Our daughter just spent the past couple of months in the infant room and I have nothing but positive things to say about her teachers. In addition to their love and care, they provided her with enriching activities to promote her cognitive, social, and motor development. My husband and I are both teachers, so we said goodbye for the summer. On her last day, we were both so touched by the kinds words her teachers shared with us. From the first time we toured the facility last summer, Ceci made our family feel welcomed at KindCare. On the first day we dropped our daughter off, Lupe made us feel like she was safe and in good hands. Brielle could always get a smile from our daughter and made sure to share all of her accomplishments with us. Brielle also said her laughter would sometimes wake up the other babies... so sorry about that! I always appreciated how Brielle and Lupe always took the time at pick up to describe our daughters day. They would also share observations and things we could look out for at home. Tamera and Sarah rounded out the team in the infant room and contributed the positive environment. read more

My son has been here since February & has shown so much improvement in a lot ! Ms.Elsa, Ms.Delphine & Yesenia all hold a special place in my heart. They all show that they truly love being a village to all the children. Some months ago I wouldn't have given 5 starts , I was really focus on finding a different daycare but since Ms.Nikki has became director I truly feel more welcome & warming energy. Since starting my 2 year old at KinderCare in Evanston he has grown so much. His speech and vocabulary have improved in the 2 year old room. They share photos and videos of activities that the children do throughout the day and update you on food naps and diaper changes constantly. His teachers love to see him and he loves to go and see them. "Ms. Naja and Ms. Tinana" are two of his favorite people. Ms. Nicole is the center director and is super engaging and caring about all of the kids there! She knows everyone's name and is always working hard to make sure everyone is happy! I first called to book a tour and see availability in other locations the call centre talked me there's availability for my sons age (23month) in Evanston location so I booked a tour and I showed up . When I didn't show up the manager or or the girl who was going to show me the place said how about we reschedule because we are short on staff . One of the staff called sick. Be aware that I booked the appointment one week ago and I drove to this place 30 minutes. So I begged her for her to show me the place for five minutes and she said okay so she started asking me what do you want to do for your son to gain or learn and I told her and she kept asking the same questions. Anyways when she showed me The place the teachers or the person who is responsible for kids were sitting on the floor playing with their phones and the kids were playing toys there was no learning there was no nothing and she said there's no availability for my kid in their school they're short on staff like even if the lady who called off sick came back there's no availability for my my son even though the Call Center said there is availability she said there's no availability no space in the classroom for him Anyway the play room was so limited barely couple of toys . I do not recommend this place if you want to please for daycare Okay but if you want to for learning it's not a learning place read more

Terrible. Run far away from this center. They "forgot" to feed an infant their bottle for 5+ hours TWICE.

We've been sending our kids here for 3 years, and wouldn't dream of going anywhere else. The team here truly about enriching the lives of the kids they serve, and I work for their rival company so I know what good practices look like. Whenever we've asked for something to be changed, they are quick to respond. But, most importantly, you can tell they are in it for the kids, and not themselves. This has become our primary backup daycare and we've sent our son here when our nannyshare got sick. Both boys enjoyed being there - there is a parking lot in the back and the teachers and center administration is very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the fact that they provided breakfast, snacks and lunch for my little guy. They also have a decent playground with trikes and an indoor play area, as well. This used to be a warehouse so the center is very spacious. Our little guys are 18 and 19 months old and enjoy the variety of songs, play, storytime, and letters learning that is provided here. read more

I love KinderCare but this particular location is kind of strange. The director here stole my resume off a job site but didn't hire me. I guess the fact that I would have had to walk 10 blocks to and from the Dempster purple line stop scared her. My daughter has been here for the past 17 months, and I have been impressed with the level of commitment and caring shown by the teachers here. I first enrolled her in this center when she was a little over 3 months old and she has thrived with the attention and caregiving she has received. They have a good teacher-child ratio and run a clean, well-organized operation. I was particularly impressed with their being able to work with us when we had feedback about certain things that were not working for us. read more

