The Learning Experience - Sauganash has been like a second home to my family, caring for my two kids over the years. It has been a source of comfort, knowing my child is in good hands. We love the learning experience! My daughter is four years old and has been going here since she was a baby. We love our experience. when it's time for her to go off to kindergarten, she will be ready!! she knows her letters, numbers, colors and shapes. She is also how to be kind and share with her friends. My eight month old just started a couple of months ago and we couldn't be happier with her experience as well. We know that she is in good hands and we'll make the same progress as her sister. we never ended up enrolling our daughter at TLE - initially when i came in for the scheduled tour it seemed like a dream space the teachers seemed happy everything seemed under control and great - i then came again unexpected with my daughters father to tour the space again and it was a completely different experience kids were crawling under the sinks - the teacher to child ratio was exceeded and it felt like pure chaos. during the lunch hour a slop was serve to the infants and they were eating with their hands - it felt all so messy - the original teacher i met with for her age group within that week quit! it all felt very red flag and like the employe turnover was substantial there - upon the first initial meet a teacher held my baby and set her down in which she fell and bumped her head - i advised the woman that she was not holding herself up yet but it was her first accident and we weren't even enrolled. i feel bad bc we never made it to the enrollment to get a full experience but the second tour was enough to know it wasn't the space for us. i would tour multiple times and interview and investigate as much as possible before signing on the dotted line. i know finding a daycare is very hard as i still am searching but nothing is more important than your child's care and safety read more

My wife and I picked this place for daycare when she was pregnant. However, for reasons that take too much time to discuss we chose another daycare. What a mistake! After having our child at an awful daycare run by a crazy buffoon, followed by a so-so daycare that didn't fit our needs, we ended up back where we started. In hindsight I wish we had enrolled our child here and been with them the whole time. Simply put you get what you pay for: a clean, safe, professionally run and managed daycare that truly focuses on giving your child the best start in life. Of the three daycares we have used, this being the third; the learning experience is definitely the most expensive. However, I am so happy with the care and attention they give our child that the price is worth it. Deb runs a tight ship. Every teacher knows our child's name. The learning experience has bent over backwards to help and assist with the OT from Early Intervention. The teachers actually pay attention to what she, the OT, does so that they can pick up skills for their own betterment. The Learning Experience(TLE) uses their own app to share information about your child's day with you. Our child is socializing with other children. The food our child is fed is healthy and age appropriate. Every day there are activities for sensory development and enrichment. We asked that they make sure our child wears a hat; not only did they make sure our request was followed one of the teachers started wearing one so our child wouldn't feel alone. Twice our child had a minor fall on the playground: both times we were called and informed of the circumstances surrounding what happened. No song and dance just, " I thought you should know that....fell on the playground today." I could go on and on about all the little things they do that make this place a cut above the rest. In conclusion, I highly recommend TLE. I honestly feel that since our child has started attending we have seen so much more growth mentally, emotionally, and physically. read more

