Our family is beyond thrilled with Unity! We toured three different schools before making our decision, and we are so happy we chose Unity. Our daughter, who is two and a half, has had an incredible year of growth, particularly in her language development. It truly exploded thanks to the supportive and educational environment at Unity. She has learned ways to express her emotions, like saying "I'm frustrated" when her little sister takes her toys, which has been such a milestone for us. Sometimes we are pleasantly surprised by new phrases/ideas she weaves into conversation and we ask - where did you learn that? "At School!" Unity has also helped her develop independent play skills, which, as a parent, is a dream come true! Eva and the entire staff are fantastic communicators, and I always feel comfortable bringing up any topic with them. (What other school has parent-teacher conferences for two-year-olds?!) Unity Preschool has been an incredibly nurturing place for my children to explore and learn, and most importantly feel comfortable and valued. My older child was well prepared socially/emotionally and academically for grade school. I love how excited my pre-K child is to share the day's adventures with me. The teachers support curiosity and exploration in the most responsive and creative ways. As a parent with an early childhood education background, I have been thrilled with the quality and care of the experienced teaching staff. The space is so bright and filled with evidence of all the fun the kids are having each day. I also now have the privilege of being part of the collaborative team of teachers. Unity Preschool is a wonderful place for children to play, learn, and grow! Our three children have all thrived at Unity thanks to the passion and expertise of the teaching staff who take the time to know and understand each child's needs. We are so happy to be part of the Unity community! When the teachers send out pictures of the day's adventures, I'm always amazed by the creative projects and experiences that the teachers have prepared for our kids. Since starting at Unity, I have seen huge improvements in how my daughter handles her negative emotions. She is much better at explaining her feelings, rather than jumping right into a tantrum. It has been wonderful seeing the positive changes in her social-emotional development that have occurred since she started at Unity. Finally, we've also enjoyed how Unity has a very involved parent community that provides many opportunities for out-of-school, COVID-safe social events. We moved to Evanston when my oldest son was to enter preschool. I wasn't sure on where to enroll him. I asked neighbors for recommendations and Unity kept popping up in conversations. I am forever grateful for these referrals. Unity has become such an important part of our lives. We have all grown through the valuable friendships established at the school. The staff is wonderfully communicative, sensitive, creative, and always prepared. I like that my sons learn through play and fun-filled experiences. My oldest is now about to enter Kindergarten. There is no doubt that he is emotionally and cognitively ready to do so. We have been very happy with Unity Preschool which we have sent all of our kids to. It is clear that the staff and teachers are passionate and committed to the well-being and development of the little ones. Unity is an amazing preschool! All three of my kids attended preschool at Unity. We had just moved to Evanston and didn't know a lot of people. We found out about Unity at a preschool fair attended by the executive director and a board member. We liked what he heard and the school was close to our house. Little did we know back then what an impact Unity would have on our kids and us. The teachers are so caring and thoughtful and the community is close. Children get just the right amounts of play, socialization, and preparation for elementary school. Our kids made friends that they still have today (oldest is going to high school next year!) and we also made lifelong friends. I highly recommend Unity Preschool! read more

Unity is a wonderful, warm preschool. I have my two young children enrolled here. They both enjoy going to school and come home with a wealth of exciting, fun thoughts & activities. The teacher staff is marvelous. They know how to help both children and parents adjust to and enjoy preschool. The facilities are bright, new and welcoming. Unity is a smaller school so the network of families is very tight knit. It is a great community which offer support, friendship and lots of learning. read more

Our daughter attended Unity for 3 years. She and we had a great experience. Unity is an incredible community based preschool with passionate and caring teachers and administration. The parent led Board is active and thoughtful. All are welcome and there is fun to be had for kids and adults. Our daughter learned much "academically" through fun learning activities and also emotionally as well. I learned a lot of how to think about young kids too from the teachers. Unity Preschool is the best! My oldest granddaughter recently graduated, and now is excelling in D65 kindergarten. My middle granddaughter currently attends, and is well supported not only in her emotional growth but also in her love of all things science. My grandson will start in the fall, and the teachers are well prepared to help remediate his speech delay. Unity is cozy, not overwhelming. Unity Preschool is a warm, nurturing and fun environment. My husband and I have been sending our 3 children there since 2013. Our 3rd is currently in her first year. We were initially taken right away on our visit with the staff. Each member was clearly happy to be there and interested in our children. They take the time to learn each individual child's needs. The play based approach was a perfect fit for our family. In our past 5+ years there, our experience keeps getting better. We've been amazing at what our now graduated children took away from their experience, both socially and educationally. As parents, another plus is all the opportunities for getting involved and meeting other families and gaining lifelong friendships. read more

We just moved from out of state this past summer and were looking for a preschool that offered an intimate setting with play based learning. Our older son had gone to Reggio Emilio & Bank Street based preschools and we wanted this for our younger son. While Unity doesn't openly state their philosophy, just walking into the bright, warm and inviting setting during our tour last year kind of sealed the deal. The teachers and staff are nurturing and the setting offers the opportunity for children to learn about themselves and the world through play and exploration. So far our little one has been comfortable there and is really starting to love it and look forward to going (moving from out of state has been a big adjustment for everyone, esp our kids!). I also love how friendly and warm the faculty is to both children and their siblings/family members. There is also a lovely parent community built around seasonal events and interactions. Our family is new to Unity Preschool this year, and so far we are loving the caring and vibrant atmosphere there. The teachers are experienced and kind. The classrooms are clean, organized and filled with open ended play options for the kids. There are many special projects and crafts that I look forward to each week. One other thing that puts me at ease is how lovingly the kids are cared for during a time of transition as new students (for us it was going from no other caregivers except mom or dad to a 2 day/week classroom with new teachers). My child is thriving here and I'm so glad we made the choice to join Unity. read more

Our family has loved Unity, both of my children attended starting at age 2.