Not very happy with the center. For years there has been alot of scandals with the directors and money. The current Director Joi is a very cold not warm person. Being a childcare center I would think the environment would be happy and peaceful. I was referred by an associate. I went to visit and the environment was very negative. We moved to KinderCare this fall after feeling like our parenting style just didn't "jive" with our previous daycare (they were a touch too high-strung for us!). KinderCare Evanston has been the perfect match...we know our kids are taken care of in a fabulous, loving way, but the teachers don't freak out if they have a diaper rash or cold (typical kid things that sent the last place into a tizzy). All the staff are so respectful of our requests and offer solutions to things they see as well. We rarely leave at the end of the day without some wonderful tidbit on what our babes were up to while we were gone (He was a great eater! She slept like a champ! Tummy time success today!). Even when they have less than stellar news, they relay it so well (He loves playing with his friends....but they don't necessarily love that he pulls their hair...Opps!). In addition to the wonderful teachers, I have to say a shoutout to the anciliary staff as well. The cook knew my kids names after less than a month and frequently commented in passing in the hallway on how they liked X food. Even the cook feels a part of this little community banding together to keep my kids safe and healthy. LOVE it! Tessa, the new center director, has been there for less than a year and I can tell that she had made some GREAT changes in her short time. The staff seem happy and supported. The building seems well-kept. And the noise coming from the classrooms seems like happy, learning chipper. Needless to say, five stars. VERY happy. read more

I should've listened to the yelp and google reviews but nah my husband always tell me that others opinions might be different than mines but welp, once again I was right. I was referred to KinderCare through a co-worker. I was excited to start my son here after having him at a home daycare for about a year, I thought he would learn more and excel cognitively. Yeah he learned alright, the only thing he learned was how to use foul language (he comes home and says to me one day "f$cking n$gga"), how embarrassing right. I have NEVER EVER EVER talked like this to my son, in front of him, or ever allowed anyone who talks like this around him, so I was confused about where he learned it. His teachers comes up to my husband the next day and says, "oh, your son learned a bad word from a friend." It has been hell trying to erase this God awful word from his little sponge like brain. He has also learned to spit, kick, and hit from another little boy whose mother by the way is an employee at the facility, therefore, they refused to remove her son(s) from the classrooms (yes, all 5 of her sons attend the daycare and they are all problematic). We thought at first, that our son was the problem, but thankfully we got to witness where my son got these behaviors. I asked the assistant director Miss Janice, why didn't they inform us of all the chaos in my son's classroom and she stated that she's not allowed to discuss parents and other children with me. Well it would be nice to know that my son has learned how to use foul language and how to hit and kick from the daycare, instead of making it seem like my husband and I are teaching him these awful things. During the morning time, they would mix the toddlers with the older classrooms until the other teachers arrived. As I dropped my son off one morning, there is this one little girl that was punching the crap out of another little helpless girl as she was screaming, my son's teacher who is by the way pregnant with twins, is chasing the aggressive kid around the room and almost trips over a book shelf. The little girl yells, stop bothering me and leave me alone (something else my child now says to me), she then proceeds to stand on the furniture and snatch all the little toddlers drawings off the wall. I can't believe I allowed my child to ever be exposed to such behavior, I could cry right now because at 2 years old, they are sponges and its hard to fix what they have done to him. My son's teacher who also by the way quit last week, along with multiple other teachers from his previous class, along with the social worker that services the school, along with our pediatrician has recommended we remove him because it is unorganized, not structured and they are under staffed.Tessa, who is the center director, is the worst director in history. I just started communicating with her after Jenn left, her personality is soooo dry and cold, so I would only communicate with Jenn. All of her staff dislikes her, that is why it is such a high teacher turnover rate here. They have complained to me about how she sits on the phone, she's never around, and she'll squeeze as many kids as she can in a classroom just to make money. My son's teacher begged her for help, considering Ms. Vonetta is pregnant with twins, so it was technically only her looking after 16 kids, which more than 8 were boys and boys are rough. Tessa told her, she didn't think she needed the help, that's why my son's teacher quit and so did the others. My son also has a ring worm for the 2nd time. The first time, they once again tried to tell us that he got it from home, but what a coincidence that after my sons start a daycare center, he comes home now with ringworms, and all types of viruses. My husband or myself never had a ringworm, so where in the hell did he get it. Lol When he was at the home daycare, we never had this many problems. My sister came in for the first time today and complained how it smelled like they mopped the floor with the kids poop, which my co-worker and another parent complained about all the time. I am sure this is why he now has a ringworm AGAIN. I won't even talk about how my son has said one of the teachers pinched him (yes, he said their name very clear), I'll have to write a book about it. 11 months was too long to have my son here and I should kick my own butt for letting him stay. My mother-in-law told my husband and I to not even let him finish the week out. I have really did my research on his new daycare and I am excited for him to start there. I am sure if they got new management and got a new director and assistant director, it would be a great facility. I am not sure how with all the complaints and teachers quitting, that Tessa still has a job. My son's pediatrician says that even though the state says the ratio can be 1 teacher for every 8 kids, she says they still need teacher's assistants and aides especially if one of the teachers are pregnant. read more