I'm surprised at all of the positive reviews! We had a wonderful tour but when we came in for "play date" prior to starting, we began to notice things that were off. I asked a teacher if she liked working there and she said, "well, it's a job." I mean, I don't really want to leave my baby with someone who isn't eager to care for her or at least professional enough to act like it! However, we gave the team the benefit of the doubt. We had a 4 year old in the preschool room and a 1.5 year old in the toddler room. Communication was extremely poor, I had to call multiple times to request basic communication (did a nap happen?) and the director kindly agreed with me and apologized. But nothing ever changed. The preschool room was ok, Ms Mirella was truly great (really the only positive experience we had was with her and one male teacher I can't remember his name but started with an M) and my son made friends in the camp but they did not do a good job making him feel welcome and he had a hard time with drop offs, teachers were usually setting up or distracted doing other work instead of welcoming my son. My baby continued to have a hard time, I'd pick her up and she seemed unhappy, dirty and there were different teachers constantly. I ended up having to follow my gut and immediately pulled my baby, I just didn't feel safe leaving her there, she was there for a little over a month and in the time we were there almost every teacher in her room had quit. I let my son stay bc he settled in and made friends and he was going to start prek in the fall at a different school so it didn't make sense to pull him from camp once he had made friends. Plus he could at least communicate with me and tell me if things were ok (he did tell me teachers yelled at him and I personally witnessed teachers reprimanding kids in inappropriate ways during my pick ups). Every time I expressed my concerns, the director Ms Deb was so kind and validating but it seems like there is a chronic lack of systemic support from whoever owns this business, high turnover rate and just a lot of unmanageability. I can tell they treat their staff poorly (underpaid, overworked) hence the high turn over rate and distracted energy. Not a place I want to leave my kids. On my sons last day, nobody really said bye to him except the director. I'll add, I did my best to keep a positive attitude - I really tried to communicate completely valid concerns and expectations. We were very happy with a prior center (had to switch bc we moved) and we LOVE the center we switched the baby too. My daughter seems SO happy every day we pick her up and blows goodbye kisses to all the teachers. I'm not trying to be rude or negative, but I think other parents should be warned. They make it look great on the tour but in real life, doesn't measure up. If staff is reading this, I suggest the organization takes 15% of their curriculum development budget (which they REALLY invest in) and invest it in treating their staff better so they can have happier staff/less turnover/more positive environment. I have had both my kids there. One since they were 22 months right after everything opened from Covid and the other since they were 8 months. The one has left since starting Kg. Ms Lisa and Ms Colette in the infant room have been there since the beginning for us (2020). Ms Wendy in the infant 2 room is super friendly and kind. Ms Thea who is in toddler room is amazing. (Also been there since 2020) She is a great communicator and gets those kids engaged. The room is clean which is no small feet with toddlers (imagine Toy Story and all the toys are trying to escape the toddler room). Ms Jina is my older child's favorite teacher. She taught my child how to dance, loves art projects, does butterfly gardens and again has been there the entire time. Ms Joyce the floater has also been there the entire time we have been there (2020). Ms Laura in the pre k classroom gets some academics in and starts working towards their entrance to Kg. Ms Deb the director came shortly after we did. She has always been accommodating. She loves birds and engaging in conversations with my children about them. She is also there running the place for 10-12 hours a day. Ms Ericka and Ms Perla are the other two admin involved at the school. They are friendly and welcoming. Yes, there is staff turnover. Mostly from what I see from the classroom assistants which are often very young people. A lot of the of the assistants when you talk to them are in school and this is their stepping stone to their future which is kind of expected from young people. But the core teachers have been there for a while. They also have a great parking lot for drop offs and a play ground attached. One side is for bigger kids and the other for the littles. They don't do neighborhood walks and stuff like that which our family appreciates having the play area right there. read more

TLE is fantastic! My daughter (now in 1st grade) went here before she started school and her teachers said she started well ahead of the game with what she learned at TLE. My son is currently in the preschool room with Jina and Monica. He loves it, every day when I pick him up he is happy and playing. The updates through the app are great, I love seeing the pictures and getting updates. Every teacher/staff knows all the kids names and seem to genuinely care for them. Deb, Erica, and Perla at the front are always so nice and helpful. I will be sad when it is time for my youngest to graduate from TLE. read more

