Very cool looking spot. I will say we came right after opening to grab some food before a lakers…read moregame so it was pretty empty and it looked like they were maybe setting up for the night. We got the wings, miso mac and cheese, and steak/filet bites. These were all on happy hour. The wings were really good. Small portion and small (little baby) wings but the sauces (yuzu something, and siracha honey) were super tasty! I had suchhhhh high hopes for the miso Mac and cheese but I wouldn't get it again. It's not very miso heavy and the cheese mostly on top. The inside/bottom part of the noodles were bland and needed cheese or cheese sauce. The steak bites were good but small. I guess normal size for a happy hour plate. Separately, the happy hour menu on their website is bigger than the actual one. So they need to change that asap. No curry on the HH menu currently :( The drinksssss were FANTASTIC. We got the purple haze and no name. Love the names LOL. I would do 3 orders of drinks to try all the interesting stuff they had if we had time. Soooo I won't rush back here but it was decent. Highlight was the drinks. Also happy to support a black-owned (I think) business!

Came here with a group of 4 and we got a reservation online…read more Good - Each dish was so good! We even got a free biscuit and honey dish from the chef that was amazing, good flakey texture - Miso mac n cheese was so good - never had a dish like it before and we devoured it quickly - My dish was the chicken curry katsu - it was ok, I think 6/10 but I liked how it was clean and had a lot of healthy ingredients like veggies - I liked the shrimp n grits since they had a unique asian twist Bad: - The wait time was insane between dishes - we needed to wait about 30 min for our first dish, then another 30 min after to get our entree, so it was a lot of waiting between eating - Loud DJ playing in the back so you need to yell a bit to hear people Overall this was a cool vibe and a fun atmosphere and I think the food is worth going back for.

Chris is THE Los Angeles Empire turntable expert. I picked up a used Empire Scientific 698…read moreturntable in completely untested condition and in a two hour house call Chris had it resuscitated, fully set up, and ready to run for another 50 years. Chris was upfront about pricing, timely, and a great communicator.

Chris does great work... if you can ever get him to finish it…read more He came out right away to consult on two consoles I had with separate problems. He replaced the capacitor for one, and took the turntable for the other with him to fix. He brought it back the next day repaired. The work for both was over a thousand... maybe 1200 or so. Fast, efficient. Worth it... if it had ended there. But it didn't. The console with the replaced capacitor still had the same problem and the turntable had a new issue and wasn't playing out of one channel. These things happen, no problem... so I texted Chris this, and he would occasionally get back to me but would not commit to come out and finish the work. After months of this I started to get worried. Finally, two or three months later of hounding him constantly, I got him to come out to at least fix the turntable - but only AFTER I had diagnosed the issue myself (was simply a loose wire in the cartridge that needed soldering) and told him not to worry about the second console for now (which he said he'd have to take into his shop since he had no room) if that was what was preventing him from coming out. That worked. He came. Soldered the one wire and one player was working fully. I was happy for at least that. We discussed having him take the other console into his shop in a month or so when he had room and finish what he started... I knew there would extra costs and told him so. Nevertheless, he has stopped responding to any communication from me at all since that day. That was months ago now. Judging by other reviews on here about Chris ghosting them, I fear that is the treatment I'm getting and it's the last I've heard from him. I'll have to find someone else to finish the work I suppose.

Can I give them 6 stars ?…read more I purchased a home stereo system at Ahead Stereo about three or four years ago. I met with Aaron just to ask a few preliminary questions. he is super knowledgeable, like everyone at Ahead Stereo, but understood my level of expertise and was able bring it up a few notches. I love the system I bought there. Every time I have a question setting it up, Aaron emails be exact drawings of what goes where. In the last few years I've purchased a few more items from Aaron and no matter what questions I ask, they are answered completely regardless whether I'm ready to purchase something or looking for advice. His diagrams are awesome. I recently learned a local big box store carries some of the same brands as Ahead, but you will NEVER get the help you will want and need there. Do yourself a favor, stop in to Ahead Stereo and listen to some of the best audio gear available.

Outstanding Service and Support at Ahead Stereo…read more I purchased my McIntosh turntable from Ahead Stereo and recently ran into an issue with my stylus. I reached out to Brian, and he immediately went above and beyond--contacting McIntosh on my behalf, walking me through the options, and ultimately helping me get back up and running. What stood out most wasn't just the solution, but the care and integrity Brian showed throughout the process. He didn't treat me like just another transaction, he treated me like a valued customer. That kind of support is rare, and it's exactly why I'll keep coming back to Ahead Stereo. If you're into high-end audio and want a dealer who stands by their customers, this is the place. Highly recommend.

I was down in Los Angeles last week for a conference, the Open Networking Summit. While setting up…read moremy booth, we noticed that we needed an HDMI splitter to show our software demo on both a monitor and TV. Therefore, what does the boss ask me to do? Yelp "HDMI cable/splitter please!" This is like a Monday at 4:30 pm. So I quickly check Yelp, and the Wires Zone pops up (we were at the Intercontinental Hotel in DTLA, which was where the conference was held). I quickly called them to see if they had it in stock (yes), and what time do they open tomorrow morning (9 am). By this time, it was already like 4:50 pm so obviously like too late to catch an Uber over to buy it. The next morning, my boss pings me... get the HDMI splitter ASAP! So I call my Uber, and I arrived outside The Wires Zone about 8:58 am... they just opened and were very friendly. A couple employees greeted me, I told them my situation, and they quickly got me my HDMI splitter. Even better, the owner asks me how I found them, I said Yelp, and he gave me a 10% discount. The lady get me a receipt and I pay with a credit card. Very professional!! And very friendly!! I was relieved that I finished my task and ubered back to the conference. 5 stars for sure!! Thank you for saving my company's (Lumina Networks) booth :)

I'd be happier to see they pack it like contents are going to someone who used to ship for a huge retailer. BUT they (the wires zone) are my go to for E ARTHQUAKE products as they have the best prices.