If I could review the infant room only, I would rate Kindercare 5 stars. Miss Mehjabeen and Miss Zeneb are two of the kindest, most caring human beings I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. Miss Ceci is also a fantastic teacher, loving and nurturing. Unfortunately, your child can't stay in the infant rooms forever. The administration is horrible. They do not listen to parents' concerns, do not pay attention to the children, and have no respect for the teachers. My child was hit and bit too many times when no one seemed to know what happened. Teacher and administration turnover is excessive. There are times when you have no idea who will be in your child's room. The menu is a mystery, and the food quality is terrible. I would let Mehjabeen, Zeneb, Ceci, and a handful of other teachers care for my child until he goes away to college! But sadly, we had to leave their care, and ultimately, we had to leave Kindercare altogether. read more

We have two kids here. The Director, Ms. Williams, is always available and has an open door whenever you have questions. We are pleased with the warmth and sincerity of all the teachers we have met. The diversity of the entire center is an added bonus. Our kids are learning so much in the short time they have been here. We want our kids to succeed and it's clear Ms. Williams and her staff have provided a safe and welcoming environment for them to do so. read more

I feel very fortunate to have my two children cared for by such a dedicated, professional, and caring staff. We were lucky enough to have openings at both this center and a very highly recommended center on site at Evanston Hospital when we moved here a year and a half ago. Both centers were wonderful, but I was able to arrive at KinderCare early for my tour and sat for some time in the lobby, where I was able to listen to the classroom noise without being observed. I was impressed with the way the staff spoke to the children, with the busy, noisy productivity of kids playing and learning. The students and staff are very diverse and the families have widely varied backgrounds and languages. The teachers are very responsive to the kids' needs at every stage, modeling the language and behaviors they need to be good members of the community. They have thematic explorations at every stage, too, with exposure to academic concepts through play and stories and experiences that, as a teacher, I have loved watching. I feel that my daughter, at 2 1/2, already has a rich school experience. My baby has been enrolled, too, from 3 months, and I have had such a great experience with the nurturing staff in the infant room. Leaving your baby for the first time is very hard, and they have been so supportive of us and our baby during that transition. They called to check in on me on our first day, just to let me know how he was doing. I feel that the teachers at this school not only are very professional, caring educators, but they also visibly LIKE their jobs. Caring for children all day is hard, but they always have a funny story about something our kids did today or a moment to tell me about something they noticed that concerned them. They are smiling and laughing and playing right along with our smiling, laughing, playing kids every time I pick them up....and what better way is there to measure the success of a daycare?