We first toured TLE in October 2018 when I was pregnant. On the surface, everything checked out great! A new, bright, clean facility. Fully staffed and the kids appeared happy and content. After my daughter was born we decided to go with a nanny share for her first several months instead. We returned to TLE in December 2019 when she was 9 months old. She went through the typical period of adjustment, crying for the first few months at drop-off. Interestingly, though, she never could nap there; with all of the infants on different schedules, lights always on, music always a bit too loud, I don't know that it was the best environment for sleep. However, we were otherwise satisfied and she remained there until COVID hit in March 2019 and they had to close for 3 months. She returned in July 2019 and was put in a new room with a new teacher due to her age. They reduced parent access to the front door for drop off/pick up, which we were happy about due to COVID. We were really concerned that it would take her a while to adjust because she had been home with us for a few months, but she did surprisingly well. Everything was going great for a few months, but over time it got worse and worse. Around March 2021 is when I really saw a shift. Communication between parents and teachers was basically non-existent, even though they had implemented a new app, where teachers were to input updates re: meal times, diaper changes, naps, etc. I was told by a couple teachers that the app was not user friendly on there end, however, management did nothing to fix is. I also heard at one point that lead teachers were instructed not to bring the kids up to the front at drop-off/pick-up; instead, this was the role of the "floater" teachers. This limited opportunities for communication in further. Lack of communication proved challenging when we transitioned into potty training in May 2021. For a couple months she was having no accidents at home, but having accidents everyday at school. Poopy underwear were sent home with actual, whole turds left in the underwear. She once was put down for a nap in her underwear (not in a pull-up per our request) and had an accident that got onto her nap blanket and clothes; her clothes were changed, but her wet blanket was tied to her backup strap, dirty and out in the open. We saw 8 or more teachers resign in a matter of 2-3 months. Kids and teachers were shuffled in and out of rooms to keep within ratio. I believe this is against CDC and DCFS COVID precautions/guidelines, as the kids should be exposed to as little new people as possible while in schools/daycares. She never got COVID, but came down with some sort of fever/ear infection/runny nose every 8-ish weeks. I communicated often with other parents whose children were in the same classroom as mine, and they experienced much of the same issues and have left. With all of the above in mind, I finally came to my senses after she had been having complete meltdowns at drop-off for about 3 months straight. She is a slow to warm up kid, but 3 months is alarming. We switched her to a new school in late July and she no longer cries at drop off and is not having potty accidents anymore. Environment, routine is everything! In short, if you're ok with your kid simply being fed and alive at the end of the day, then maybe this place will be okay for you. I do want to say that there are a few really amazing teachers there! They truly cared for out daughter and showed her so much love during our time there. I believe all of TLE's issues are management related; their high staff turnover points to this. Fundamental issues like this will undoubtedly spill over into the classroom and the kids will suffer. I believe most of the teachers there are always doing the best with what they have at the time. With staffing and moral so low, I would imagine it feels impossible to keep up and give quality care to the kids at all times. read more

Very disappointed. Poor communication. Abrasive emails. Director/teachers do not understand nature vs nurture. My child was blamed for all his behaviors and not once did directors look to see how can staff improve working with the child. A director called me while working to tell me my child wasn't napping and causing a fuss and asked me what they should do??? After taking my child to the doctor because they were convinced my child had a speech problem I was met with "that is unfortunate your doctor doesn't think there is a speech problem." My child does not have a speech problem and the Pediatrician stated it's situational stress. I should have removed my child sooner and took a clue when he started crying in the morning at drop off. 2 weeks into new school and my kid is so happy! I have my happy child back. He talks non stop. He does not cry in the mornings at drop off. In the mornings at drop off I get hugs and kisses and not tears. My only regret is not changing centers sooner. read more

My son started daycare part time at TLE about a month ago and I'm astounded by his development. He was previously at home with me full time, and as a work-at-home mom I was just not able to focus on his development as much as he deserves. He's always been an engaged baby, but since beginning at TLE he has become even more adventurous and curious at home. He's trying to say words (he makes the "k" and "t" sounds when our cats are around, he makes the "b" sound when he picks up a book), and he is getting so steady on his feet I think he'll be walking by the end of the month! He's 9 months old, so he's got a bunch of separation anxiety and cries when I leave him in the mornings, but (even though it is heartbreaking to drop him off) the benefits he's getting from TLE's attentive care definitely outweigh the tough parts of the transition. If you would rather your child care provider roll your kids vomit up in the sleeve than just put on a fresh shirt then TLE is for you. If you hate routine and want a new pick up/drop off routine every few days then TLE is for you. If you hate communication and want your inquiries to go unanswered then TLE is for you. If you love false expectations and broken promises then TLE will be the perfect fit for your family!!! But seriously, we were bamboozled by pushy sales tactics and a fresh building. We were silly. Don't be us. Save yourself the heartache and just keep looking. How they have managed to only have perfect scores is astonishing & suspicious. My daughter is in preschool at TLE-Sauganash and we have had an incredibly positive experience. It is truly a unique environment where my daughter is thriving. The staff here is what really makes the difference. Everyone genuinely cares for our daughter, beyond just her teachers. Everything is high quality, clean, and surpassed our family's expectations. I started my 2 year old daughter here in October 2017 and I couldn't be happier. The facilities are new and clean. The teachers are sweet and great with my daughter. I love the progress report that I get on my daughter everyday when I pick her up, so I know what she ate, whether she napped, her diaper changes, and what she learned for the day. This was my first time having a small child in daycare so I was extremely nervous and picky about my selection, that's when I saw a familiar name "TLE" pop up. My oldest daughter attended in another state and she was very well cared for, challenged, and comfortable at The Learning Experience. The Sauganash location had just been built and had a couple infant spots opened. Upon visiting, I felt welcomed and part of a family as soon as I walked in the door! Fast forward to now, my child has been there almost a month now and loves it! Every time at drop off and pickup, she is greeted with smiles and friends. The instructors enjoy her and she enjoys them! There is never a moment where I don't know what's going on. I look forward to my thorough daily sheets and random pictures of her playing. read more

