Slices were not hot, pepperoni were chopped up and had to look to see any. Sauce had no flavor.

This little place that has less than a handful of tables, because its carry out business was super busy while our hour plus there, was fantastic. Our meal started with warm, wrapped in foil rolls that were scrumptious. The cream of broccoli soup was delicious. It was blended with carrots (and probably other veggies) and a lot of broccoli. The portion of Eggplant Parmesan served on top of spaghetti that I ordered was huge. Prices were so reasonable, especially for the large servings. Atmosphere was friendly and we spoke to a couple sitting at another table who were also there for the first time, also came in based on the reviews they read, and really liked their food. The employee behind the counter who took our order, brought us the rolls and dishes, was super nice and very appreciative of our tip. We are definitely going back!

It's rich and tangy and you can tell a lot of care goes into it. We've tried many things, from the lasagna to the meatballs and it's all outstanding. Everything is very fresh and well prepared. We've only done takeout, but it's been outstanding. Do yourself a favor and give them a try.

To broaden our experience, my friend and I split everything we ordered. Dinner was AMAZING....5/5 APPETIZER: "Burrata Camponata" A mound of this heavenly Eggplant Relish, severalthick slices of fresh Burrata oozing cheese, and a big mound of imported, freshly shaved Prosciutto off of the special shaver that sits in the dining room for the dishes that require this beautifully seasoned ham. Absolutely delicious appetizer! The basket of fresh Italian bread and olive oil for dipping was put to use with our glasses of Chianti and then enjoyed very soon as an olive oil topped bread base for our well-placed trio of this gorgeous appetizer. Next, for the salad, we chose to split the "Charred (on a hot coal grill !) Romaine on the grill Caesar Salad" with an anchovie garnish The perfectly seasoned croutons were made in-house, and so was their most divine (BEST I've ever had) Caesar dressing! We split 2 Entrees: Pasta Carbonara created in the imported, authentic, giant Parmesan wheel table-side Espresso-encrusted Prime cut sirloin steak Med Rare with roasted redskins and fresh, petite green beans. It was the most tender cut of beef with huge flavor, made even more so from the grill. It was perfection, simple fare, highest quality of ingredients, all prepared and presented beautifully. The staff were always attentive, though not smothering, and genuinely friendly with a ready smile. DESSERT: We split "heaven-in-your-mouth" x2 : a piece of Dubai Chocolate cheesecake and a serving of the Tiramisu. "Ecstasy," is all we could say as the perfect wrap-up to this gourmet trip to Italy Mangiabevi, you haunt me daily until I return.

We have always had a great experience; but this time not so much. We started with a couple of appetizers. I had the beets and citrus salad which was excellent. My husband had the fried zucchini stuffed flower appetizer, which was not very tasteful, had a poor presentation, small portion, the amoigio sauce was cold as if it just came out of the frig and was overpriced at $18. Our main courses were the Porcini Pasta, which was delicious, and so was the Pesto Pasta ( but it had a puddle of oil at the bottom of the dish). Our server seemed in a hurry to take our order, but as soon as she did, she was not very attentive. We appreciated the bus staff filling up waters and bread (and packaging up my leftovers), as well as the food runners bringing our food. All were amazing! This frees up the server to check on patrons and to sell more beverages or deserts. Back to our server who would walk into her section, but not glance at each table to see if anyone might need anything, seeing her one of her only responsibilities at this time was to get a cocktail refill. I had to call to her as she walked by our table after a couple of times to request another beer for my husband. When the server delivered the beer, she did not bother to ask if I wanted a refill for my wine, so I didn't bother to ask her for one. We decided not to order desert at this point.

Both times, I ordered a small four-square pizza with pepperoni and black olives, and Loui's absolutely knocked it out of the park. Don't let the word "small" fool you either -- this is a seriously filling pizza. Even a hungry customer is likely to leave full, satisfied, and already thinking about the next visit. What really stood out to me was the generous amount of cheese, the substantial weight of the pizza, and that perfectly crisp crust. It's rich, hearty, and exactly the kind of pizza you hope for when you're craving something substantial. The service was fantastic on both visits as well. My servers were friendly and attentive, and I also really enjoyed the old-school interior. It has that wonderfully dated, nostalgic feel that immediately brought me back to the good old days of going out to restaurants around Detroit as a kid. To me, that atmosphere is part of the charm. If you haven't tried Loui's Pizza yet, trust me -- you're missing out. After hearing about it for years, I can definitely see why it has such a loyal following, and I'll absolutely be back.

We called ahead and reserved a space for 17 people and they were very accommodating. The pizza here is FANTASTIC. The cheese pull was something to behold. It's cash only so if you're in a group make sure everyone has cash since they do not do separate checks. The Greek salad and antipasto salad was excellent and a HUGE recommendation and endorsement on the garlic cheese bread. It was so freaking good I could've just eaten that whole pan and called it a day. HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend coming here!

We recently discovered this place and kind of bummed we haven't heard of it sooner…read more The restaurant itself is a typical classic italian restaurant. You can tell they have been here for years but nothing is drab or old feeling. The bread and butter they serve before your meal was delicious. I could have eating two baskets. I ordered the baked mostaccioli for my entree, as it seems like the only place around that makes this. The meat sauce was fantastic and the cheese on top was delicious. My only mild complaint is that while the cheese was completely melted, I would have preferred more color (those delicious, almost crunchy brown bits), but otherwise fantastic. We will be going again!

We immediately noticed the extreme simplification of the menu; Firenze's four-page menu, containing all of the beloved Italian dishes has been reduced to a one-page, bare-bones offering... with every item changed to a la carte. It's easy to figure out what happened; the owners of Firenze brought Gordon Ramsey in thinking he would magically transform their restaurant into a new, trendy, high-end destination with a menu that would appeal to the new, trendy, Tic-Tok generation. Unfortunately, the demographic in South-Warren isn't going to bite. What made Firenze so popular in the area was its old-fashioned charm, and all-inclusive meals at a reasonable price-point. Firenze's nostalgic appeal and affordability has been obliterated for a slick, glossy concept created by a multi-millionaire who is completely unfamiliar with this Southeast Michigan neighborhood and the sensibilities of those who live in it. Bottom line; the food was good, not great, and definitely not worth the total. Two of us ordered a pasta dish, and a chopped salad. Our bill with tip came to $75.00. Firenze missed the mark, and completely forgot their longtime patrons who loved their restaurant as it was. I wish you success, but we won't be back.
