would NEVER happen again. Against our better judgement, we decided to bring him back because he loved playing with his classmates and we didn't want to take that from him. Only about a month after returning to the school, they did it again. They gave him milk in his cereal, he threw up and immediately developed a rash. The school administrator called me and said "well, we have a little emergency (laughs) well...I wouldn't really call it an emergency haha!". I asked if he threw up and she said yes, so I told her it was an emergency and he was once again experiencing anaphylaxis at the hands of this school. They gave us no details of how it happened. Wouldn't tell us how it could have happened with their "strict procedures" in place or even how much he had consumed because it was "an ongoing investigation". I told them we would absolutely not be coming back, they had harmed my child for the last time. No one ever reached out to us to apologize or follow up. They never paid our ER bills, and when they "prorated" our tuition we actually ended up owing them more and they just said "that's how the system works". Your allergy children are not safe at this school, do not waste your time and money putting your child at risk here

I drove by Itsy Bitsy a couple weeks before they opened, and I'm glad I saw them. I followed them…read moreon Instagram immediately because what they offer is REALLY useful--an indoor play space and co-working space. But they go beyond just the standard indoor playground; they offer care (play care, in their terminology) so your children are well cared for whilst you bring home the bacon. Their "playmakers" (it's whimsical; I love it) engage in fun and meaningful play and I love the idea that I could be nearby when my daughter is here but actually get work done. Because I was following their social media, I saw that Little Giggles Speech Therapy was holding a class called First Signs here, which is what has brought me to Itsy Bitsy for now. Itsy Bitsy's facilities are really nice and very clean. When you enter, you walk into the cafe area. There's a limited menu but for coffee drinkers you'll probably find something here! There are a few tables as well. To the right of the door is the co-working space with several desks ready for you to roll up your sleeves and get to work. On the left side of the building is the children's play space, and I think it's a smart way to design the place--it helps keep the distraction down. I'm not sure what the youngest age limit is for play care here. I met a woman who's purchased a membership here and her son is about seven months old; mine is only about four so she may be too little for the place, still. But I'm going to ask when I'm back next week for the signing class, because this is a great concept and I think it would be incredibly useful to be able to come here on my remote workdays and the rates are very reasonable. This business also offers open play times and you can rent for events, so it will be a place for me to keep in mind for birthday parties--though parking seems to be street only, and though at least some of the side streets around here don't appear to require a permit the parking is still limited. I'm just loving the concept of this business and really hope to use it more fully soon, and to see the community that builds here.

It's also very spacious - there's a large play area, a cafe in front where we were able to put food to adults, and a back room for the kids to eat lunch and have cake. The owner was great to work with.