What can I say about TLE! The entire staff is warm and friendly and truly cares about each and every child. I know my daughter was in good hands when she was happy when I dropped her off and just as happy when I picked her up! It is a great feeling to know your child is loved and in amazing care when you leave them each day. The teachers kept me well informed as to how her day went from what she ate to diaper rashes! Another great thing about having a younger child there is there is not only an infant room but also a room called "Twaddlers" which is a perfect class for those kidos in-between infant and toddlers. It is a safe space for them to explore but not being over run by bigger kids. The school is brand new and just beautiful. It is clean and has has an amazing play area. Our son started at the The Learning Experience right when he turned 3. The adjustment to full time pre-school was very smooth because of the caring and attentive teachers and staff. English is the second language for my son and they have been incredibly accommodating with the transition. The director and teachers are very responsive and attentive. The facilities are clean and kids-friendly. It is a very happy place to be: sunny and neat facilities, large indoor and outdoor playground for free play and physical exercise, fun learning activities, flexible drop-off and pick-up times for busy working parents, music and dance sessions, fun games etc. Our son made a lot of friends there and learned so much in less than a year. He is excited every morning to go to "work"! Thank you TLE for taking such good care of the kids and building the foundation for the school years ahead. read more

I would never ever recommend this facility to any parents who care about their kids. I have chose this center because the distance and the director's welcome face in the beginning. In fact, there are numerous reason for me to tell you do not trust your first meeting with the teachers and staff there. 1) my kid always come back home without diaper changes 2) they have big turn over for their teachers, most of them seem like very unresponsible for the kids, when you have questions, they always seem like they do not know what is going on 3) kids always have dirty clothes from doing craft work even you have bring all bibs for them to wear 4) they do not care about the kids safety!!!!!!!!!! this is the biggest reason i turn away from them, they let the kids play and eat markers without direct them in a right way, my kid got sick afterwards but they do not care about it.5) the teachers are not fully trained, they do not know how to use epic-pen, and they don't know on top of their head which kid is allergic for what kind of food!!!!!!!very dangerous!!!!! the whole center is lack of management, the director has two faces, they would welcome you before you enroll and say whatever promises verbally, and change her face after your kid attend the center for few months, she made you feel that you should never ask her questions, always in a rush, never like to solve the problem in a proper way. she would made you feel it is your fault to have many questions or deal with a problem. After you decide to leave, she also made some improper common and faces!!!!! Again, if you care about your kid's safety, and a good communication place, this is not a place to send your baby in! very disappointed and waste money! read more

My wife and I have moved a couple times over the past 3 years resulting in our daughters (3 year and 1 year old) having to switch daycares multiple times. Their previous daycare was good, but not great. When we found out TLE was opening just down the street from our house, we were excited and cautious at the same time. Being a new daycare we were concerned they would not have the best care right away as all businesses have to work out their kinks. Well, we were worried for no reason. The first 3 months at TLE for our daughters have been great. The teachers are very loving and patient with the girls. Most importantly, our girls get excited every morning when we pull into the parking lot of TLE. I would highly recommend this daycare to anyone looking! read more
